Whyte’s proxy set to step forward for acceptance by SFA, SPL

984

When Duff and Phelps put their initial deadline in place for bidders for Rangers back in March, Celtic Quick News took the view that Craig Whyte was the only show in town and that any successful bid for the company’s assets would have to come from him or his proxy.

We didn’t know who his proxy would be then and we are still not sure – although we could have a pretty good guess.

Place the current SPL and SFA dramas aside for a moment.  If a deal is done to allow a Rangers-Newco to apply to play football next season the new ‘owner’ will be a Craig Whyte appointment.

If this unfolds in the days to come, I fully expect the SFA will take a very long time to consider any Fit and Proper questions, and I expect the SPL board will vote 4-1 to allocate a share in the league to the Newco.

Celtic, united with their own fans, and fans of the Gang of 10 clubs stand in one corner.  The boards of the Gang of 10 want Rangers-Newco money too much to object.  Don’t even count on Newco being subject to the penalties discussed at yesterday’s meeting.

A CQN’er is raising funds for the Wellburn Care Home in Dundee.  Run by the Little Sisters of the Poor, Welburn offers incredible residential support for those in need in the Dundee area.  It is only a viable concern through the dedication of the sisters and volunteers and fundraising initiatives such as sales of work, coffee mornings etc.

You can support their work by bidding for a Celtic top signed by the first team squad at this eBay auction.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

My frustration, anxiety and anger as a result of Doncaster’s attempts at duplicity had me apoplectic earlier this afternoon. I don’t blame Celtic here, as yet they’ve done nothing wrong and I think it’s too early to be critical of the board, and PL in particular, this has a long way to run yet.

My ire is aimed at those in the MSM, the SFA, SPL and the Chief Executives who are electing to ignore integrity and to support greed and cheating instead.

I’ve calmed now but earlier I was reading for packing the whole thing in all together.

Exactly, which is what makes the whole process a murky one, allowing rangers to continue their black ops, even in their death throws.

A new football team will be formed, with the hope that they can play at ibroke and the fans will continue to show up.

The story being peddled is that sanctions, div 3, etc are hindering a take over? The bottom line is that no matter what happens, rangers will die and a new co will be formed, irrespective of sanctions, div 3, etc…

So really what is being argued here is not saving rangers or helping a take over, but p*** off, don’t sanction US.

Sanctions or not the outcome is identical. They just don’t want punished by the league and association, despite it being the ONLY recourse open to justice as things stand.

They broke Her Majesty’s tax laws and they fought that, so what they are arguing is that the SPL and SFA should do what they couldn’t get HMRC to do: Let them off.

And to think ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THEY’D PAID THEIR BILLS.

    Thieves, crooks and imposters.

  6. i watch a lot of things like “air crash investigation” and “seconds from disaster.” seems to me the recurring theme is it’s never something that goes wrong, it’s a sequence of events that lead to tragedy, and if at any point that chain is broken it doesn’t occur. now, it got me thinking…

there are so many ifs, and variables, and steps involved in newcorcs playing unhindered in the SPL next season, it seems desperately unlikely. that’s not to say it couldn’t happen, but the number of assumptions, and the number of events that have to conspire to make it happen…

    keep the faith folks.

why should celtic say anything when as yet there should still be a presumption, in public at least, that justice will be done?

this isn’t the end, this is just the beginning. ;-)

    1. UEFA. They have no obligation to act. But that should not see us not make that request. Let’s face it. If they fail to act on our behalf with regards Scottish footballs cheating and flouting of UEFA’s FFP’s do you think Europes major clubs will not take notice. Man City will laugh their FFP rules out the park. The big boys from the big leagues and little leagues across Europe (Switzerland for example) will be taking not.

    2. If UEFA do not back is then our next option sees us take legal action to recoup lost income. So what do UEFA do? Ban Scottish National team and Clubs playing in their competitions. I believe this could potentially be another Bosman type situation. Take it through the European courts and tie Scottish and European football up for years to come. I wouldn’t be losing any sleep.

    3. So they are going to throw us out the league and cut throw out their SKY deal and sponsorships. Good luck to them with that.

    ………………………………………………………………………..

Hard to argue with a single word of that.

  14. lochgoilhead: No, I am backing that up.

Enrico: absolutely. There’s a book called ‘Tipping Point’ by Malcolm Gladwell, about tipping points in changes of belief, turnaround moments. I don’t believe we’re there yet. I believe we’ve only been reading the first few pages of this, and there’ll be a tipping point when Celtic will say something officialy, when an SPL chairman will speak out, when something will happen.

Whye is still to really play his hand, floating charges to be decided upon, court cases to be heard, battles to be played out, players to be paid in full (or sold), owership of MP and I to be played out. And UEFA to turn up to the party. Loads more to happen before the tipping point.

  15. MWD

I think we’re by passing each other here mate.

I understand your point about offering our resignation with the intention of moving to another league outside of Scotland. I’m talking aloud at this point but I’m not convinced about this. More and more we have people referring to this country as a cesspit of sectarianism, a situation which is getting worse as opposed to better. I’m thinking wouldn’t it be more advantageous for Celtic to remain in Scotland as one of the positive forces against bigotry. I’ve long been of the opinion that things can’t be that bad when every second weekend I’m standing shoulder to shoulder with 50,000 like minded souls representing our own culture and cause. If Celtic depart that powerful weapon goes with it.

Your other points seem to be open to the possibility of Celtic incurring sanctions or penalties or worse and I have genuine difficulty in supporting any action which would see us punished.

I’m not seeking conflict mate I’m really exasperated with the whole effin thing and I want something done I’m just unsure the route to take at the moment.

Celtic only accept 100 tickets for every away game next year. Give 100 tickets to Green Brigade, to ensure Celtic have louder support than home team, and therefore still backing at game. (This would obviously be subject to all other Celtic supporters being willing to boycott away games). But minimum income to other teams.

Celtic get their commercial head on and make a beam back at CP an attractive proposition to watch. I.e. bars, good food, decent bands on the pitch – make an afternoon of it , (I don’t know what makes an attractive event, but I’m sure the professionals do). I.e. make going to CP a better proposition than the local pub to watch the game.

Celtic make more income from away game than the hosting team!

As some may be aware these Club 9 Sports types have me and some other Wednesday fans genuinely worried. Hard to find any examples of deals that they (or their “affiliates” Tobacco Road Capitalists, Prometheus Capital and Dornoch) have actually done.

However, Tobacco Road does list 5 deals on its website. Turns out 4 are just companies that Jon Pritchett used to work for so not ACTUALLY deals. The one proper “deal” – you know, money in, investors etc, was Total Sports Entertainment, which they list as an “achievement” went bust in 2004 owing millions and losing shareholders a small fortune which led to lawsuits in 2004 accusing Jon Pritchett (partner in Club9 and potential future owner) and a gentleman named Bill Miller of breach of contract, wrongful conversion of company monies, mismanagement, breach of fiduciary duty and fraud – not saying they DID these things, but there were lawsuits.

    http://charlotte.bizjournals.com/charlott e/stories/2004/03/01/daily36.html

So imagine my concern when I found out that just last month “Club 9 Sports” was touting a deal to take an Ice Hockey team to San Diego (deal never actually happened) and the supposed “money man” -remember C9S has no money of their own – was a guy named Bill Miller who in the 4 years since declaring TRAC/TSE bankrupt had apparently moved to Tennessee and become a “towing tycoon”.

    http://www3.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/ mar/09/no-home-for-hockey-sullivan/

Made me worry that this Bill Miller (bankrupt/accused crook/towing tycoon) might be involved in our deal. After all Club 9 has no money of their own – they are just a special purpose vehicle set up purely to do a deal with Sheffield Wednesday apparently- so they must have backers. I just hope Bill Miller is not one of them – if anyone would care to ease our fears, because these Club 9 blokes seem hard to get comfortable with and they certainly have not always had a successful track record, if indeed they have a record at all other than this one failed company-that-never-was.

I am genuinely concerned – some transparency would be nice as to who Club 9 Sports really are and who, if anyone, is backing them.

They all want Rangers back in the SPL. Even good old lamb muncher Roddy Forsyth calculated, on his Murray engraved hunometer, that Rangers had outspent Celtic 125 pounds to 1 due to the impact of not paying tax and hiding debt / spending other peoples money.

So, assuming a newco plays by the rules (ok, ok) what sort of Rangers will it be?

It is now obvious that the SFA, SPL, Rangers and even The Bank of Scotland have been in cahoots for at least 15 years to the active detriment of Celtic.

Now that Celtic are financially independent (supposedly) and with the facts being

laid “bear” daily why don’t Celtic start suing in the courts beginning with monies owed?

    English courts preferably.

I will not accept a “Strong Statement”. Mealy mouth words will not cut it with me and I will not return to my Celtic until any person on our current PLC remains insitue. I will be giving up my Celtic. My Celtic that has been a major part of my life for 30. My Celtic a gift I past onto my son. Believe me buddy. Giving Celtic up will not be easy but I am not prepared to jump into the boot of the bus in full knowledge that we were cheated and knowing we will again be cheated after having spent 30 years sitting at the back with suspicions.
