  1. Gutted, angry, disappointed and really sad at that performance tonight as a support we deserve more than that.

The only thing that will satisfy me this year now is a domestic treble at a MINIMUM and no less than a Europa league quarter final. If the board don’t help deliver that they should remove themselves because we are being short changed at every turn!

Sick isn’t a strong enough word for how I feel right now!!!!

  2. We shoodahudda goal…………..at 1-1 we’re through……..

    Would we have held on?

    Don’t know – just sayin’………………..

  3. Corporate Plc Celtic…..GTF…

Placeman Rony Delia and the guy who very allegedly got offered a job by Arsenal ( Lawwell’s self publicity would put Jabba Traynor and Level 5 to shame!!)…..don’t let the door hit yer arses on the way out!!

    Get Henke in now…..

Get the soul back into Celtic pleeeeeeaaassseeeee

The alternative is beyond depressing…..Racing to the bottom to be marginally better than The Wizard Warburton ‘s Deady Bears……

    I despair….

    GTF Lawwell…….You are a disgrace!!

  4. the long wait is over on

For the first time I have real doubts about RD.

While he can’t be responsible for shocking refereeing decisions we’ve gone out of the CL having lost 3 consecutive and decisive goals to terrible defending at set pieces.

There was no plan B of any meaningful kind in the second half and the decision to take off

SA for KC at half time was baffling. SA and JF were the only players showing any penetration.

You simp,y cannot win a CL qualifier when you lose 4 goals.

  5. Big question about what this means for our financial health. Suspect Virgil off, and either cheap or no players brought in.

We’ll hope for a run in the Europa, and the Huns (mk2) will be “back” next season, so ticket sales will go up.

Without the CL, we are downsizing at a rate of knots.

  6. To ascribe this defeat to ‘downsizing’ when we lost to a team (a newly formed team at that) assembled for a fraction of Celtic’s budget is to ignore the obvious.

Legia, Maribor, Malmo – all financially poorer than Celtic,

I’ll repeat what I said last year – expect mediocre European football, followed by an upsurge in Deila’s popularity as Celtic lay waste to the Scottish minnows.

    He is unassailable, alas!

  7. @GREENOAKTREE… yes so he knows what he is talkin about no?

his advice ,comments might not suit you but he is a refreshing

    voice,

  8. Terrible performance. No fight. To be honest we would get pumped in CL. Lucky to get into EL so may as well make most of it.

  9. the glorious balance sheet on

Look out for Peter Lawwell’s two page spread in the daily record on Friday with all the usual sound bites ” we are well run” , “no one hurts more than me” , “we are the envy of most clubs in Europe” etc.

We are treated to this propaganda every year we get handed our dinner on a plate in europe from teams who play in poorer leagues and have less money than us.

  10. Think we elevate players to hero status too early. Think of the praise heaped on johansen last season. A bit of European heat and he’s melting like a bar of chocolate. 2 players booked when the ball is out of play? Vvd was perhaps unlucky but Leigh could have walked. Discipline must improve. Ronnie needs to ensure lessons are learnt this time.

Ah well, that’s freed up some Saturdays!

  11. 67 EUROPEAN CUP WINNERS on 25TH AUGUST 2015 10:01 PM

    3 Things

1 – Malmo tactics spot on – put our back 4 under pressure when we had the ball – stopped us playing our normal game

PISH – our lack of movement and slow ass square passing game made it easy to stop us building an attack. Slow of thought and slow of movement. Malmo didnt pressure us to much at the back. we pressured ourselves by being slow and thoughtless in possession. coupled with a lcak of movement means we are building on nothing.

2 – Scott Brown had no influence in the game either he was marked out of it (not sure he was) or he was carrying an injury

PISH – SB was isolated. Bitton was erm, pish. Slow of thought and slow of feet. Both offensively and offensively. Johansen should literally be hooked. A waste of a jersey in the all important position of linking and cvering the defensive midfield pair. This triangle is the heartbeat of our team and 2 of the 3 played PISH nullifying the other.

3 – As much as I loved Lennon I was critical of him not changing a system when it wasn’t working – Ronny you have the same disease.

NOT PISH – Deila’s tactical ineptitude cost us dear, over both legs. Infact has cost us dear in a great many of the games we have played in europe with him at the helm.

Finally well done to Malmo they deserved it

PISH – we let them have it and gave them the game. They never earned the result and that, for me, is the most dissapointing thing about the game(s).

  12. West Wales Celt on

Poor performance. Well beaten by a more incisive team but it hurts to lose 3 goals to corners over the two legs.

Think Sutty spoke the truth. We lack quality at this level. Its in real danger of becoming a self-fulfilling prophesy. The Virgil cash will be used to balance the books.

Champions League Club in terms of history and support, Europe League Club in terms of squad quality.

As Sutty says, Ronny needs help…

  13. Sounds like we should close the lower tier too – move the games to Paisley? Time for Ronny to go. Bring back the Irn Bru.

  14. Can’t blame the manager – too many players went into hiding tonite or just performed very very poorly

  15. .

To Play 3 Complete Strangers in Defense who have Played about 30 Games collectively in 2 Years with a Player who could be Sold Tomorrow was a Massive Blunder..

But to ask them to Zonally Mark at Corners was…….????

    I Don’t have Words..

    Summa

  16. Don’t remember too many complaining about Charlie replacing Izzy pre game. But obviously we now all know it was a mistake. I’m not saying we didn’t underperform, quite obviously we did but games swing on tight margins. It should have been one all at half time, if it was there would have been a different dynamic. We deserved to beat them by more then one in first game but conceded at last kick of game.

Brown & Biton were poor tonight but normally they are very good players for us and are well lauded on the blog. Some people even criticising Ronny for letting Berget go, for past 6 months people were criticising him for ever bringing him in.

To be honest I’m sick of CQN.

  17. I would Think Ronnys jaiket is on a Shoogly europa league peg…and i doubt a Treble or a 17 point league win without Vvd as seems likely and Jason Deyner….Big season for RD…Having my doubts as in early last season….Worried.con…

  18. Read my posts over the last week – I got it right because I know about football and football teams.

I could see the weaknesses in this squad, I could see the fear in Ronny, hear it in his voice – and yet the usual ‘thick’ suspects on here, could only call me a hun.

When you buy Dundee Utd players, you invariably become Dundee Utd.

We are not downsizing, the quicksand of the Scottish game is sucking us under, we are merely adjusting to our new level, however unpalatable that may be – shouting Hail Hail and refusing to face reality is neither clever, nor, helpful.

The Rangers thing will back next season – domestic bliss is where we belong and is what we can afford.

Let’s stop dreaming of the past – the big football world has left us far behind.

  19. STEVIEQ64 on 25TH AUGUST 2015 10:08 PM

Still believe in Ronny but he needs help from above at Celtic Park

    Divine intervention???

  20. I’m sorry guys but isn’t it like watching the same video year after year?

    No ambition equals no success.

The board think they are super duper but they are simply overseeing failure. Their failure.

Until they leave this won’t ever change.

  21. After every defeat we almost exclusively focus on Celtic’s failings of which there were many tonight but Malmö manager adjusted his tactics after playing us last week and he got them spot on..we had no answer and to throw on subs without a clear shape and plan after the subs go on is where we at Celtic really need to do much much better…

They stopped us from doing what we normally do all over the park and to be honest any half decent team has done that to us in the last few years. We left spaces all over the park tonight it was unbelievable the gaps in our shape. Seems to me we don’t have the players to play that shape or players did not play to instruction.

We missed Izzy tonight, not because he has no weaknesses but because he is a relentless outball, he never hides and he works that whole left side up and down and he puts defences under pressure rampaging forward. His work rate gives our defence a break and brings the midfield into it.

Sick as a dog tonight watching that..

  22. tRoll Rubbish fae Record-Readin’ Rockets who “support” Aston VillaR……….

    ;)

  23. We didn’t turn up tonight and that is worrying.

As someone mentioned above, our policy of only buying young, can’t be our sole trick.

600k would buy you a 32 yr old Rosenberg…. What do we do, spend nearly 3 times that amount on a player not even half as effective. (Cifti).

I for one hold my hands up, and was pleased with team selection at 7.30pm.

The over-riding issue however, is that aside from two or three bursts from Forrest… There wasn’t one player tonight who done themselves justice. Not one

We need a whole rebuilding job at the back.

I would keep Bitton (even though he looked like he wanted sent off). But as for Brown and Johansen. Just not good enough tonight. I cut brown some slack, because in many games, he has drove the team on. But not tonight.

And Johansen simply thinks he’s a player now. When unfortunately for him, he couldn’t pass water.

  24. ....PFayr supports WeeOscar on

Night bhoys …we’re down but not out …maybe a wee trip to somewhere nice this autumn

Dreadful end to a poor day for me

    HH

    Speedy recovery TCR

  25. Did someone here, posting before the Malmo games, say it had been 33 games since we lost goals from corner kicks?

What the hell happened in the last 7 days????

  26. Gutted, obv. But the worst thing is, I dont even feel confident we would have won if the ref had done his job. A pen and a red would have been better than a goal… They were not as good as us, but they played better, and thats an issue. Dont have the answer, but its a problem which needs sorted.

  27. TET

What would be your reason why we wouldn’t sign Lubo now?

(Apart from the fact he’s about 50!) :-)
