  1. Am a supporter of Ronny but this was not his finest hour.

Mulgrew in that position is a disaster waiting to happen.

Also the lack of fight was inexcusable? Did Malmo’s noising us up work? Too many hiding tonight.

  2. There are plenty on to put the boot in, so I will not add to it. A very disappointing night, we got what we deserved and we now take our place in the Europa League.

We will just have to wait and see if Virgil or anyone else goes in next few days and who if any comes in. After that we will just have to pick ourselves up and get on with our season. We are still in four competitions and we can’t afford to feel sorry for ourselves. Ronny will stay till the end of season so Ronny out posts are just a pain in the ass.

  3. Ronny got it terribly wrong.

Are passing has not been good enough. Our defending of set plays has not been good enough.

We pass it back and forth across the back to no avail.

Teams know we can only try and play thru them, we have no physical presence up top.

    Really disappointed.

  4. Anyone who thinks that Virgins half arsed show tonight will deflate his price is deluded. ., the deal was done .

Law ell is a lot of things , but stupid he ain’t.

  5. Guys we have known for a very long time now that this squad of players are weak, it’s no bloody good having talent if you are afraid of using it.

Win the fecking ball what is so difficult about that, the Malmö players are no great shakes but their fighting spirit and their coaches homework did the rest.

Until Ronny learns to adapt new tactics then i am afraid to say the EL will be our level.

KTF Ronny ffs buy a CM

  6. I’m a founder member of the happy clappers’ club.

But that was poor. Gutless and witless I’m afraid. The better team won.

I feel badly let down by the team tonight. I was chasing down every ball as I paced and paved the floor. More so than them I fear.

I can’t help be haunted by my 95th minute comment from last week – ‘fekin Berget….’

  7. Drambowiecelt

    U full of pish

    Away and support

    Partick thistle

We were fooled by an Aberdeen

    Get a grip mate

    Aspire

Spirit of Malmo that ure level

    Spirit of Lenny my level

    Ronny is worse than Mowbray

  8. Another Lawwell gamble that didn’t pay off .. £15m thrown away .. Never mind we can sell VVD tomorrow

  9. glendalystonsils on

2 poor teams. The poor team that wanted it most , won…………….. Comfortably.

Big failure for the team and the biggest failure yet for Ronny.

When we were asked to stand up for Celtic, we didn’t.

Sometimes happy clapping is counter productive so I will happily scroll past any posts which excuse tonight’s performance.

PS grab that 10 million from Southampton for VVD quick, before they change their minds .

Oh, and see if any of the English champikonship clubs fancy our worst performer of the night……Johansen.

  10. An away performance so typical of Celtic in Europe….

Whether the manager was McNeill, O’Neil, Strachan, Lennon and now Deila.

All of them have overseen really horrible performances away. Some good ones of course but tonight was all so predictable.

Not sure what the solution is….I remember Anderlecht away when they were down to 10!

Our midfield was totally inept Nir, Broonie, Jo….what was it that froze them?

Other than Jamesie its difficult to think of any player who moved freely and with confidence.

Even CG who made two wonderful saves looked nervous and unsure (maybe of the players in front of him?)

Charlie? What can I say. I would never have him in my team and in the first half he contributed less than nothing. He improved in the second but….

Not his fault we lost, but there was no way he could have effectively linked up with the wide player in front.

He’s had his day…proved me wrong on his return to Celtic but enough now.

    On TV….Broonie brutally honest!

  11. Dexter says PAY THE LIVING WAGE CELTIC PLC on

    I agree with Chris Sutton.

EL investment (not even) and you’ll get these results in CL qualification.

Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawell GTF

  12. Have had issues with Sutton’s comments before but tonight he is 100% spot in.

Arguably showing more passion than anyone in the Celtic playing or management team. Sickening show and honestly I just can’t think of even going to an EL tie tonight.

    Massive disappointment. Signing off now.

  13. Sheik…Whoa calm doon ..your comments all night are not what we want from a tim

    so I repeat ..go away.

    H.H.

  14. Gorbalstam

    Your view maybe.

I think they can be a liability sometimes as they transfer anxiety onto the park. Last week was a Cass in point at 2 nil.

Malmo lot really were a 12th man tonight. Intimidated the red and out players I reckon.

Doesn’t mean I don’t think the team were unfortunate to be cheated out of an equaliser and to have such an imbalance in terms of ref decisions on bookings.

Doesn’t mean I don’t reckon a few players didn’t rise to the challenge tonight. For sure.

The core issue is we are a big club with a big stadium playing in a poor environment each week.

Addressing that is the big challenge facing our club.

I still also think malmo fans made a difference.

  15. All I can say is we were posh.

    Sorry but we were.

If I can also say , all you posters who keep posting we are going to win2 or3 the or4.that.

Please keep your fingers off the keyboards.

    We were PISH.

Please forgive me. We had a good goal, penalty, man sent off etc.

    I know.

But the long and short of it is .

    WE WHERE PISH.

I also think some posters need to offer Pastry bhoy an apology .

As I the he was correct .

He was not being bitter, but speaking from the heart.

  16. Well done to Nir and Scott, you could feel the hurt.

They know they underperformed, Brown was ashamed and Nir would make no excuses.

Hardly a consolation, but they made me a little proud of them.

    Wounds to lick, so………… Laters.

  17. I heard he was dead on

2 ways to look at this –

    1. Disaster

    2. Building for next year

Neil Lennon’s first tw years in Europe were guff but Deila shows no signs of improvement.

    I fear the worst

  18. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Boys if you think Celtic will spend a good chunk of the money we get for VVD you are deluded we are trawling the market looking for out of contract and players returning from injury.I would also ask why you would consider giving Ronny decent money to buy players as he hasnt bought wisely up to now.We are now a small club in Europe with a big fan base.I believe Ronny should get another 12 months and a third chance of getting us into the CL but I would not let him lash the cash the player he let go Berget had two first class games against but Ronny let him walk.H.H.

  19. playfusbal4dguilders on

Midfield and forwards where miles apart from each other all night. Never worked as a unit.

  20. Another disappointing but not surprising amateur night in Europe.

Unless there is resolve at top level at CP to reverse years of downsizing, we will be in exactly the same situation this time next year.

As I posted last week, PL has stated that Celtic could get by with dipping out on CL money fro one season.

Has he a plan B now that one season is two.

Over the next few days, people connected with Celtic, Paul possibly among them will be blowing the ‘RALLY ROUND THE FLAG AND BACK THE TEAM AND CLUB’ bugle

That being the case, it is high time that the team and at a higher level the club backed the fans..

  21. Couldn’t handle Malmo’s pressing game. Malmo played really well, they did the unseen stuff in Football (running off the ball, etc) really good, wherever their motivation came from, it worked for them.

Bitton, Johansen and Brown can’t handle players coming at them at pace. Hamilton did it last season, we haven’t learned anything.

Too often, the 2nd touch was a tackle.

    Crap, crap night!

  22. Captain Beefheart on

How dare anyone have the temerity to question another abject defeat.

All is well. 10 in a row, Rangers etc.

    Good grief.

    Crap strikers. Who cares?

  23. thetimreaper

I take it your disappointment has clouded your judgement. Rony has no defence…in more ways that one.

Two CL failures at Maribor and now Malmo.

    Both these results are shocking.

Both manager AND players should hang their heads in shame.

£10 – £15m missed out on. We’ll suffer because of that.

    Not good enough for Celtic.

  24. Well beaten.

    Nae striker.

Mulgrew no pace & never a LB, defence always looked like losing a goal at corner kicks. Boyata looked slow of thought, VVD was poor and clearly not as good as he thinks he is.

Johannsen a waste of a jersey tonight – in fact he has been poor since beginning of the season. Our midfield was played off the park by Malmo tonight. Bitton & Brown outplayed, second to the ball all night.

We are miles away from being a CL team, hope PL’s remuneration follows the same downward trajectory as our status in Europe.

Referee was culpable, not just at the denied goal but ignored repeated leading forearm challenges.

Despite my disgust with the performance tonight I’ll be there to support the team in the EL.

  25. BURGAS HOOPS on 25TH AUGUST 2015 9:26 PM

Whats next for us now Mr Lawwell, you’ve murdered us with your downsizing !!!!

    ——————————————————————————————————————–

Not forgetting he’s Dermot Desmond’s puppet. Our club is a shambles from the boardroom to the dug-out. We’ve now been papped out of the CL three times in two seasons by teams with a fraction of our budget and spending power. Over the next couple of days, we will yet again be Southampton’s feeder club just to add the humiliation. I was weaned on the Lisbon Lions and honestly am sickened to the pit of my stomach when I see what we’ve descended to.

Oh but wait, we’re no as bad as the huns. If that’s our only saving grace then I need to find something else to occupy me on match days. This shower (board, players, managers) just are not worth the pain and heartache any longer. For me the joy of Celtic which I passed onto to both my English born sons has all but ended tonight. In truth, it’s been on the wane for a while but the gutless performance tonight just put the tin hat on it. It was largely good while it lasted but even the prospect of ten in a row (which the SFA won’t allow to happen in any event). Oft oot as they say in these parts.

  26. son of the helm on

Europa league here we come. Disappointed about CL. Lessons might be learned. Leigh makes his chances in Scotland. The step up is difficult.

We see that the balance in midfield is not working. Nirlo looked like he knew his position and task. The others not. I thought commons would make a difference. In fact Armstrong was better.

Need to review my travel for the autumn.

Correct. A guy who could’ve got you the sack last year comes in ahead of Izzy who offers much more going forward.

Ultimately we couldn’t create any real chances so losing last minute goal last week didn’t matter.

Malmo aren’t a great team. Pointing this out doesn’t make you a Hun.
