Wind of change set to blow through Lennoxtown

892

There appears to be nothing more than a desire to move-on behind Johan Mjallby’s decision to leave Celtic at the end of the season but it leaves the original four man coaching team of Neil Lennon, Alan Thompson, Mjallby and Garry Parker reduced down to two.  The management team needs to be rebuilt.

Assistants do more than just put the cones out and get players go through their paces.  They are an extra pair of eyes and ears, at the side of the field and in the dressing room.  When they are most effective, they are a source of learning, bringing improved techniques and ideas into the club, forcing the manager to reconsider established practices.

Strip some of the greats of their productive partners and they proved to be prosaic underachievers; Cough without Taylor was a sorry sight.  By contrast, Ferguson played the assistants’ game perfectly, swapping them every few years to enhance his stock with fresh flavour.

Alan Thompson was not directly replaced but irrespective of the speculation which constantly surrounds the club, a wind of change will blow through Lennoxtown this summer, filling the gaps in the original four man team.

If you’ve wondered about getting involved with some of the charity events surrounding the club there is a perfect opportunity coming up.  The Foundation is having a badge day at the Dundee United game on Sunday 11 May.  This is an important opportunity to anchor the ethos of the club to its roots by engaging thousands of Celtic fans in the simple act of buying a badge for charity.

All monies raised will go towards supporting those afflicted by homelessness in the Glasgow area.  I volunteered to help on the day and offered to put the word around, over 100 bucketeers are needed.  If you want to help, all you’ll need to do is turn up early for the game, wear a hi-vis vest and hold a bucket, but I can assure you, you’ll enjoy it.  Email the foundation with your name and phone number: cfcfvolunteer@celticfc.co.uk .

  1. NegAnon,

The question of data sharing was raised at the first Celtic Trust open meeting and was put to the club with other questions.

The club came back with a response, but i am sure the deflected or didnt answer the question on data sharing, i might be wrong but i am sure someone will still have the response.

The club have already been caught out on the subject, they quite clearly have been sharing personal details with Police Scotland and have been for at least 2 years.

The only weapon the support has is the withholding of season ticket monies, until the club starts to address the very real issues facing the core supporter base season ticket renewals will fall through the floor, believe me that is reality.

Champions League cash is camouflaging the whole in the sainted balance sheet.

Not long up and just saw your post.

I’m disgusted with the way your son has been treated both by the police and Celtic.

With the fall in attendances they certainly know how to shoot themselves in the foot…driving away good a good Celtic family because of an accusation which I’m in no doubt is unsubstantiated.

Look forward to having a beer with you at Bobby’s do.

I couldn’t agree more, we talk about the Celtic Way, it is fantastic but how can there be so many people being treated like this when the dark forces are not even in the League. PLC – You can ram (is that the correct terminology?) it.

This PLC may seem good with their fine economics, many people applaud them for that, including me, many people met Mighty Tim on a certain day.

Mighty Tim is Celtic, his Family is Celtic. Celtic PLC, Wake the F up. Every Celtic fan is equal in my and most Celtic fans eyes.

Off to bed and really disheartened, the Board are uber strategists, they think ahead of the Support, these happenings just don’t make sense.

I remember a long time ago a few bhoys on here saying the PLC wanted to totally Sanitise the Support and I thought way back, maybe a wee bit strong. There is no doubt now, IMO, now that the Bad Guys are not even in the picture, they guys were definitely right.

  5. Are we going to have different sections at the Hootenannay?

One section each for the Yes and No bhoys and one section each for those renewing and those who are not?

I’ve surely never typed his name in my new phone :)

  8. With the way the Celtic Club is behaving at the moment, I am surprised no one has suggested that we put all our season ticket monies into an account and only release it to Celtic when they behave themselves.

    `night all,

Good morning my friends in Celtic,

To reiterate what others posted on the previous article.

A happy St George’s day to our English based bhoys.

This is a good time to slay the myth that all our problems stem from England, or the English.

The history of St George is very dubious, as is this assumption. The reality is that the majority of English people have the same core values as ourselves and are not Dragons as some would have us believe.

You seem a very jolly old English supporting boy !!!You seem very keen on bigging up sa country that raped and pillaged Scotland for around 600 years.Decimating its people, usurping their rightful royal dynasty, for their own ends, and massacring their people.

And wishing them “A happy St Georges Day”.A lickspittle would probably be too good a word for you.

A nation that decimated the population of Ireland also, for around 800 years.Robbed the indigenous people of their lands, giving them to the Protestant influx from Scotlandleaving the Irish people to subsist on barren pieces of land.A country that stored and exported food when the indigenous people of Ireland starved to death.

A country that robbed, raped and pillaged its way to a shameful empire, subjecting the conquered peoples to a life of subservience, while every ounce of their wealth was sent home to England.

Dont get me started on the Falklands,Iraq,Afghanistan.

A Happy St Georges Day!!!!!!!!!!.You know where you can ram that?.

  13. West Wales Celt on

I see the union of huns is demanding that season book monies are secured against disputed assets and that ‘huge investment’ is made in an insolvent entity.

With these ‘transitional demands’ perhaps Kojo would find better pickings for his ‘reds under the bed’ campaign on follow follow…

  15. The Orcs have obviously learned there lesson and have suffered enough…

“We expect to see full detail of who will be providing the £30-£50M required to take Rangers back to the level we should be operating at, in the absence of this board accepting the offer of investment from Dave King. We also expect to be told exactly when this will be provided, on what terms and a clear plan of how it will be used to rebuild the club both on and off the park.”

From the Union of Orcs new St. Atement..

The whole thing is a hoot…

  16. cliftonville celt from belfast praying for Oscar the wee legend on

Mighty Tim disgusted about how your son has been treated unfortunately the police in Glasgow have been doing much the same to Irish fans for many years – my mate was once arrested and held overnight for being drunk when he’s a pioneer and has never drank in his life !!!!!!!

Anyway got me wondering this – why are the police even in Celtic Park in such numbers ? The police stopped policing inside football grounds in most of the UK many years ago when the clubs were told to pay for the policing – that’s when all these stewards came into play

When the RUC/PSNI stopped policing cliftonville games there began a total change in the support to the extent that the old songs etc have now all but disappeared given people were no longer being antagonised by the police on way into ground etc and I would say there have been very few if any incidents at games since – compared to the full scale riots of the 80’s and 90’s

As I say just wondering why the police need to be in the stadium (by all means they should be around the stadium for traffic & crowd control after the game and also to respond if the stewards lose control or need assistance to a serious issue) and think it’s a comparison the club should look into

  23. Gebbhoy the club has been caught lying to us about passing details to the police and on the so called threat of a safety certificate being withdrawn by GCC.

On the passing of information as I say celtic agreed to share information with the police but I am pretty sure the agreement is effectively illegal. Celtic and the police will of course hide behind other legislation.

That celtic continue to persecute their own support is obvious. The question is why?

I dunno the answer to that. Perhaps they just want unthinking stupid support rather than the intelligent questioning support that we tend to be. They are trying to master us.
