van Dijk signs four year deal

1571

Absolutely delighted at the arrival of Dutch under-21 international central defender, Virgil van Dijk, on a four year deal.  A central defender was one of three priorities for this summer and we have secured our first choice target.

The signing will also give a boost to the squad, and a timely reminder to all that amidst talk of player potentially leaving ‘at the right price’, the Celtic Story is one of progress.

Celtic had the tallest team in the Champions League last season.  They were also top scorers from headed goals in the competition until Bayern Munich caught them in the semi-finals.  With the addition of two 6’4” players (van Dijk and Balde) we look to be consolidating our strengths.

Welcome to Celtic, Virgil.

Last call for tonight’s special Lions Roar event.  Watch the 1967 European Cup final on big screens in the Kerrydale Suite followed by a Q&A with the men who made history (including Willie Wallace, Heart of a Lion available below).  See you there.

NatKnow, Regi & Bobby Petta played for Celic Legends in Dundalk today. One of our “Van” men, Pierre & Brian O Neill scored in 2 nil win.

That’s an event I’d have attended had I been nearer. Nostalgia and all that..!

Could not agree more. The overall quality of sports journalism appears to be utterly dreadful. No attempt at either accuracy or neutrality most of the time. All driven by money of course. I made the suggestion to Paul67 a while back for CQN Radio Show online. Appears to be happening elsewhere (Spreaker etc.). Be good to get some rational discussion.

I will never forget that sneaky cunt who stole my Lisbon Lions one-of-a-kind print scarf that i bought in Glasgow when i was a kid – always wondered where it disappeared to,then 20 odd years later some varmit starts boasting about his Lisbon Lions scarf and some lies about how such and such presented him with the scarf, blah blah blah.

And i just sat there biting my lip – couldn’t say a thing because i have been guilty of borrowing items in the past and forgot to return them.

No bitter no nothing,it killed me it did.

That was a hard blow to take, absolute nightmare.

But may God be my judge,if my scarf is ever produced in front of my face again,i am taking it back, and a dont give a f if it starts world war 3.

The Stone Roses on Saturday was as mad

The Boss on Tuesday night was as good

The reason I lost my own Son and his Mum @ the Stone Roses concert was because it was Mad and highly anticipated by me, especially, amongst that Trinity.

I spent most of the Roses set looking for them just behind the speakers but it turns out they were right at the very front. Radio Rental or what?

We will carry on through it all, Celtic is a beautiful Waterfall.

Aidan’s Mum was at the Boss concert also and she will miss the wee mans parents meeting because she is going to see Robbie Williams next Tuesday.

Just a wee bit disappointed that one of Aidans best friends has been released from the ole Sons of the Rock. Who knows Aidan might be released as well on Tuesday evening.

  17. Just when I thought today on CQN couldn’t get any crazier,16 Roads looks for his scarf back & Kojo dances his way on to the stage. Anyway I’m listening to Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong singing a duet of “Dancing Cheek to Cheek”, pure class,

  18. Will be seeing Willie Wallace on Tuesday before he goes back to Australia. If anyone wants a signed copy of Heart of a Lion order (under Paul’s post) before before Monday night and then email celticquicknews@gmail.com with the message you want and I’ll get Willie to sort. It will be the last opportunity. Need to remember to get him to sign one for me!
