Whyte, Ticketus or their proxy the only show in town

971

Sterling work by Chris McLaughlin at the BBC who brought us the news that Duff and Phelps have rejected a bid for Rangers from Brian Kennedy, the owner English rugby club, Sale Sharks.  Earlier today Kennedy suggested the administrators get their act together and move towards appointing a preferred bidder.

A preferred bidder may now be identified, if not yet publicly announced.

I can imagine the process to whittle bidders down:

‘Tell me, do you own Ibrox Stadium or security and floating charge over it?’

‘No?  Ah, that’s a problem, as we don’t have it either.  Where do you propose to play matches?’

‘Forget that one, someone tipped off St Mirren.’

‘Don’t take that tone with me, we’re doing our best in difficult circumstances and we’ve not been paid a pound.  Yet.’

Craig Whyte controls the security and floating charge over Ibrox.  He provided Ticketus with security for the money they due on the season tickets they purchased, worth in the region of £40m.

Mr Whyte and Ticketus, or a proxy, are the only show in town – and that show is not a CVA.  Everything else is just shooting the breeze at £600 per hour.

What you propose will surely come to pass as it has been written in the minutes!

They will be sent to do their `community service’ painting murals of past and glorious victories on a gable end in deepest Ayrshire.

    You know it makes sense.

I can imagine NFL’s missus opening said package and after peeing her knickers in abject fear saying, “Oh hold on Neil, those daft wags have sent a `non viable’ explosive device to our home. Just as well the wee one didn’t open it as she woudn’t have known better. Some people eh, what are they like?”

The silence from Celtic at the minute is telling me everything I want to know.

For months we have been submerged in info from every faction, group, section of support, bombarded with propaganda from every angle.

    Celtic ? NOT A PEEP !

Do you think they have nothing to say? No opinion?

They are playing a blinder in spite of the attempts from every quarter to drag the Club into any sort of dogfight.

Not a word said yet that silence is deafening. It will be worth waiting to hear what they have to say when the time is right.

Last week I would have thought along the self same lines.

This week the doubts are creeping back in, jeez, I wish I had your optimistic outlook.

You can’t deny that something is just no correcto about all this, I can understand that the sfa don’t want to be seen as the bad guys, but ffs, they are breaking all their rules to accomadate them, I saw AT’s interview with Regan, and he asked harder questions than any other scottish hack would have, but he still fell well short imo.

I hope that he really does come up with something, otherwise, it’s same old, same old.

The club have but one option imo, resign, or accept being bum bhoys for the rest of time.

I have no faith that they can in any way facilitate change at the sfa, and that is a sad thing to say mi amigo, but that’s the way I feel.

If there is an exit strategy in the pipeline, which I believe there has been for some time, DD is either playing a blinder here, or he has folded, time will tell.

I sat on a jury around 3 years ago.

I watched in amazement as half or more of the jurors made decisions based on their own prejudice. One fella found it perfectly reasonable to vote based on the team the accused supported.

    It was an eye opener.

2 things got on my nipples during the 3 and a half week case.

    1. Solicitors praying on every prejudice the jurors may hold.

    2. Case should have lasted 1 week as it started normally around 10 stop for lunch 12 back in at 2 and away at 4 unless it was a Friday then the morning sesh went onto 1 and away for the day.

    Such a bloated unnecessary system.

But I would say this. If you get the chance to sit on a jury, take it. It is a real eye opener.

I was not surprised by the Hearts supporter getting off whatsoever. In fact I would have been more surprised if he didnt.

They are all waiting for the FTT to lance the boil for them.

After that they have to clean up the pus or there will be no Scottish football.

When it is no longer in the SFA/SPLs self interest to keep Rangers alive they will drop their support.

Only a real billionaire with no sense can stop the inevitable and none have appeared.

Celtic must be seething by now and will have a lot to say when the time comes.

    Not long I think.

  15. What I don’t get re the huns non payment of tax and NI contributions since last summer, this amounts to some £9 – £11 million pounds, say e.g. we paid the same amount in tax and NI then that means the huns have had an advantage of around £18 – £22 million in this football season alone.

Hows that for live in you’re face cheating!

I’ll be really pissed off (even more) with Scottish football, if they’re not fully punished in relation to their crime.

Ghuys, is it just me, or does this whole issue stink?

Whatever the criticisms of Neil Lennon on this post, regarding teams, formations, etc…

We CANNOT sit by and see charges like this reduced to “assault”….

nor can we sit by the sidelines and argue about which players he chooses, and where….

Neil Lennon has endured more than any other manager, and I want to pledge my support to him – publicly – and without comment on his choices regarding players….

We have a Manager whose spirit defies all others, and whose belief in Celtic permeates all aspects of the team.

I am appalled by Scottish Football.

But my support is behind Neil…his dreams.. his team… and his family….

  28. Really surprised to read many regulars on here dismiss Alex Thomson’s interview as “nothing new” and “same old stuff”.

    Think about it.

Think about the very first question he asked.

And think about who, anywhere in our sports, business or news media, would have had the Henry Halls to ask that question? Alex Thomson has been on the case for 3 or 4 weeks and asked it. Asked it in the context of a British audience.

This story is going places now. It’s going exactly where we hoped it would go but were afraid (for very good reason) that it would not unless an “outsider” got fully enagaged.

The very first question….in case people haven’t seen the interview…….

“This is potentially the biggest corruption scandal in British sport…and yet the SPL deem themselves fit to investigate themselves?”

Boom. And I believe Alex Thomson is sitting on dynamite cards that won’t be played until next week at the earliest. Tomorrow nights Boom will be louder than today’s Boom….but the big cards will be played when the music is at it’s loudest.
