Doing your talking on the park

603

Scott Brown’s comment that the players will “look to do any talking on the park” is what you want to hear from the captain this week. Scott’s only just returned from a lengthy absence and is yet to get into full flow, but on form, he is the difference between an anaemic and an effective Celtic.

It’s always hard to judge from the stands what a team is missing when it’s off form but it’s clear we need leaders on the park to grab hold of games and dominate opponents. Scott is our most effective player in this role; a lot of responsibility lies on his shoulders in the coming weeks.

Saturday can’t come soon enough. It’s a far more important game than the semi-final I continually see articles on.

I’ve been in touch with three of the Res 12 guys and hope to pick up on this shortly.

Apologies for my language and tone earlier.

My issues are with the SFA, the League but also ourPLC. I have no part in res 12 as I a not a share holder. I am actually glad I put my decision to pull my support on here prior to the publication of there’s 12 goings on which I did lastSaturday. I have bee to Celtic Parkonce since the turn of the year. As time has closed in on the returned coming back and my personal judgement prior to the res 12 guys publicising their info that highlights and strengthens my belief that our PLC are party to easing their return I have been unable to stomach attending and lining their pockets further. I will always be a Celtic supporter. But that will not be a supporter and fan of the current adaptation of my club. It will be memories and historical. I have no further interest or passion for what the club has become. That may change again in time but that will not be before each and every current incumbent of the PLC is gone and a new board takes control who have at least some regard for the fans. My feelings for this lot started to wane when the PLC attempted through supporters associations to disenfranchise a section of our support (The Green Brigade) secretly in back room meetings. They are despicable, cretinous and wholly untrustworthy! Yes they may. Be good with financial and all due credit were it is deserved but the are do not embody one iota of what it means to be Celtic! They never will.

  6. Contact the club, let them know you’re concern about this issue.

The Board’s going to find out about this revolt soon enough and is going to have to make some kind of statement.

My guess is that they have badly underestimated fans’ reactions to this, perhaps some of them might even feel let down by the Intel they’ve been fed (by PL).

Whatever the case, by their inaction and subsequent contempt for highly respected Celtic men (and, by extension all of us), they’ve stirred a hornets’ nest …

It’s early Friday morning here in the Top End Of Oz. This morning I feel like I used to whenever we had lost a game to the oldco, absolutely gutted.

I read most of the past couple of days input and this morning at breakfast, I asked the other Celtic ‘fan’ here if he knew what resolution 12 was, no freakin idea. I tried to explain it as best I could as he sat there in astonishment with baked bean sauce running down his chin. As others have mentioned, this is stark reality, most Celtic ‘fans’ don’t even know what Res 12 is.

I find it quite stunning that Paul 67 has to date, not commented on this subject, probably the biggest single issue since 1994, while we are fed daily articles that would be quite at home in the old Celtic View. Sad days indeed.

can I just say…no being big heeded ken but i was one of the first to see the writing on the Willo.

  9. I have started several post in the last 24 hours and abandoned them, forlorn sums me up right now.

I just don’t know what on earth the current custodians of the club thing they will gain from doing nothing.

If 4 games per annum is what interests them I will leave them to it.

A season ticket next year was going to be a push for me, new job is taking a lot of time up, but the Board are making it an easy decision.

I felt sickened last night, I don’t feel any better tonight.

Step up Celtic men on the Board, stand for what’s right.

Or those who prophesied Celtic would be the ultimate losers from Rangers liquidation may well be vindicated.

  10. Paul, I know that I have raised similar to this one before.

In view of much of tonight’s comment, could you not persuade PL to come on here and explain exactly the Board’s duties to the shareholders, all the shareholders, not just those whose millions of shares dictate decisions?

  11. CultsBhoy can not relate to Celtic Board ambitions on or off the park on

    MWD

I don’t think the Board ( PL) has been spectacularly good with the ££££ management .

Just because we didn’t go bust doesn’t mean we’ve maximised our income generation potential. Far from it. We’ve sold players to balance the books that has subsequently led to early European exit that has required further sales resulting in the poor team we now have.

Lawwell can balance the books but only in a decreasing cycle. He has imo zero vision, and certainly no concept of managed risk.

  12. Getting a bit knacked so taking a break. I will repost my earlier post suggesting the leaflet printing later, but if it is to take off we need some input from the other Resolution 12 Bhoys, thanks Canamalar, before we could proceed.

    ‘Til laters fholks.

Ps, Celtic fans have always been known for their passion, please don’t let that change to being best known for their apathy!

  19. Threats and intimidation from HT tonight at football, shocking stuff. Thankfully was able to rise above the hatchet job and come out on the winning side.

  22. Like everyone I await answers – but I am not on the “it’s Lawwell fault” bandwagon – I will wait until all the facts are known before I make up my mind.

Amazing how Celtic can be labelled villans for the Ibrox deceit – what a strange world.

In the half-time “No To Racism” advert on TV, a load of footballers repeat the slogan in their native tongue. How come Gareth Bale doesn’t do it in Welsh?

    ———————————-

Gareth Bale comes from Cardiff, the natives don’t speak Welsh there.

    HH.

  24. Mr Pastry, I would agree with that in part.

It is the responsibility of the full Board, Peter Lawell is only one member of that Board.

He shares the blame with every other member, Executive and Non-Executive.

They may change their stance, I hope they do, and by voicing our opinions on here, and directly with the Club they will know how we feel, individually and collectively.
