You did this in 2013

1233

Yet again during 2013 we asked you to put your hand in your pocket and you responded as only Celtic fans do.  You raised £6000 before and during the focus of our summer fundraising activity, the annual golf day.  £4500 of this went towards the 1254125 Appeal, which during the year did an enormous amount to anchor the club and support right back to where we came from.  Clic Sargent, who help children with cancer, also benefited at that time.

Thanks also to those who sponsored my 10k at the Great Scottish Run in October to the tune of £1552.  Times remain tight for many, so I the value of your support.

Perhaps the biggest response all year came from the commitment we made to Mary’s Meals to build and kit a kitchen at the Kholoni Primary School in Malawi.  1200 kids are registered at the school but there are no catering facilities, so students go hungry, or simply don’t go to school at all.  Pablophanque’s family sent on the £4500 support they received in 2011 to the appeal, while 470 people booked a seat at the CQteN St Patrick’s Day dinner, with more on the waiting list.  The work we’ll achieve in 2014 will be incredible.

This place can stress and annoy sometimes but it has become a great window into the soul of the Celtic support.

Have a great Christmas and thank you for all your support.

Agree with KevJungle re the bored. However, any self respecting Celtic supporter should stay away from McDiarmid park Thursday. I suspect some fools will show up. Hopefully, none of them set off a smoke bomb.

Oh! are you now the cyber drink police on here…

    On question…

Who gave you the right to judge?

    Yourself?

    Are you that important?

Aulheid. Please correct me if this statement is wrong.

When Sevco were voted into Div 3(as known at the time) and consequently SFL members (as known at the time) they had 14 days to apply for Associate SFA membership under article 14 (as known at the time) and under the discretionary powers of the SFA thus became associate members. However, after league reconstruction by de-facto being SFL members became full SFA members because under reconstruction the SFA changed their rules to abolish associate membership?

  4. Bob Loblaw:

I’ll be honest, I’ve know better days, but the questions that I ask of Aulheid have got nothing to do with them.

I asked Aulheid what is the difference between the SPL 5 way agreement, and the SFL agreement in reply to his question of me a couplke of days ago. Now I have three different copies of th 5 way agreement, non of them signed. but I was simply asking a valid question in response to a question.

Make of that as you will.

Never mind my grievance with Aulheid, my true grievance is that Celtic signed up to that 5 way agreement.

If they did not let them tell us all they did not.

  5. Just on to wish everyone a Happy Christmas, Nollaig Shona, Joyeux Noel. Felice Navidad and Froliche Weinnacht.

Hopefully Peace might break out over the Holidays.

Apologies for any spelling mistakes, do not have an ipad so cannot even blame that :-)

I listened to Keevins last night stating Ally didn’t know how the supporters would use their vote in the AGM. He said something like “I looked into his eyes and having looked at them I believe Ally”. I look forward to the same sympathy the next time Peter Lawwell or Neil Lennon say something that is hard to believe.

On the flags debate I think the Celtic fans are being demonized. In future tell all clubs we refuse to take away tickets. Then Police Scotland will be happy. (the SPFL wont right enough) If I were Celtic I would query every bill sent to them by the Polis. They stood and watched as fans wrecked the toilets at Parkhead, the same with the Ajax game and obviously the Motherwell game. In short the useless gits do hee haw only video and harass young fans.

    ________________________________________________________________________-

Add to that the fact that an Ayrshire Police officer was charged with the destruction of the toilets at Celtic Park.

Fair enough, I’ll leave it to you and Auldheid to conclude your exchange, but in my humble view on thing you can depend on is that trust can be assumed of that man.

  8. Useless fact of the day.

The largest official crowd figure (77410) for a European match at Celtic Park was for that match with Fiorentina.

    I should get out more

The rule was changed as a result of reconstruction.

If I remember correctly the SPL did not have an Associate Member status.

Only the SFL had that so when the SFL disappeared the Associate Membership went with it. The SFA then amended their articles accordingly.

Now any motivation can be applied to that change but given that Rangers already had Full SFA Membership status by dint of Art 15 powers that I covered then the motivation for change in terms of reconstruction to suit Rangers can be dismissed.

That work had already been done by the SFA under Art 15 powers of discretion.

  10. Will not be going to 23:15 mass tonight. Will watch and listen to it on Television in one hour or so’s time.

I am not asking anything of anyone, I just want to take this opportunity to express my thoughts……..

There is no good time to be in prison but Christmas exacerbates that feeling of loneliness and helplessness. Thoughts tonight for those incarcerated.

    Likewise for those in hospital.

And for those separated from their families by work commitments, stay strong.

My prayers offered for those trying to come to terms with bereavement on this night of all nights, and tomorrow daytime’s difficult grasp of the what the future holds.

In short, prayers and goodwill to all across this vast temporary world that serves as home…….

Briefly and perhaps of more relevance considering that I am using this vehicle to convey my own personal belief/message. I will repeat my previously aired sentiment. It has been my absolute pleasure to make the acquaintance of so many kind, genuine and hospitable CQN’rs (is there such a word?) throughout this last nine years. To have met so many wonderful and sparkling individuals has been a pleasure. I hope to reacquaint myself with some or hopefully all of them/you again. To wit, for those I have yet to meet, you have a hard act to follow.

    God Bless.

  13. KITALBA, you’re making a big mistake. Sites like this tend to persuade people that their words and views are of real and permanent significance. The medium also deludes the susceptible into exaggerating their impact on their audience.

What I’m saying is, ‘Come on, Kit, it’s Christmas.’.

Either I made a mistake or you did, either way after tomorrow I’ll go back and look for your post, which I believe I read, in the interim, for the record but if you admit it now it’ll save me a couple of hours on Christmas day, as of today, how many 5 way agreements were invoked, never mind the drafts, how many five way agreements were signed in your belief? Only one? And did CELTIC sign up to the FINAL 5 way agreement………………………….. in your opinion only…. YES OR NO?

Lovely post, Barca. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting you a couple of times and I share your sentiments entirely. All the best to you and your lovely wife and I hope that you recover quickly from the problems caused by the recent hurricane.

  17. All,

I read these pages quite often but, as you’ll know, don’t contribute too often. I would however just like to wish all CQNers a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2014.

To all going to Perth on St Stephen’s Day, watch your back.

And finally, for all junior CQNers, I hope Santa is good to you but in the meantime, you may wish to click on the attached Christmas tree/link (I hope there is a Christmas tree/link attached and if there is, I hope it works for you.)

Since the 5 way agreement was agreed between the Scottish Premier League, Scottish Football Association, Scottish Football League, RFC 2012 PLC (in liquidation) and Rangers Football Club Ltd and since “officially” PL is in the SFA and Celtic in the SPL can’t they ask for the real copy? :)

  19. Hamiltontim is praying for Oscar on

    Quick question.

Is it now permissible to take flags/banners into the game on Thursday?

  20. My, my, what’s going on @ RFC Ltd formerly Sevco Scotland Ltd ? Annual Return re-submitted. Was the original wrong after all? I wonder why!David Low

This will be the beginning of the end for Stockbridge, the Sevco board know he is damaged goods and will throw enough mud to make it stick. His pay-off will be interesting…

  21. What you all need to remember is that celtic officially agreed to the flag ban. It’s been lifted due to our economic power as a support. The question as to why celtic agreed to this has not been answered.
