van Dijk signs four year deal

Absolutely delighted at the arrival of Dutch under-21 international central defender, Virgil van Dijk, on a four year deal.  A central defender was one of three priorities for this summer and we have secured our first choice target.

The signing will also give a boost to the squad, and a timely reminder to all that amidst talk of player potentially leaving ‘at the right price’, the Celtic Story is one of progress.

Celtic had the tallest team in the Champions League last season.  They were also top scorers from headed goals in the competition until Bayern Munich caught them in the semi-finals.  With the addition of two 6’4” players (van Dijk and Balde) we look to be consolidating our strengths.

    Ahh, what a great tonic last night was. A mid out of season visit to paradise to see four legendary hoops give us their magical memoirs of the run up to winning the European Cup and a smattering of funny stories courtesy of the toe rag Bertie Auld.

     

     

    It was great to meet Mighty Tim for the first time and good on him for buying a very expensive shirt. Now yon, nutty cyclist, the big dude mouldy that looks like a movie star. That was another pleasure and I hope he gets his 1888th mile under his belt soon.

     

     

    If he cycles the 105 miles from Glasgow to where I live I’ll donate £105 pounds to his fantastic cause. That is a promise. Cmon big fella, its 20 miles less that we estimated.

     

     

    Mouldy, stick some good quality square sausage in yer nap sack, I’ll provide the sauce & rolls .

     

     

    Young ACGR was mesmerised by the Lions last night and that was without any bevy. His fascination for all things Celtic is truly complete and he now fully understands the massive beating heart of Celtic Football Club and why we love our club.
