When Duff and Phelps put their initial deadline in place for bidders for Rangers back in March, Celtic Quick News took the view that Craig Whyte was the only show in town and that any successful bid for the company’s assets would have to come from him or his proxy.
We didn’t know who his proxy would be then and we are still not sure – although we could have a pretty good guess.
Place the current SPL and SFA dramas aside for a moment. If a deal is done to allow a Rangers-Newco to apply to play football next season the new ‘owner’ will be a Craig Whyte appointment.
If this unfolds in the days to come, I fully expect the SFA will take a very long time to consider any Fit and Proper questions, and I expect the SPL board will vote 4-1 to allocate a share in the league to the Newco.
Celtic, united with their own fans, and fans of the Gang of 10 clubs stand in one corner. The boards of the Gang of 10 want Rangers-Newco money too much to object. Don’t even count on Newco being subject to the penalties discussed at yesterday’s meeting.

It is only a viable concern through the dedication of the sisters and volunteers and fundraising initiatives such as sales of work, coffee mornings etc.
You can support their work by bidding for a Celtic top signed by the first team squad at this eBay auction. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I thought the need for a club to comply with League rules acted as a comfort blanket for the Banks, particularly HBOS/Lloyds.
If the league makes it easier to phoenix, the comfort that loans and overdrafts will be repaid is severely diminished.
Expect to see a whole raft of facilities being reduced and called in.
A vote for Newco could hurt other clubs rather than benefit them.

Beating Rangers is the best feeling in the world, footballing wise! Sunday was simply fantastic, I’d miss it, no doubt. The joy of the fans upon exiting the stadium was a beautiful sight. It was great to see.
Of course it’s painful seeing them win but that is life. At those times, I take solace from the fact that I’m not 1 of them, never have been and never will be.
I’ll never, ever tire of beating them.

We can only play Rapid IF one of the following are knocked out in round 2 –
17. Israeli Champs Ironi Kiryat Shmona
18. Czech Champs – either Sparta Prague or Viktoria Plzen
20. Cypriot Champs – Looks like AEL
21. Bulgarian Champs – CSKA Sofia will win it
22. Croatian Champs – Dynamo Zagreb
23. Belorussian champs – Bate Borisov
It is unlikely that these sides will get knocked out in round 2 so none of those teams should be our opponents in round 3 but if things go to form we could play one of these in the play offs
19. Austrian Champs – Salzburg or Rapid Wien
20. Cypriot Champs – Looks like AEL
21. Bulgarian Champs – CSKA Sofia will win it
22. Croatian Champs – Dynamo Zagreb
23. Belorussian champs – Bate Borisov
But of course it is unlikely that there won’t be a surprise or two early on in the competition.
I want to play the Slovak champs in round 3 if it is at all possible.

Understood and I sympathise with the viewpoint.
I do not enjoy the atmosphere at Ibrox but I have persuaded myself that the team needs support in that hostile environment.
I could become a better person by not going there but would our team perform as well without our backing?

I will not pay to watch a product which is provenly and factually weighted to the benefit of one club while our clubs incumbents sit back and provide “STRONG STATEMENTS”.
Good luck to you if your happy to throw good money at Celtic when they are happy to play 11 against 15 (Huns, refs, SFA & SPL). Enjoy!

Glasgow Celtic are pleased to announce the signing of Ian Black.
Neil Lennon, when asked what Black would bring to the squad, said” We have many challenges to face next season on many fronts, and the hardest task is keeping players fresh. So we thought by signing Blackie n Blue, we have someone Broonie can kick seven colours out of at training without the fear of suspension.”
Joe Ledley added” Iamhun will give me the opportunity get all my 2 footed challenges out of my system. He is the master at them.”
Black refused to confirm that he had signed for the champions but did say ” My agent has got me a great gig doing cage fighting, but I wouldn’t be adverse to SFL3″.
We cannot allow THEM to survive and continue to perpetrate their fascistic ‘strength through joy’,self preening attitude.
Meanwhile,Minis v Mullet&Co is keech.
Roll on May 13th.
Roll on many happy European Nights.
THEY will not be there.
HH!
This is a direct quote from a rangers fan: “If we can’t survive I want Scottish football to die with us”. And they want to pander to this kind of psychosis?????

Heard thems bring up the crowd declared and not declared issue tonight again on SSB and challenge Terry to “explain that one”. In case you get on b4 me Terry ask him if he is proud that his club owe Nicola Young £3500. Nicola runs a charity that helps children who suffer genocide and cruelty, in war torn countrys all over the world. If them at their “walk” on Saturday had donated 50p each they could have erased this embarrasment from their clubs history!!
I thought Peter Lawwell had made it as clear as needs be that Celtic want to see the back of them. He insisted that Celtic did NOT need thems to continue. Our business plan makes no proviso for them having to be around. To me, that says all that need be said at this time.

If Rangers are allowed to rejoin the SPL as a newco, the SPL has as much sporting integrity as professional wrestling.
I really cannot see how it could be possible to bet on an SPL fixture knowing that the league is structured in such a way so that two teams can never finish outside the top 6 and therefore play each other a minimum of four times per season.
Well it might be possible, horse racing can be bet on a handicap system, perhaps the same thing happens with Rangers such that no Rangers captain can ever get sent off at Ibrox, that sort of thing, oh I forgot, that’s what happens now.
So much for sporting integrity now, what in hell will the future be like?
Liquidation ought to equal castration. It did for Gretna and when they shut their doors, there was an army of Scottish league representatives saying “…I told you so…”, “…they should never have been invited in the first place…”.
All it would take is for an important figure within Scottish Football to dig out the press cuttings re: Gretna and remind them, that for any further liquidations, the unanimous condemnation meted out to Gretna, must do likewise.

in that case, i too hope we get the Slovakian champions

If STRONG STATEMENTS aren’t going to be enough what do you want to see from Celtic?
ps or even thinking abt it!!
Jon Daly to sign for Blackpool in the close season…
Jus’ kidding Jude I know you’re his agent..
Together we are strong – Fight the power.
Fight the Power –
no scottish team aside from us or the horribles has won the top division championship for nigh on 30 years…
now can anyone explain to me exactly how their existence benefits anyone in scottish football aside from themselves?
it doesn’t help us, all that lost champions league revenue… and it doesn’t help the other 8 or 10 depending on the league format, as even if we have a stinker of a season they still have no chance.
i’m not completely convinced there aren’t a few of the other 10 clubs chairmen out there thinking the same.
CFC have lost huge amounts of money through losing league titles to the huns -CL money TV money – gate money – etc
If it emerges that RFC cheated by using ineligible players and that the SPL and SFA knew about this – as any RFC men were also part of the SPL and SFA – could CFC sue the SFA and SPL for the losses they have suffered?

I’ve often wondered why this mentality has gone almost totally unchallenged over the years. The only conclusion that makes any sense is that Scottish society is actually proud of them/it.

I don’t think the seeding works quite as you describe. It is based on each team’s coefficient, not their qualifying position, and any unseeded team in Q2 beating a seeded team will take on their position in Q3 which is drawn before Q2 matches are played – at least that’s what Bert Kassies’ site says.
setting free the bears
The club are prohibited from suing, individual or a collection of shareholders are not, it may well yet come to this, I hope not, because it would mean that they have won.
Uefa, that’s a difficult one to fathom, they will do their level best to keep everything at arms lenght, but I have no doubt the likes of Brian Quinn and PL have been lobbying on our behalf.
This potentially is the biggest scandal in footballs history, do uefa really want everything to come out, I would very much doubt it.
After much racking my brain, I think the end of the season is the aim, this I believe has come about with the cooperation of many parties, the administrators, the sfa. the spl, the police, HMRC, the government, and uefa.
Blending the hun mid season would not be a pleasent sight, remember the carnage when the tele was switched off.
I have always believed that DD has know the state they were in for a time now, that is why they have not splashed out the last few years, it would have been money down the drain, the hun were always going to win no matter what.
Now I have a problem with the board allowing that to happen, but without concrete proof of their cheating, they themselfs were hamstrung, not any more.
The club will act when the time is right, I also believe that DD will do everything in his power to get a move away.
In a perverse sort of way, allowing the hun newco back into the spl sanction free might just be the ticket we need to escape.
Them in Div3. they will always blame everybody else for their troubles, it’s in their supremesist DNA, never their fault, they will shaft all n sundrie without flinching, they see it as their god given right, they are shameless.

Has nobody thought that if thems get into SPL next season, they can only play a kids team, would it not be a laugh hammering 4 times a season for next ten years. I think 10 in a row is on the cards if they survive, otherwise it will be ten in a row against newco, who cares what THEY do
Let me put this simply:
1, If Celtic are complicit in a newco entry to SPL with no or minimum penalties that’s me finished. I will not be abandoning Celtic, they will have abandoned me & my forebears. I will walk away from football full stop.
2, Fully understand Celtic are one vote and can be out voted. It won’t be their fault. In this circumstance I would go to CP (not ST) but never to the offending clubs.
3, If Celtic come out with a full statement regarding how the whole integrity of the game is blown and outline the counter proposals our club made to save the integrity of the sport, which clubs gave us support or not then they have my ST money. A call to arms should be published to ensure a full take up of STs.It will be time to look after ourselves – again!!!
Can Administrators consider a conditional bid?

Putting aside for a second the clear issues around admitting whatever form RFCiA emerge as into next year’s SPL…. That form is likely to be greatly diminished in player quality, and if the transfer ban sticks likely to be a team largley composed of youths (bless them…). It is not outwith the bounds of possibility that they could finish last in the league and be relegated. Would the rules be rewritten again to save the precious TV contract for the next season to keep the required 4 games a year?
Biting the bullet needs to be done now, however difficult it is for the chairmen of SPL clubs that are not viable concerns now.
I doubt we will hear anything from SSM or anyone else from the board until the dust settles.
Why get themselves involved when TFOD, SPL, SFA and the MSM are all doing a fine job of exposing themselves as the biggest bunch of cheats to have graced the game in the British Isles anyway.
Once the decisions have been taken and all the evidence revealed then will be the time for Celtic to act.
If Celtic show their hand too early it will just give TFOD a target to focus on.
Derbyshirebhoy… I cancelled my sports sub today but did mention I was a Celtic supporter. Happy to give you my Acc no with threat to cancel remainder at £23.50 per month, but unlikely to do so. However I will not renew my sports!
