A number 10

936

A journalist friend in Norway tells me Jo Inge Berget is a traditional no. 10, not a striker. We need both. Kris Commons fills the creative roll almost exclusively, we need someone to share the burden, but we still need a strong, penalty box striker, who can stand up to the pressures of Champions League football.

Best of luck to Tony Watt, best of luck to Standard too, who I hear have put a lot of skin in his contract. Belgium should give him a better chance of fulfilling his potential than anywhere in the UK. It’s head down and work hard time.

Hear that Alfredo’s at the top of West Nile St is showing the game tomorrow.

As an aside and being allergic to Buchanan Galleries shopping as I am, this is a comfortable 9am pint with a roll’n’bacon/sausage establishment to hold in the memory-bank.

Passed by it yesterday and noticed it opens at 8am!

Alfredo’s is my new favourite Glasgow hostelry.

Discovered it on our visit to Glasgow last March.

We were staying in the Premier Inn across the road and had intended to gave breakfast, but my brother , who gad arrived a day earlier, returned the P I ‘s offering and sussed out Alfredo’s, where his longing for a real Scottish breakfast, after 50 odd years away, with skwer sausage, was amply satisfied.

No fuss, no nonsense, just good honest food.

My wife and I were back in Glasgow in April, en route to Edinburgh and we had lunch there, plus a couple of pints.

Two of the tastiest lasagne I’ve ever had, chips and garlic bread, £6.95″ for the two!

The bar was quite busy at lunch time and, even though I’ll never see seventy again(sob), I was one of the young ones in the place!!

The wee gem of a place.

Must admit since the GB have been moved away from 111 life is a lot more easier at the turnstiles, less harassment, less handi hock for searches, ridiculous behaviour by the stewards beforehand.

So, according to Paul we haven’t signed a striker, we have a No.10 for 6 months, just to see how it goes.

The longer this charade goes on………………………………………

Tis beconming a joke bhoys, they are rippin then piss.

We need a striker, a defender, a CB to be precise, and cover for Izzy, more than anything we meed a playmaker, yet we get a loan of a failed link man.

Minimum of 2 months subscription at £9.99 / month , I think . If you take the years subscription instead of the monthly option you get the full year for £95 .

Ronny has impressed me a lot, it would be a shame were he not to be supported fairly by the power brokers.

Shucks. We wouldn’t even get into the Tim Henman would we? It would be Euro oblivion. A kind of Luxembourg purgatory.
