When Duff and Phelps put their initial deadline in place for bidders for Rangers back in March, Celtic Quick News took the view that Craig Whyte was the only show in town and that any successful bid for the company’s assets would have to come from him or his proxy.
We didn’t know who his proxy would be then and we are still not sure – although we could have a pretty good guess.
Place the current SPL and SFA dramas aside for a moment. If a deal is done to allow a Rangers-Newco to apply to play football next season the new ‘owner’ will be a Craig Whyte appointment.
If this unfolds in the days to come, I fully expect the SFA will take a very long time to consider any Fit and Proper questions, and I expect the SPL board will vote 4-1 to allocate a share in the league to the Newco.
Celtic, united with their own fans, and fans of the Gang of 10 clubs stand in one corner. The boards of the Gang of 10 want Rangers-Newco money too much to object. Don’t even count on Newco being subject to the penalties discussed at yesterday’s meeting.
A CQN’er is raising funds for the Wellburn Care Home in Dundee. Run by the Little Sisters of the Poor, Welburn offers incredible residential support for those in need in the Dundee area. It is only a viable concern through the dedication of the sisters and volunteers and fundraising initiatives such as sales of work, coffee mornings etc.
You can support their work by bidding for a Celtic top signed by the first team squad at this eBay auction. Your help is greatly appreciated.

that is why I’m waiting and watching.
Season book deadline is like a Duff n Phelps deadline.
I’ll buy my tickets in my own time as and when I deem Celtic to have not been complicit in the decision to allow Newco Huns into league or not buy them at all.
“STRONG STATEMENTS” will not cut it.

well done Terry.

Know your Trolls. How to tell a Troll from A Hun
Seems to me the commentators and Club chairmen will welcome Hunco based on a number of assumptions. the main one being that they will continue to receive the blue pound. But what about the green pound? If Rankers are readmitted Celtic fans will likely boycott away matches and they will lose the green pound. Celtic playing their cards close to their chest but we need action from both club and support ahead of season ticket renewals.
‘Debate’ even – dooh
A little something for May Day:
I am knackered. Knackered with all this rangers business, knackered with my job, knackered worrying about my own finances, my job, my kids and a whole heap of other stuff that I am not at liberty to divulge.
In all our anger against these cheating conniving scumbags getting away with it I hope you are all keeping some back for the other bunch of cheating conniving scumbags who are running a minority government and stealing money out of your pockets in the real world.
I worry that too many people have too many distractions to notice what is going on around them.
I come on here to escape it sometimes but find myself caught up in it and getting annoyed and then I wonder if there are people caught up in so many other relatively trivial things (and yes, I know £75 million in unpaid taxes is not trivial!) and that is why there isn’t civil unrest on the streets as a result of the assault on working people that is currently taking place. I had the misfortune to watch a bit of TOWIE yesterday (shudder), I’ve seen an episode of Geordie shore and I hear the soul less music that is popular today and it is nothing but chewing gum for the mind and anaesthetic for the soul. Talk about alienation. Glue them to the TV, the Internet, Facebook…….. and then rob them.
We have been well shackled. Time to break out and break free.
I know it’s a football blog but I know you’ll understand as people who see the bigger picture and past the lies and obfuscations of the mainstream media. In fact this whole rangers thing is like a parable for the way things are in wider society.
For those who are familiar with Plato’s Analogy of the Cave (or the Matrix for the crass among you) you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Evening All – catching up on all the posts after a two day absence.
Paul67 – apologies if this has been asked and answered already but …
Having read your previous article about Neil Doncaster and his selective examples I was wondering … Is it possible that his contract includes a performance related bonus based on commercial or TV revenue brought into the SPL?
If so this would be a strong motivation to keep a certain club in the club …. and is clearly a conflict of interest.
Anyone have any intel (or even idle gossip) ?

The gang of 10 don’t seem to appreciate as you do the fact that it will not benefit them one bit to get the Huns and lose the Tims.
But Celtic F.C. can never give even tacit approval to a fan bhoycott of away grounds. That might please them but they could never be seen to countenance such a move by the fans. They are after all part of the club that is the SPL.
No newco in the third division.
I think I will start a new team and apply for every division in Scotland. In fact I think we all should. If there are two to twenty two thousand teams applying for say, the SPL then why pick the one that has screwed every other club in Scotland, oh and a few in Europe as well.
Shameless, absolutely utterly shameless.
Lot of dog analogies on Snyde.

Celtic are seeded 15th which means we are in the top half of the draw and therefore top seeds.
If Bayern win the CL or Chelsea win it while finishing 3rd in the EPL, the Belgian Champs go straight in. Should this happen then Celtic will be the second highest seeds with the Romanian champs above us in 14th place.
Here are the seeds and teams:
14. Romanian Champs – 3 way fight – Cluj, Rapid Bucharesti, Dinamo Bucharest
15. Celtic
16. Swiss Champs – Basel
The teams below in this section must play in round 2 against the others below them. If they all get through, they will be top half seeds for round 3 with the three listed at 14- 16.
17. Israeli Champs Ironi Kiryat Shmona
18. Czech Champs – either Sparta Prague or Viktoria Plzen
19. Austrian Champs – Salzburg or Scumbag Rapid Wien
20. Cypriot Champs – Looks like AEL
21. Bulgarian Champs – CSKA Sofia will win it
22. Croatian Champs – Dynamo Zagreb
23. Belorussian champs – Bate Borisov
These are the other teams:
24. Poland – Legia Warszawa, Slask Wroclaw, Ruch Chorzow, Lech Poznan or Kielce – a very tight league
25. Slovakia – Zilina, Spartak Trnava, Slovan Bratislava or Senica – another tight league
26. Molde (Norway)
27. Partizan Belgrade – Serbia
28. Helsingborgs – Sweden
29. Bosnia – Very likely to be Željezničar
30. Finland – HJK Helsinki
31. ROI – Shamrock Rovers
32. Hungarian Champions – Debrecen are miles ahead.
33. Moldovan Champions – Sherrif are way in front
They must play the lower placed teams first.
Who do you fancy?
I would not miss playing they shower, in fact many a time I simply do not watch the game.
I think that Polish referees are better than Scottish. They are all part of the Ultras and give signals to start performances.
Last Legia game performance
Hugh Keevins asserts that the Celtic Board are in favour of Rangers being retained in SPL.
Chic Young states that Peter Lawwell is the biggest advocate of rangers being saved.
Peter Lawwell keeps quiet while people tell him what he is thinking and preferring.
What’s in it for PL to stay quiet?
Robert Tressel,
I’d miss the Derby but I’d be more regretful re that other mob not getting appropriately punished so a few years without a league game against that bigoted mob, I could tolerate for justice 2b done.

My feeling on this is that Celtic supporters have to take a two tiered approach.
1. Support Celtic financially – continue to go to games and pay for tickets in whatever way suits the individual, Ch67, merchandising etc. In other words be a Celtic supporter! We cannot damage our own club as a result of lack of integrity among others.
2. Make it very clear that those who demonstrate that lack of integrity and seek to bypass justice will be punished by the Celtic supporters by a boycott of their stadium. If the SFA are complicit then Celtic supporters should also boycott hampden and the national team. If the SPL are complicit then we boycott the league cup too. There will be a certain financial impact from this and I don’t think we should boycott any home game in any competition even where some money is going to other clubs or the SPL but Hampden should be a no go for us. All the better if our team reach a final and there are empty spaces where we should be – explain it to the world!
In short there should be a price paid for lack of integrity – but not by the club we love.
Big Nan
Have Rangers been punished for using their official website to threaten SPL clubs with implied boycotts etc…?

I am afraid that all indications are that a Newco will be in the SPL next season.
The only thing I can see that would stop this happening would be intervention from UEFA under its policy for financial fair play.
As much as would like to see the Celtic PLC take the moral high ground I honestly believe that all they will do is make a statement or 2 and vote against a Newco knowing they will be out voted. However I hope I am very wrong.
Ah Chic Young and Hugh Keevins the truthful twins.
They would never be likely to lie about Lawwell.
Until we meet again…
Keep the Faith!

Of course not but then the rules for thems is different as we all know full well.
Twas ever thus.
Fellow Celts, I need your help.
My parents recently had to go into full time care in Wellburn Care Home, Lochee, Dundee. Run by the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Welburn offers incredible residential support for those in need in the Dundee area. It is only a viable concern through the dedication of the sisters and volunteers and fundraising initiatives such as sales of work, coffee mornings etc.
The sisters need cash to maintain the home for the benefit of the residents, you cannot visit there and not be inspired by the work the sisters do.
All our favourite players have signed the top which is in mint condition and in a fantastic presentation box.
You can support the work of The Little Sisters Of The Poor by bidding for this Celtic top signed by the first team squad at this eBay auction.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for that. Informative stuff. Looking forward to it. A major reason for people not to walk away.
Whatever happens with them we really need to remember what we are supporting – a great club, a well run club, a bastion of the beautiful game with a support welcome everywhere in the world outside of Scotland and some parts of the north of Ireland. Any of those clubs and most of the bigger ones around Europe will love to see us coming and know they are in for a bit of a party (and quite possibly 3 points such is our away record in Europe!!!!!!)
Love Celtic, love Justice, keep the Faith
I’m sure Shuggie and Chicklet are two of PL’s best buddies and closest confidantes. They probably make up a regular golf foursome with PL and DD too.
