White shirted fitness freaks arrive at Training Centre

911

Fixtures are out and the management team are in-situ at Bobbylennoxtown; the air of anticipation for a new chapter in a 126-year-old story lies heavy over Celtic supporters.  I wish we were starting tomorrow.

If you are a Celtic player, what would your overbearing sentiment be today?  If it was me, looking at photos of those two white-shirted fitness freaks at the Training Centre today, I’d be tempted to get out for a run, before the real business starts next week.

There are only a few things a manager can do in his first few days in charge of a new squad but setting standards for fitness and training are two clear examples.  Monitoring is not just about stepping on the scales anymore, the players will have their body fat, glycogen levels and heart beats documented from when they get back and throughout the season thereafter.  With benchmarks for all, as well as performances.  I’m feeling tired even thinking about it.

That would be a characteristic they share with Celtic fans.

  2. Linekars shite there about balotelli tweets.

He would like a kiss from queen Lizzie if he scores the goals that let England go through.

Ignoring the fact old Lizzie is supporting Germany, her home team.

And Philip is going mental about Celtic letting sammi go.

Twists, England were not only lacklustre but they seem petrified when Uruguay ran at them with the ball.

To be fair to Hodgson, he’s only saying what most decent managers say. He did likewise the other evening when he talked about how great Italy were as a means of complimenting his own players. What choice does he have, he has to keep his team in good spirits given that they can still qualify. Also, he knows from experience that the English press are guaranteed to hammer his side as usual.

  7. Frazer Forster is a better goalie than Hart. Hart has gone backwards this last 2 years, whereas Forster is still improving. FF may have reached the first Suarez goal and would have been off his line quicker for the second. Balotelli would have been watching him hold the cross in the first game, and reached the first goal. I don’t know what it is with England and goalkeepers. Ray Clemence was over-rated and Shilton was outjumped by a 5.5 inch tall player using a Hand of God.

Their best keeper at the time only got a handful of caps—Joe Corrigan of Man City.

By the way–Packy Bonner was no great shakes.

I’m very fussy about my goalkeepers.

Delaney’s, the polis have never changed in the 33 years since that game. I assume it was the 3 1 game at Celtic Park in 1981. Picking on our fans then (even though it was to save you from a bigger doin), picking on them more now .

    Charlie was our darlin then.

I worked with Felix for six years in the Clydebank social,he was some man. Last year someone we previously both worked with wanted to contact him but I didn’t have his number. About a week later as we were going into a game who walks by us, Felix. He has a similar hairstyle as your good self now. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen him since.

Ernie, maybe so but there is a slight difference between a club side and a national side.

It’s only our support that has unrealistic expectations whereas with England it’s the whole country.

As regards Scotland wee are so poor these days that any type of goat would get a game. That would certainly get the thumbs up from the leading lights at the SFA.

Back home tomorrow apart from long walks of around 5 miles every day not much fitness activity.

Seen the wonderful Roman theatre remains at Cartegena ( Murcia) today, absolutely wonderful how they have preserved and conveyed this to the public.

Need to get back into shape for next Thurs 5 or 7s?.

See Henderson getting a bit of a doing….Wellbeck? Did he even touch the ball?

Re Rooney…tries hard but little talent…..doesn’t look after himself properly….England have way too many average players who are overhyped by the English media.

It was his ” we controlled the game other than the opening few minutes” comment that made me sit up. 5 mins into the second half they were lucky not to concede 2, and possibly 3 goals. When they equalised, the momentum was with them, but I certainly don’t think they controlled the game at any point.

I thought they were unfortunate that the ref didn’t reduce Uruguay to 10 men in the first half, but overall, I felt they got what they deserved.

Given what Costa Rica did to Uruguay, I feel they taper beeping written off as cannon fodder by an awful lot of people. They are capable of picking up a point tomorrow.

Have to say Ive not heard one English person say they’d win the world cup or even get close to it.

Most have accepted that they aren’t great shakes and all they could hope for would be 2nd place in the group (think most fans hope for 2nd place when you know your team aint great).

Strictly speaking he may still be a Celtic player as we will hold his registration until he signs for a new club.
