Stand up for the Champions

I know when you begin to dominate a championship that when another team eventually lift the trophy it can seem like an intolerable failure; compare our distress in 2009 to our resolve to do better after the final home game in 1996.  Time adds perspective to our triumphs.  As does not being there and seeing photos of the presentation hours after the event.

These are special times, enjoy them.

Many thanks to the Columba Club in Blantyre for Friday night’s Question and Answer event, and to the irrepressible Phil Agnew, who organised the event.  I was delighted to share a stage with Paul McConville and Phil Mac Giolla Bhain.  Great to see so many CQN’ers there too, my only regret is that I didn’t get a chance to catch up with everyone. With supporters like those in Blantyre on Friday night, we’re in good hands.

Remember to buy Heart of a Lion, Willie Wallace’s magnificent autobiography, available below.

A Stor Mo Chroi .04:37 on 12 May, 2013 Have you ever seen the like before….

    …………………………………………………….

No, I’ve never seen anything like that in my lifetime, simply outstanding by NFL and that is one lucky wee lass.

That would bring a tear to a glass eye. And one of our own posted a couple of days back that Neil Lennon lacks class?

It oozes from the man at every outing.

    Hail Hail

Neil Francis Lennon, a Prince among men..

Wright deliberately elbowed Lustig in the face ….this was after there had been a bit if handbags at the immediately preceding corner

    Deliberate assault IMO

Walker described it as a ‘slap” …..then went on to dismiss it as part of the game ….it was a disgraceful action by a hurting Hun IMO ….Walker is an embarrassment …then again we knew that

  5. Lustig got booked for being on the wrong end of an elbow assault from Frazer Wrong. The more it changes, the more it remains the same!

Thanks pfayr, I forgot to record the game in my rush of excitement to get to CP yesterday. hopefully it will be covered in the BBC highlights……………………..all 3 minutes of them………………..

    HH x 2:-)

  7. scotlands shame on

Lustig rightfully doin his nut as wright intentionally elbowed him. If it happened on a high st wud have got the jail. He looked where he was ran into him an swung elbow deliberately into jaw. No doubt sfa Will ignore it. Andy walker was a disgrace an Lustig as an international should be used to this kind of thing. Incredible

Corner from our right . Wright elbows Lustig in coupon. Play on by the honest mistake merchant. Walker blames Lustig for being on receiving end. As a more learned man than I would put it ‘Good Grief’

  10. Walker is an ungrateful wee piece of vermin. Can’t say better than that.

    Scum.

Will Heart of a Lion,be on sale at the golf day in Aberdour. I will get Willie Wallace to sign it for me, I met him in 67,but I would doubt if he will remember me.

  12. Slow start to the day after celebrating on Silverware Saturday.

What a day – a pre-match pint in The Drovers, then to CP, post-match drinks in Libertines, joined Mrs.TT (+ brother and sister-in-law) for dinner at Sartes, another quick pint in The Maltman before going to see Bill Bailey at the Pavilion.

    No wonder my head hurts!

Distinct lack of green in The Maltman – I got a few funny looks for having a Celtic scarf in my pocket. Is it a Sevco pub?
