Whyte, Ticketus or their proxy the only show in town

971

Sterling work by Chris McLaughlin at the BBC who brought us the news that Duff and Phelps have rejected a bid for Rangers from Brian Kennedy, the owner English rugby club, Sale Sharks.  Earlier today Kennedy suggested the administrators get their act together and move towards appointing a preferred bidder.

A preferred bidder may now be identified, if not yet publicly announced.

I can imagine the process to whittle bidders down:

‘Tell me, do you own Ibrox Stadium or security and floating charge over it?’

‘No?  Ah, that’s a problem, as we don’t have it either.  Where do you propose to play matches?’

‘Forget that one, someone tipped off St Mirren.’

‘Don’t take that tone with me, we’re doing our best in difficult circumstances and we’ve not been paid a pound.  Yet.’

Craig Whyte controls the security and floating charge over Ibrox.  He provided Ticketus with security for the money they due on the season tickets they purchased, worth in the region of £40m.

Mr Whyte and Ticketus, or a proxy, are the only show in town – and that show is not a CVA.  Everything else is just shooting the breeze at £600 per hour.

  1. Cha appeal rejected. Half my prediction fulfilled.

Murray/Brines stuffing Neil is the other half …. and I am confident that this too will manifest itself.

He was so slow with everything but his cards for Celtic players.

    MWD, that’s the very bhoy!

Thanks for that – watching it just now.

  4. Funny how Cha’s appeal was dismissed so quickly but then again, the decision was an easy one for them to make.

Meanwhile, decisions involving Rangers are taking longer than it took Shelley Winters to die on the SS Poseidon. Sheesh.

    like this bit

“The paper claims that Whyte – who has run the venerable club into administration with debts of around £75 million since taking over last year ”

    its all his fault

We all know that a licence should never have been granted to them, but the hun do as the hun do, they look after their own, and feck the consequences.

All the talk of impending doom and their imminent demise, am having a rethink about it all, they are too cocky for my liking.

They should be gone by now, the admin men should have cut costs and got rid of a serious ammount of staff.

Two directors and two low wage playing staff have gone, now thatt stinks to high heaven, all the time they are racking up humungous fees, which I don’t have a problem with, the more the better in the long run.

But what of the SFA/SPL, they have done nothing, and I doubt they will do anything, or they would have done so by now.

The hun have not paid taxes or NI or VAT since May and not a cheep from the powers that be, why is that then ?

Aye the powers that be have powers that would fear the ordinary man, i had a good feeling last week about this, but that good feeling has gone, and the court rulling today has just reinforced that not good feeling.

Did Motherwell not do us a turn when we last won the league?

You remember…..the gonnae gies an extension – we already did – naw you didnae – aye we did – oh feck it, the tellys broke so lets wreck Manchester…season.

Of course, if my recollection is correct, it would pre-date the arrival of the mullet.

  8. Noticed some posts re. Motherwell tonight. This is from Tam Cowan, season ticket holder, after 3-0 defeat at Ibrox from depleted rangers in January;

“Two post-match quotes from Stuart McCall stuck in my craw.

1 – “It would have been interesting if we’d got the first goal to see how the crowd would react.”

Sure thing, Stu. But it’s hard to get the first goal when all the players are standing back admiring Rangers.

2 – “When we came in 1-0 down at half-time, I thought we’d make changes and go for it.”

Nah, we should have gone for it right from the start.

Listen, despite their problems on and off the field, I don’t expect a team with 50,000 crowds and players earning the sort of dosh the Motherwell lads can only dream about to provide an easy three points.

But I do expect us to at least have a go. Especially when, yes, we’ll never get a better chance.”

The wee tax bill was for £2.4m. CW paid £500k leaving £1.9m plus penalties.

After paying the £500k Rangers in Sept/Oct appealed it and the penalty.

HMRC sent in the SOs in Aug to get the £1..9m and that amount was seized and held by the bank until Dec.

I lost track if that was then taken by HMRC but the penalty as I understand is under appeal.I think its a M plus to give a total of £4.? part of which was paid voluntary up front but not the balance, part of which Rangers appealed belatedly.

It is all about obsfuscation because the consequences of a licence being wrongly granted would sink the SFA.

Alex T had the issue on his list but I have not seen the interview with Regan to see if he was asked or what he answered.

  14. Evening all.

    Just watched the news there.

Robert Redford saying that when he made the film All the President’s Men he was lucky as journalists from that era had a `morality’ that led their work ethos/practices. He said that he believes that this has `slipped’ now.

Mirror’s (no pun intended) our own wee country, does it not? There were a few hacks back in the day who could `tell it like it was’, but no more. Jabba’s `integrity’ could be bought for a lamb kebab. The rest follow (follow) like lambs.

Turnbull’s direction to jurors today is questionable at least. A month of evidence dismissed on a technicality the day before the jury sits. Surely this would/should have surfaced before now? Inept prosecution? Dunno, but I remember how an Edinburgh jury sits in judgement.

If I sent Fat Sally a box of doughnuts laced with arsenic and he got them but didn’t eat them. Would I still be liable for prosecution?

    A. No. To think that Sally wouldn’t eat them is not viable.

    TET

The SFA were never going to make a decision today as it might have put them in the position of withholding a club licence.

They will be back in the same spot on Monday as no ratified accounts will have been received but again they will not withhold a licence simply because without a licence thete is no business to sell and the SFA do not want to be the ones to end Rangers.

Celtic are well aware of the rules and the SFA are providing them with enough evidence that they are not fit for purpose.

What the SFA do not seem to realise is that their credibilty is going, going, gone.

There job is to govern and Alex T accused Regan of not doing it.

Any more and the SFA will have no point and Celtic will have every reason to find a league that will accept them with UEFAs blessing.

Closing theatrics tomorrow followed by judges guidance to Juror’s (obviously focusing on the law taking into account the facts of the case with exclusion of some of the original charges that the jurors will have scored out on their wee sheets with a lead pencil).

Then it’s jury out to consider their prejudice’s in relation to the facts that fit.
