Who stole Jason?

931

Delighted for Wales last night but what’s happened to Jason Denayer? Since ending his loan period at Celtic a year ago he’s made 15 starts for Galatasaray. He was hooked on four of those occasions, which is a high percentage substituted for a defender. Gala won their first four league games with Jason in the team but won only once in his final 10 appearances. The point was made to me last night that he looked overweight.

In his 12 months at Celtic he polished his rough edges and established himself as a top performer in the most effective defence we’ve had in years. Manchester City were not prepared to let him return to Celtic as the reckoned he simply wasn’t being stretched.

He signed a new contract at Man City before heading for Turkey, but their new management team are unlikely to promote him to their first team squad. He’s unlikely to have impressed anyone at the Euros and Galatasaray won’t be as keen as Celtic were to have him back.

Is it possible we’re the only ones who know what he’s capable of? I’d have him back tomorrow.

Geezo…..only 2 more friendlies and about 9 days before our 1st Champions League qualifier!

Not much time for Brendan to get to know the players, get their match fitness up and to try to shape a team!

We looked pretty fit today, will take a few games for Brendan’s style of play to get on the park.

  8. Hearing Efe could be off and Boyata not fancied. Toure and Duffy, Charlie stalling on signing, could he joining the man that signed him for Celtic?

Not a fan of Pardew, but he said when Shearer and Neville say they want the England job,it makes his blood boil. These 2 have taken charge of about 25 games between them and failed,so why do they think they can cure the ills of a shambolic football nation? I see the FA want to talk to Gerrard about a role as well,I hope these people never learn.

  12. How come Stuart Amstrong is played ‘out of position’ wide left by successive managers?

This was his defence for poor form by Celtic supporters for every game he’s played in a season and a half.

Just reading back, some folks need to calm down. Two friendly matches played with multiple subs made. BR still assessing the squad and having a look at everyone. Just now about fitness more than anything else. If we win or lose 3-0 it doesn’t really count for anything.

  14. Timreaper

I can’t see any reason for you telling people to calm down.

Most people are just giving opinions on the 2 games to date.

Everyone has differing opinions but no hysterics.

But the general consensus is that Brendan is assessing his squad and he will know what to do regards who stays and goes.

  15. So far the commentators have only brought England into the conversation about 50 times in first 15 minutes.

    Gone but not forgotten.

As is the case in every televised tournament England get dumped out of early.

  16. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Ivy Tyldsley was slightly more tolerable than Clive ‘England’ Tyldsley .

Some friends I have down south think he is intolerable also.

  17. IMO Brendan is looking at different combinations in different positions,

I would go for Messi and suarez
