Thank you to everyone who participated in our auction for the Lionel Messi signed shirt, which raised £1020 when it closed this morning, a clear £20 more than the Celtic top signed by the Seville squad, which closed a few days earlier, you are a credit to the club. Our summer fundraising for the 1254125 campaign and other good causes is off to an excellent start.
We have seven weeks until our first Champions League qualifying game but the qualifying rounds do not end for a full 12 weeks. These timescales will determine how seriously Celtic take interest in our star players. Right now, there will be little attention to these matters.
With a couple of new contract offers unsigned after 8 months, I expect Celtic will have a sale valuation in mind, but business is often done in the final days of the transfer window, and until then, efforts will continue to re-sign players. Celtic are in the fortunate position of not having to accept an offer to keep the lights on, so if valuations are not met, as was the case with Gary Hooper in January, we can afford to let players leave for nothing.
Willie Wallace’s autobiography, Heart of a Lion, sold out initial stock at the mail-order fulfilment centre and several retail stores last week. The fulfilment centre is now back in stock, all orders should be shipped and with you in a couple of days.

Not my thing , never my thing . Bog standard pub rock —but hey -each to their own .
Pal sent me a DVDR of something called—-Bloodied but Unbowed -Bloodshot Records Life in the Trenches —— live performances by the likes of Ryan Adams / Bobby Bare Jnr / Will Birch and Graham Parker .
I watched it [ not my thing ] and then gave it to a Dead Head who lives in Scicli . He loves it .
Tom, you’re in my thoughts.

So sorry to read your post.
My close friend was also diagnosed 10 years ago,he is older than you, however despite this we were all together in the Nou Camp this year and his treatment continues successfully.
Keep positive I will remember you in my prayers.
Tom McLaughlin
That’s a tough one, keep the Faith
Thought and prayers for you and your familiy
All the best Tom. Hope it turns out well for you. A relative has been through a similar experience over the course of the last year with a similarily aggresive tumour and initial high count and he has progressed well through a new treatment that relies on a regular injection. I don’t think he has had any other treatment so far He got into it through an NHS programme.
No idea if this is available to you, but thought it worth mentioning what treatment he was undergoing just in case it is an option for you
Morning,all-just catching up.
Happy 80th to Alex Byrne,a man who lived the dream we have all had.

TOM,I hope you can display the strength that has seen you slap aside the various health problems you have had over the years. I for one have total faith in you. Bestaluck buddy!!!!

If Martinez can do to Everton what he did to Wigan then half of Merseyside will be happy. The red half.
Tom…thoughts and prayers with you as you take on this fight.

My young brother had the same trouble a few years back after the initial treatment he had an operation followed by more treatment. After that he attends once a year just to be sure it is gone. He was 44 years old and will be 49 this July. So keep the fight going mate, having read your posts on here you are clearly a man of strength and character. I am sure that you will win this battle.
You will be in my prayers.

I never picked the bar, I was only asked if I would like to attend to meet some guys for a few beers. I thought that maybe I would extend the same courtesy to yourself as was offered to me. I am aware after we met that you are not a fan of the pub, frankly neither am I, but good company is good company where ever you choose to have a beer.

For what’s it worth —-
Old man down the road [ mid 80s ] was diagnosed with Stage 2 Prostrate Cancer @ 2 years ago . He is being treated by hormone therapy using something called Abiraterone. He leads a normal life —-does a day’s work / climbs ladders / climbs trees / drinks a lot of red wine and melegrano juice.
Best wishes.
Tom McLaughlin
My thoughts are with you on reading your bad news.
A close friend of mine was diagnosed 3 years ago with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. As others on here have already said, it can be beat – he has been clear for over a year now.

Gold Coast Tom,
Shocked by your news. My prayer batteries are very low but I will make an effort to recharge them.
Your open acceptance of your situation is a positive in itself & I think we all know that you have the ‘cussedness’ to not give in to it.
I know a lot of people who have beaten this, now all too common, complaint.
So WILL you.
Good Luck.
Tom McLaughlin…….just read your post. You’ll be in my thoughts as you go through this challenging time.
Take care,
Ronnie

SofTunis- bog standard?
Nothing bog standard about ‘Squeezing out a Spark’.
Howlin’ Wind/ Heat Treatment/Stick to Me/Squeezing out Sparks is a pretty impressive body of work.
One of my best nights out ever was Graham Parker and the Rumour, supported by Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, at the ole Apollo.
