If you’ve been here for a while you’ll have noticed I don’t pay much attention to preseason friendlies but tomorrow’s game against Wolfsburg takes on a more serious tone after Tuesday’s reversal – Celtic desperately need to find sharpness.
Despite the well-placed confidence that we’ll cope comfortably at Celtic Park on Wednesday against Lincoln Red Imps, the serious challenges will come thick and fast thereafter.
Players need to find their edge and the manager needs to learn who goes where and works with whom. It’s just about possible for us to get things together, but whoever we pull out of the hat in today’s provisional third qualifying round draw will be delighted to catch a team in apparent flux.
All this brings us back to Wolfsburg’ a much needed test.

You need to get it into that thick skull of yours that Res12 is not over, obviously you want it to be over and the longer it goes on the more frustrated and petty you become, nobody blew it, it’s still very much a live issue, although the next couple of weeks will be the test of whether it’s successful or not. It could be argued that you are right because the Plc have failed to protect the shareholders interests but only a clown like you could think that’s a good thing wholly based on your opinion on the people who are making the agenda.
You quickly forget how those boys in long trousers were shitting themselves only a couple of months ago and wanting us in our shorts to say nice things about them so they could sell the season tickets, which we of course obliged as its our club too more so as we do not impose on the club’s resources. However as I said earlier and you completely ignored, they no longer have any power over us since they abdicated all responsibility to protect the shareholders interests, nor do they command any respect or deference. These boys in long trousers as you put it are amateurs and have failed miserably in their strategy to kick it into the long grass, all we needed was for them to give up trying to control us and they have done that too early, they and their partners the SFA underestimated us and that is about to be demonstrated now that we have full control.
So it’s good that you will keep in mind that Res12 is none of your business as it is the case, you never supported it and have from day one tried to undermine both Res12 and us who are working on it, in both cases you failed miserably and I’m glad to see its sticking in your craw.

Afternoon all,
For anyone thinking of travel to Astana, assuming both us and them get through, you will find that trip difficult… Depending on which day (Tuesday or Wednesday) you’re looking at a journey of between 12 and 24 hrs from Amsterdam to Astana in Kazakhstan, with 2 stops in between.
Maybe there’s the possibility of someone chartering something and putting an offer up? But Air Astana is the main carrier and their flight times and routes are not good, sorry :(
That said, and if I’m in country here at that time (that’s if it’s the July date), then it’s a wee internal flight for me. Sod’s law, it’ll be the August date though, and there is NO WAY I’m coming here on a break, even if it is to follow the bhoys. I spend all of my time here looking forward to getting out of the place!
Anyway, I’ll keep my eye on it and I’ll be happy to try and help anybody that does fancy it… If it happens.
I’m off for 4 weeks around that time though with 2 weeks in Glasgow (and the other fortnight in Turkey), if the timing’s right maybe I could get to both. Wrong? Then it’s neither.

My opinion is that this coming season will be a bit of a ‘white knuckle ride’ and will test the resolve and patience of our 52,000 season ticket holders.
In my opinion things will get worse before they get better during the course of the season, as round pegs are extracted from square holes and vice versa.
Buying policy won’t change, because it can’t change – we are where we are and there are no money-trees growing in the East End.
Bournemouth’s signing of Ibe for £15 million and the reported offer of £1 million/year to Charlie Mulgrew by Sheff Wed, encapsulate exactly what we are up against.
We are a wonderful club, but in this crazy financial football world, we are not a big club any more.
