Watt ready to push Hooper

922

There were so many pleasing aspects to yesterday’s performance.  Perhaps most importantly, we won a game and scored goals without our primary creative fulcrum, Kris Commons, and without playing our backup fulcrum, Charlie Mulgrew, in a creative position.

Several players will return for Wednesday’s Champions League play-off decider against Helsingborgs but Tony Watt has given Neil Lennon plenty to consider.  He was by some magnitude the best player on the field, and was considerably more threatening than his strike partner, Gary Hooper, who has had no genuine competition for the main striker position since arriving at Celtic two years ago.  I’ve felt for some time that Gary needs to be pushed.  Tony might be the man to do this.

Do you remember six years ago we mocked Paul Le Guen’s Rangers with, “You’re fourth in the SPL…”  Poor Sevco are fourth in the fourth tier of Scottish football.  Give that guy McCoist another 5% of the shares, he’s absolutely priceless.

We Oscar 4 Life’ have organised a bucket collection for Dundee home game at CP on 22nd of September and require a Lorry Load of Volunteer collectors. To volunteer as a bucket collected please email us at weeoscar4life@gmail.com.

Ah! The old Christian chastisement – I remember it fondly!

The nuns at the ‘oul school in deepest Ayrshire were most adept at it!

I cant help but smile and, sometimes, laugh thinking back to those happy days!

    Best years of my life!

    HH!!

  2. Any truth in the rumour that Tony Watt is on the verge of signing a deal with a new agent – Bomber Brown?

I was very impressed with Tony Watt on Saturday, in the couple of games he’s played in he scored goals and what I’ve seen of him he’s an ideal contrast to Gary Hooper,by that I mean he’s a sort of poacher,if the ball’s in the six yard box Tony would be where my money would be on, to put the ball in the net,Gary, who I have no complaint with, has been a bit lax in that area this season, but he will come good.

It’s hard to judge a player after a couple of games but I hope that the manager continues to play him,Tony, and that goes for this Wednesdays game against the Swedes,If Neil has a few spare £££s We need a no nonsense Centre Half,I like Rogne but he’s still a work in progress Centre back,he’s got a few things to learn yet,I’m happy the way the teams shaping up,in fact no complaint’s from me about the teams formation, all I see is improvement, on improvement.

Enjoyed my malt whisky tasting day out with BT,and MWD.and I can see us having another session soon,The Bon Accord Bar is ideal for malt tasting as it has an superabundance of the golden nectar.

The best one I tasted on the night was Springbank 18yr old,but there was one that came a close second called Sheep Dip,name doesn’t do any thing to make you have a second glance, but as the bossman gave us a freebie measure and it was only our second drink of the session,I really enjoyed the tippleThe boss says it’s quite hard to find, but I will be keeping my eyes peeled for a few bottles.I’ll be on-line scouting the whisky shops soon.

Springbank was the drink of my choice, but it’s not a drink you would buy in a bar.(too dear).

  4. Xavi was important but pedro was as important

Three points when not at your best…. That’s what wins leagues…..

  5. Its like Mutiny on the Bounty over at FF. But the wacky mutiny is in no way Christian. The fat man is William Bligh and the scurvy faced buns are sailing the rabid ship HMS Get Him Sacked!

  6. Celtic should loan some of their young bhoys to the div 3 clubs to keep help keep

newco down????……………………………What’s that? ..lucky to get a draw?

  7. To anyone who thinks tony watt is anything but a mega Celtic fan, I’m a driving instructor and have a pupil from coatbridge who went to school with tony. He’s Celtic daft.

    Hola!

Took them @ 5/2 – to get the weekend stake money back. :-)

  9. Thought Barca carried a lot of luck there. Ref gifted them the first goal, although unintentionally, and then had the cheek to send an Ossasuna player off for complaining. Then, they ,missed a great chance to make it 2-0. But Messi does what Messi does: sticks the ball in the net. Easy peasy for Lionel.

    Some strip, by the way.

Anybody know why there were green white and orange flags being waved around the ground.

The situation is obviously desparate at sevco now, when the bib needs to chalk off a Berwick Rangers goal to save them from total meltdown today …… They are a total embarrassment to sport, and to Scottish Football, as are their abhorant fans …… If the SFA don’t do something soon, they will be held legally accountable, at some point, for these illegal sectarian chants….

    Wonkradar,

Have to admit to having a wee peak and left quite quickly after seeing someone at least had the grace to run a thread entitled, “Berwick were robbed.”

I had been curious to see if the incident had been acknowledged.

I think buckinegra and alexander will leave this week, and they won’t be replaced …….. Then the bhuns will finally realise what the (asset-strpping) end game really is …. Then, head for the hills…….LOL!!!!

    sleekit lie sort of way)

  23. There are times when I think some folk don’t see everything that Hooper does during a game- he has played games were his movement has been great, he’s moved defenders out of position, ran the channels, made space for others and generally bossed his opponents…but he hasn’t scored. Those folk I’m talking about have said Hooper was crap. Yesterday, a former striker, a decent one at that, John Robertson, spoke of Gary’s performance in glowing and complimentary tones. Maybe he knew what to look for.

  24. here’s a couple of testers for you all…

How many internationals does it take to get a draw at Berwick?

How many referees do you need in your pocket to avoid defeat at Berwick?

    answers on a postcard….

  25. It is ironic, yet not in any way humorous that Sevco will revert to type and buy their way out of Div 3. Cash spend will mask the poor coaching. Once again managing the odds in their favour. It’ll be considered legal this time.

Embarrassing is the word Ally – you complete dolt.
