Whyte’s proxy set to step forward for acceptance by SFA, SPL

984

When Duff and Phelps put their initial deadline in place for bidders for Rangers back in March, Celtic Quick News took the view that Craig Whyte was the only show in town and that any successful bid for the company’s assets would have to come from him or his proxy.

We didn’t know who his proxy would be then and we are still not sure – although we could have a pretty good guess.

Place the current SPL and SFA dramas aside for a moment.  If a deal is done to allow a Rangers-Newco to apply to play football next season the new ‘owner’ will be a Craig Whyte appointment.

If this unfolds in the days to come, I fully expect the SFA will take a very long time to consider any Fit and Proper questions, and I expect the SPL board will vote 4-1 to allocate a share in the league to the Newco.

Celtic, united with their own fans, and fans of the Gang of 10 clubs stand in one corner.  The boards of the Gang of 10 want Rangers-Newco money too much to object.  Don’t even count on Newco being subject to the penalties discussed at yesterday’s meeting.

A CQN’er is raising funds for the Wellburn Care Home in Dundee.  Run by the Little Sisters of the Poor, Welburn offers incredible residential support for those in need in the Dundee area.  It is only a viable concern through the dedication of the sisters and volunteers and fundraising initiatives such as sales of work, coffee mornings etc.

You can support their work by bidding for a Celtic top signed by the first team squad at this eBay auction.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

When they say football here will be decimated if the huns aren’t in the SPL,do they mean we’re going to stop producing Champions and Europa League heavyweights who,if not winning the competitions, regularly feature in the finals?

    ————————————–

When was scottish football best represented in Europe? Wasn’t it when Rangers were nowhere and Aberdeen and Dundee were regularly strutting their stuff on the continent?

Scottish football doesn’t need Rangers. Neil Doncaster however, might have financial bonuses at stake.

After reading the papers today and listening to tonight’s phone in I have to agree that the groundwork for keeping the huns in the SPL is being prepared.Neil Doncaster’s,”other teams have come back as newco’s and haven’t been penalised,”was the foundations being laid.Apparently at least one club is being pressured by their bank,(aye right!!) to vote for them to remain. The skulduggery begins.

  7. why do i suspect he hasn’t been lifted for vandalism, but has in fact been lifted for the apparently more serious crime of filming the police while they go about their duty. hmmm.

if i were him i’d form a newvandal, and leave my sentence and asbo behind in oldvandal and then apply for readmission to the lodge with no awkward questions asked and my historical status as “hammer of the chapels, leveller of cludgies” intact. with any luck my mates in northern ireland would have a whip round for me to celebrate our cultural kinship. next season i could continue to attend scottish football grounds with impunity because we arra peepul and we don’t do football banning orders.

  8. How much do Celtic F.C pay to the Strathclyde Police Force to stand about and do absolutely nothing? How much would you like to get paid to stand about and do absolutely nothing? How much?

So Chick Young says Peter Lawwell is the biggest supporter of a Rangers Newco being allowed into the SPL.

    Really Chico?

    How do you know that?

  11. Not once have any of the pundits mentioned that Rangers (IA) being relegated to the 3rd division could be the making of Scottish football. Smaller clubs throughout the divisions would benefit from increased revenue. The save Der Hun campaign is based on the greed of the SPL teams. It is not for the good of Scottish football it is for the benefit of the SPL 10. That is why we can all but guarantee that there will be a Newco Hun team playing in the SPL next season and with a minimum point deduction and financial penalties. Any deductions and penalties imposed will be for the duration of the UEFA ban from European competition that is 3 seasons.

It’s clear a charm offensive is underway. The vote postponed and the online petition signed by thousands was discarded as we don’t know what we want. Doncaster is interviewed by “journos” who want the same thing and what do we get? 2 or 3 days of the same positive spin being put on newco in SPL.

We, and I don’t just mean you, me and all the other ghirls and bhoys out there, are being told a story of the plague and pestilence which will befall us if newco is not submitted.

You, me, the dons, the buddies, the pars, the hibbies, the jambos….. are all being sold a horror story. That story is that none of us can survive, for even 3 seasons, without them. Yet what Scottish football needs above all, are clubs that spend less then they earn. Simples.

Spending more than what could be afforded is what go the hun where they are. Now we are being told if we don’t forgive them, many other big spenders will suffer.

So where does this all end?

A damming indictment of the Celtic board? Perhaps not it is ambiguous enough that ‘successor’ could define any team that replaces Rangers in the SPL not only a Newco.
