Zaluska assault

808

I didn’t realise until this morning that the assault on Lukasz Zaluska’s assault by two premiership footballers was so serious as to have the player lying unconscious on the ground for several minutes.  The Celtic player was out in Glasgow with his wife Sunday night before the incident.

Lukasz was singled-out for online abuse by two Dundee United players in August, one from Poland, one Scottish-born player who has represented Northern Ireland, after the Legia Warsaw Champions League qualifier.  The Polish player subsequently took to Twitter to campaign for Legia’s punishment for fielding a suspended player against Celtic to be reduced.

The stories I could tell about various footballers would fill more than a few volumes, but all of the tales I’ve heard about Lukasz are that he is a polite, generous, player who repeatedly puts himself out to help Celtic fans and Poles living here.  Very best wishes to the big guy, I hope we see him back soon.

If you fancy watching Sunday’s game against Kilmarnock in comfort……..  We have secured another pair of Premium Seat tickets for the Jock Stein Stand from Celtic sponsor Magners.  To win the tickets answer the following question:

Which country do Thursday’s opponents FC Astra come from?

Optionally, if you have £1 available, please donate it to Mary’s Meals at this MyDonate page, which will send your £1 straight to Mary’s Meals, then send me your contact details (with or without donation confirmation) to celticquicknews@gmail.com

Competition closes tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10pm, so get your entries in now and watch your inbox Thursday morning.  You can donate more than £1 if you like, of course.  Terms and conditions are available here.

Tried Scotcourts, but they only seem to list the rolls, not outcomes and sentences. Might pop in to Sheriff Court tomorrow to see if they’ll have a list, or I’ll ask at reception if they can provide me with that info. I’m determined to find out what she got.

Anyone out there know how I can find the outcome and (assuming guilt), sentence for someone appearing at a Sheriff Court. The PF replied to my e-mail by posting a link to scotcourts, but I can’t seem to find outcomes/sentences.

From today’s record re Mikael Lustig baby

THE baby daughter of Celtic star Mikael Lustig has been struck down by a mystery illness.

Four week old Lexie was rushed to a specialist unit at Glasgow’s Yorkhill Hospital after falling ill at the weekend.

Swedish defender Lustig, 27, and partner Josefin have been keeping a constant vigil at her bedside as doctors treat their sick tot.

Model Josefin, 24, wrote on her blog: “My heart hurts — just want to cry.

“Lexie woke up with fever and we had to see a doctor.

“He sent us straight to the children’s hospital. They’ve done lots of tests and she had some antibiotic.”

Lexie looked to have recovered a little on Sunday when her mum posting a picture of her grinning along with the caption “Love her little smile.”

Josefin added: “Lexie has started to give me smiles now and then. Makes me forget about the hard things for a while.”

“I wish we had family around when stuff like this happens.

“Who is gonna take care of her when I have to be here and Mikael have to train and play football?“I need to be home at Wednesday because he has to be at the hotel before Thursdays game.

“I have to take care of two kids and a dog! I’m happy we have friends to help out when we really need it. But it’s not easy. I’m so stressed and I wish I could split up in two or three!”

Fellow Celtic wags have been quick to show their support for Josefin.

Lisa Hague, partner of Celtic ace Kris Commons, said: “It’s worrying times especially as Lexie is only four weeks old.

“Our son William was in hospital within a month of him being born, so I can sympathise with what they’ll be going through.

“All the Celtic girls wish Lexie a quick recovery.”

Hollie Thomas, 21, girlfriend of Welsh defender Adam Matthews, added: “I saw Lexie at a game just the other week and she is gorgeous and so tiny.

“That’s what is scary about her being ill — she is so little.”!
