When an asset becomes a daunting liability

1665

With Ukio Bankas bankrupt there is an acceptance that Hearts, who owe the bank in the region of £15m, will go into administration shortly after the end of the season.  This might not be the case.

Hearts major problem is their major asset, Tynecastle Stadium, which occupies a valuable patch of land in Edinburgh.  If administrators acting on behalf of Ukio have free access to the stadium they may shut it and look to recoup their loans by selling the land.  There is a possibility Hearts could be a football club without a stadium, but that does not necessarily mean they will go into administration.  Without a stadium to use the club would be liquidated but there is a possibility they would be able ground-share.

Hearts tested the land value before the property crash and received an offer of £22m from a house builder.

Alternatively the bank’s administrators could use their considerable influence over how the club is managed to sell their shares or come to some other arrangement (Ticketus, anyone?). When the major creditor has this much control of the company without administration, going through the formal process could actually harm their chances of getting their money back.

Military uniforms, Royal Wedding scarves, World War One & Two flags, brown brogues and fat people attempting to kick a medicine ball off the crossbar.

  6. Re NFL’s ban, we should do whatever will embarrass those corrupt bandits the most on cup final day. The players should not lift any trophy or medal without the manager, in fact I wouldn’t lift it at all.

A statement from the club regarding the victimisation of the manager at his place of work, it’s a long list.

The supporters can play their part in this, a joint statement by the associations of why they walked out the stadium at full time.

I wouldn’t take a ticket for the cup final if it was free.

  7. The mantra would be, ‘Long may Sevco spend, spend, spend’.

But it won’t be long. Not at all.

  8. NO TO NEWCO- I have (several days ago) signed the petition re 5 point agreement and the pole re SFA. How to progress?? The rest of the clubs fans must be brought in as last year to pressurize their own clubs.

IMO this is made more difficult by the fact that Sevco fans believe that the SFA are biased against them as do the Celtic fans. This I believe has been deliberately contrived, not that this has been difficult to achieve though!

The other clubs’ fans have always believed that the big clubs (Old Firm) with some justification have always got more than their share of decisions, so its just them both being paranoid!

In the meantime the SFA have been able to sit back and give off the justification that as both sides equally think that they are against them then they are taking the middle path and doing their job fairly.

We have got to get all fans together to sort out the SFA, this is the be all to end all!

    God rest his soul.

Prayers iffrred and cabdke will be lit tomorrow by mini bt at mass.

  10. If we win…I’d like the Bhoys to wear T shirts with one letter on the front that will spell out ‘Sack RC Ogilivie’ in the team photo.

    crc you have mail.

The Sevconians should be hanging their heads in shame today for the way their dead club behaved instead they’ll celebrate. Sums up their crassness.

  11. Richie – sorry for your loss will keep him in our prayers may he rest in peace

    Yip, spot on.

Folk forget all too easily that whatever Rangers were under Murray, they were built on other people’s money.

Murray’s debt/equity swaps served merely to load £70M onto MIH’s debt, owed to HBoS, and subsequent to the collapse of both MIH and HBoS, it is now owed to the Lloyds shareholders, amongst others you, me and every other taxpayer in the country.

During the Murray years, cumulative losses of £168M were sustained, the cash supporting which has never been repaid. This is before Craig Whyte arrived!

Additionally, a further £44M was ‘saved’ through the use of the EBT scheme.

That’s about £10M per season for 20 years of burning other people’s money to sustain a hideous vanity project. Now they’re burning £12M per season.

    Mental.

  15. Whilst it seems petty that Neil Lennon got banned for a sweaty word, I have to ask, if he done so, why did he infringe the rules of the ban? Or why was he allowed to? There are some at the club who must be responsible for the administration and therefore know the rules.

So can only conclude it was deliberate.

Probably with the consent of his boss.

Why? I can only speculate that it is a plan to force them (SFA) to show their hand. We must surely have something up our sleeve.

Any other reason just looks like incompetence. And Neil is too clever for that.
