Sviatchenko out but turmoil also at Astana

589

I remember a situation several years ago when we had five full backs and converted-full backs out injured at the same time. The injured count for central defenders is not currently as high but the situation is just as critical.

Erik Sviatchenko joins Jozo Simunovic, Dedryck Boyata and Kristoffer Ajer on the injured list. Kolo Toure is certain to be added to the Uefa squad before tonight’s deadline but will be pushed to be match fit for next week.

Fortunately, the man who has spent more time injured over the last two seasons than anyone else, Mikael Lustig, is fit and able to move from full back into the middle, with Saidy Janko able to deputise on the right.

More words have been written about Efe Ambrose than any other Celtic player this month. It’s quite possible he’ll move on towards the end of the transfer window but he’s set to be given an opportunity to make good his error in Gibraltar by leading an unfamiliar defensive line-up in Astana tomorrow.

If I had a choice, I would prefer Celtic in adversity than Celtic over-confident. We know we will have to protect the defence tomorrow so the match plan should be straightforward.

Astana are not without their concerns either. Kazak media are concerned Astana are weaker than a year ago, due to the departure of Georgi Zhukov the likely absence of captain and top scorer, Tanant Nuserbayev, added to the turmoil at the club this week, caused by Lyon’s bid for midfielder, Nemanja Maksimovic. They will battle tomorrow, but their preparations are far from ideal.

  2. Good morning friends and welcome to Matchday from a clear skied, gorgeous liiking, calm and dry East Kilbride. Hope my flight down to Laaaaandon leaves on time but wouldn’t mind an hours delay on the way back (if I’ve managed to source the game on my phone that is). Score a goal and don’t lose by more than 1.

You cannot say cheating apart when it cannot be put apart.

We lost three titles because we were not prepared to increase Celtic’s debt five fold.

RFC were and look where it got them.

    ++++++++

Hail Hail fella, hope yer well and that the Res12tance-Rebels bring justice to our game

and that the fab 4 get statues built ‘inside’ the stadium for the magical miracle that yeez

are about to pull off. Well that’s true, right ?

Anyway……thank you all for the courage etc that you have shown. YNWA.

Now, yer point up above about us not winning the league for 3 years because we didny

go down the hun-route and spend money that we didny have ?

    It’s all about opinions.

    Here’s mine.

The reason that we didny win the league in those 3 seasons…

…we’re a rudderless ship run by, deceitful charlatans who employ, puppet-managers who

are not, cute, bold or wide enough to stamp the Celtic crest onto the huns fore heads.

    WGS – BTM – Neil Lennon ???

Ye couldny make a Cellic manager oot the 3 of them.

3 puppet-clueless-cuteless-boldless-managers who ensured that Timdom would be the huns

punchbags for 3 years at least.

    Foisted by project players.

Star players sold – replaced by projects…profits swallied ?

Kenny Miller started to hit the net then, hey presto….PL sold him!!!

KM was interviewed on SSB and was asked why he was leaving Celtic ?

KM said – “I don’t want to leave this club and, especially at the minute as I’m scoring regularly but, Peter told me that, if I don’t leave now – I’ll be 6th in the pecking order for a strikers place!”

Maybe it was after that, that Lawwell introduced, confidentiality clauses ?…Hmmm ?

Now, would Lawwell have told any of MO’N’s players what place they’d be in, in the pecking order ?

Ye see, since MO’N left the club, Desmond and Lawwell have put the club at the back of the bus.

They only care about, how much of the fans money that they can swally….imho.

Neil Lennon took on the mibs and, when the establishment couldny take the light of truth being shone on them, they started to send bombs to NL and his QC.

The PLC-Hierarchy showed they’re colors by, reigning NL in and, ‘helping’ to stitch him up for the entire ‘shame-game’ bust up where, Celtic had 3 players booked and yet, Celtic PLC-Hierarchy or – Lawwell to be more specific, sold Celtic’s souls to all the devils in hell by having the audacity to attend a govt-summit and, rubber stamping the blame on Neil.

Neil left and was replaced by another puppet-manager, Ronny.

Ronny left and has been replaced by a, puppet-squirrel-manager- Brendan.

Folk say that this is the best time to be a Celt since the MO’N era.

Well, ye see….MO’N could have walked out the door at Celtic and, go into an EPL managers job the next day.

Can the same be said about Brendan ?

I would say that ye can’t.

Ye see, if Brendan could go into another EPL managers job – he’d be in it.

He has come here to help sell season tickets and, as he’s an executive employee

he’ll probably be getting a bonus from all the money that has been ploughed into the club by

innocent, well meaning, faithful Celtic supporters who are about to be taken for the biggest

ride in they’re Celtic supporting lives by a bunch, Irish mafiosa basturts who have ripped the soul

from Celtic FC by they’re, sleekit complicity that your fab 4 should have made yer 1st port of call, rather

than all the – SFA, UEFA, FIFA etc – ye see, when there is a snake in yer bed, that has to be dealt with 1st, before ye start on the howling dogs at yer front door.

I wish you all the best with yer crusade against the authorities and all they’re cheating.

But, I think that the group who cheat the Celtic supporters ‘more’ than anyone can be found in the PLC-Hierarchy-Sleekit-Board-Room.

Do you think that say……Hearts FC were involved in the ‘shame-game’ that, they would have attended a govt-summit after having 3 players booked then, sleekitly….let Robbie Neilson take the blame for all the huns antics ?

Ye see, Hearts FC have got ‘HEARTS SUPPORTERS’ filling the rudders on they’re ship.

    So, AULDHEID….the Celtic-PLC-Rudderless-Ships make-up gave the huns they’re 3 in a row.

    But,….know who’s fault that is ?

The innocent, well meaning, faithful Celtic supporters who have ploughed all the £millions in to the sleekit-rudderless-PLC-Hierarchy’s driveways have cut they’re own throats because they’re not rebels, anymore.

And, oh how the PLC-Hierarchy play on that.

    I don’t want this.

    I really don’t.

But, I’m afraid it might take Brendan’s Celtic losing the league title to the died(LOL) huns

before the Celtic support of today realize that, a rebellious exorcism of the club is required.

    So sad.

AULDHEID – You’ll Never Walk Alone…with, The Spirit Of The Jungle.

Aye….The Spirit Of The Jungle that got rid of the ole board….oh how

the ghosts of the Jungle’s tears are felt on the pitch at CP, so sad.

    ….oot-zzz……

A report by the TUC, published on Wednesday, shows that real earnings have declined more than 10% since the credit crunch began in 2007, leaving the UK equal bottom in a league table of wages growth.

Using data from the OECD’s recent employment outlook, the TUC found that over the same 2007-2015 period, real wages grew in Poland by 23%, in Germany by 14%, and in France by 11%. Across the OECD, real wages increased by an average of 6.7%.

  18. Daily Ranger alert – sevco fanzine continues its not so subtle or subliminal ‘bigging’ up of the govan galacticos while belittling Celtic.

    – Sevco goalie reckons Barton and kranjcer have ‘raised the bar’

    Meanwhile they ask…

    – Is Scott Sinclair worth the money?

And, positive headline aside about BR not using excuses, go on to register all the potential problems Celtic might face in Astana today.

This is followed by a headline:

    – Brendan Rodgers dare not repeat the mistakes he made at Liverpool.

The intrepid sports desk has gone to the trouble of calling a guy at the Liverpool Echo to get a negative slant on oor Brendan.

    Tossers.

All it does for me is make the prospect of winning across the next few seasons under Brendan all the sweeter.

We know their form, I probably shouldn’t look at it. I worry that this is what mAkes some celts so anxious when we lose a goal or aren’t winning by 4 goals ten minutes from the end of games – it definitely plays a part.

Let it motivate you but don’t let it influence you!
