Grown-up footballers, Mourinho accused of cheating, Linfield lucre

371

When did footballers get all grown-up? Jonny Hayes offer to pay for new Aberdeen strips which had his name emblazoned on them, before his transfer to Celtic, is just such a thoroughly decent thing to do. He added a condition that the strips he bought back were donated to a worthy cause.

Small gestures go a long way in the game. I suspect this guy will surprise a few on the upside.

Linfield want to face Celtic at an early kick-off on 11 July for financial reasons, instead of taking the second leg to Belfast a week later, when, you have to assume, they expect the competitive element to have gone from the tie. 11 July is no less combustible in Belfast than the 12th (it is technically more combustible).

Kick-off at 9am, let the football fans watch their team in without the distraction of Belfast’s nocturnal July activates, or switch the first leg to Glasgow. And then hold the second leg at 9am in Belfast.

Jose Mourinho was thing morning accused of being a cheat! The Spanish tax authorities are 14 years and one month behind Celtic fans. Pay your tax or Karma will get you every time.

I’m fairly sure Kenny Shiels was the only person in Scottish football to support and stand up for Neil Lennon.

Could be wrong again, though. And certainly much of his other behaviour played to a gallery.

I think DAVIDOPOULOS is fluent in French. If you get deleted, blame him.

My execrable French translated it as where has the time gone?

I think there are a few WoS translations which mean similar. Some of which knock John Lennon’s famed “five year lost weekend” into a pokey hat.

The octogenarian Inter fanatic from down the valley is utterly convinced that Inter’s improbable Treble in 2010 was the result of a pact between Mourinho and the Devil . That done , Inter have and will continue to pay the price of that deal..

He and I went to the Catania v Inter Serie A game in the spring of 2010 . Catania humped Inter 3-1 .

  5. Have the rules for registering players changed? The team from Govan seem to have no problem signing players from the likes of Colombia and Mexico. I was under the impression that those sort of players had to have played so many internationals to qualify. Might well be wrong.

  6. The last thing Celtic needed was a game against these 17th century vile homophobic knuckle draggers, a hope the team from San Marino pump them so that they can get on with they’r bone fire night, burning effigies off wee Jay and the pope, that’s what they do best, they are the people when it comes to that sort of sh.. second to no one, shower of DOBS.

So did TRFC register players without work permits/contracts as per @UEFAcom Art 42 Player Eligibility? @ScottishFA @BBCSportScot @STVGrant?

It was reported that 2 Mexicans without relevant paperwork had been included on UEFA player lists for their Q1 ties

  9. So now we have,”The new Luis Suarez”to play alongside “The new Harry Kane”playing in front of a host of international star defenders and midfielders. All for the princely sum of around 4 million.Allegedly.

WAKEN UP EUROPEAN TEAMS.ALL OF THESE SNATCHED FROM UNDER YOUR NOSES.

  10. I’m seeing a few Tims like myself not wanting to give up the second game at home to thems in NI, why should we? If they can’t control they’r fans that’s they’r problem, why should we give up our advantage to qualify for the next round, far far to much at stake here, the draw has been done (if they qualify) it is what it is, and of course they have that excellent UEFA representative who reported on the behaviour of Celtic fans at an away game and we got a fine (can’t remember him or the game) so he should be up to speed and telling his fans how to behave, him being a UEFA rep. Right?

I agree , and it is not the role of our manager to be a peacekeeper for a hate mob, we are a professional football club not the UN.

  12. Having the second leg at home is an advantage especially if it goes to extra time.If Linfield beat the team from San Marino then it`s their problem to assure the safety of away fans.If they are unable to do this surely the game should be moved to a safer venue or country.

Am I the only one who’s bricking it at the thought of having to play the Multiverse’s 2nd most successful team, who also happen to be supported by superior beings? They’re so important that the UKs largest benefits recipient,The Queen, had them name their stadium after her. They must be good. ;)

Don’t know if I’m reading some comments right about the “authorities” being responsible for keeping travelling Celtic supporters safe in Belfast ?

The only thing Celtic fans need to do to stay safe in Belfast is stick to Nationalist areas and follow the advice of the locals.

They are very experienced in this. No chance of being given a bum steer.

    Aye,it’s a game I’d rather didn’t take place-particularly at this time-but safe enough given the above,I reckon.

Fingers crossed anyway, but I sure trust those Belfast Bhoys.

  16. I guess there is a team in NI who are quite confident in progressing, would just love it if they got beat.

I suppose it’s not ideal to play them on their patch at the time of year scheduled but what can you do. I suppose it would be a vile atmosphere at any time of year.
