Whyte, Ticketus or their proxy the only show in town

971

Sterling work by Chris McLaughlin at the BBC who brought us the news that Duff and Phelps have rejected a bid for Rangers from Brian Kennedy, the owner English rugby club, Sale Sharks.  Earlier today Kennedy suggested the administrators get their act together and move towards appointing a preferred bidder.

A preferred bidder may now be identified, if not yet publicly announced.

I can imagine the process to whittle bidders down:

‘Tell me, do you own Ibrox Stadium or security and floating charge over it?’

‘No?  Ah, that’s a problem, as we don’t have it either.  Where do you propose to play matches?’

‘Forget that one, someone tipped off St Mirren.’

‘Don’t take that tone with me, we’re doing our best in difficult circumstances and we’ve not been paid a pound.  Yet.’

Craig Whyte controls the security and floating charge over Ibrox.  He provided Ticketus with security for the money they due on the season tickets they purchased, worth in the region of £40m.

Mr Whyte and Ticketus, or a proxy, are the only show in town – and that show is not a CVA.  Everything else is just shooting the breeze at £600 per hour.

  1. After the astonishing moves by the Scottish judiciary, I can’t help but wonder “What if the shoe was on the other foot?”

What would be happening if a couple of malcontents had sent these devices to the legned, or even McMoist, Donald Findlay and that Labour clown Davidson?

Would the charges have been changed then?

If they had been sent to high profile figures in the Asian community or the Jewish community. Would the charges have been amended?

  2. Just watched the Beeb’s weather forecast there.

Why am I, a bloke from Glasgow, even slightly interested in the quality of skiing in Indian Squaws – or whatever – in Canada or America?

  4. I’ve just read a piece in the online Express by Charlie Nicholas. What a horrible little creep of a man. He’s claiming NL is tainting the title by his actions!! He also mentions getting away from the “paranoia” that Celtic supporters feel. Ban the wee bastard, along with Jabba and Nevin and the rest of the lickspittles. A level playing field should not be just on the football pitch. He was as bad after the match on Sunday. Neil McCann was looking at him as if even he couldn’t believe the level of toadying.

Its a very hunnish sytle of argument to obfuscate the current situation in south america, but then its the same people making both arguments.

I can tell you simply this renewed propaganda war is all down to Cuba’s oil find, massive reserves found just off the coast, and when its tapped, the yanks will have to do business, it will stick in their craw and I for one will be delighted

  7. Raymac, have copied the article to save giving his paper any hits. WTF is it with all these ex players of ours. I know the main reason is to keep them in employment, but 30 pieces of silver ffs.

    Friday March 30,2012

CELTIC legend Charlie Nicholas last night declared the only person tainting the Hoops forthcoming Title glory is manager Neil Lennon.

With the team boss now facing three SFA disciplinary charges Nicholas believes he has become an ” embarrassment ” to the club and taken deserved credit away from the players.

Nicholas is adamant that the focus should all be on a side that has been very worthy of claiming the SPL Flag instead of becoming a managerial sideshow soured by frequent rows over refereeing decisions.

“It should all be about the team and their achievements on the park but now it has become more about Neil Lennon, squabbling again with referees and how the officials helped to blow Celtic’s treble. ” he declared.

“It has come from a point where they were 21 points ahead and nobody could argue if they walked away with the title by more than 20 points because the players have worked hard and chalked up an impressive run.

But that now seems to have gone and now and the manager is taking centre stage

    Charlie Nicholas

“But that now seems to have gone and now and the manager is taking centre stage. Celtic are , of course, going to win the title but they should just go and do it the right way in my book instead of getting involved in more rows with officials.

“Lennon now seems to have a one-man agenda of I want this and that and the football, which has been this season’s success story, is quickly being forgotten about. ”

“He has built up all the goodness and now he is on the verge of throwing it all away again.”

“Celtic are the best club on the planet when it comes to using paranoia but we have to get away from that.”

Che eh? God love him .. as I’m sure that entity of entities does….Catholics criticizing idealogy… Mind numbing hypocrisy of galactic magnitude.

Had a look at the link and was absolutely astonished ( well no really) to see a “Rick Santorum for President” ad. Sums it all up really….methinks in that tired old CQN cliche (is that one?).

On the topic of Galactic hypocrisy I see that the Judge in the attempted Murder of Neil Lennon trial has instructed the jury to base all the evidence on the depraved indifference to IEDs motion of the defence.

    Outcome should be astonishing. Not!

  23. wow -on c4 website article

Quite simply, it could be one of the biggest sporting scandals the UK has ever seen. On the one hand you have the Big Tax Case where the revenue says Rangers owe almost £50m in unpaid taxes.

Alongside that, there’s the issue of player registration. Because of the club’s tax arrangements, it is possible they fielded player after player without telling either the Scottish FA or Scottish Premier League about those players’ full salary details.

If they didn’t tell them – and this is still the subject of investigation – every match they played in could be forfeit to the other side 3-0, and a whole lot of silverware will leave Rangers to be re-engraved and presented to another club.
