A week for leaks

1020

This seems to be a week for leaks.  I hear one club recently refunded two investors to the tune of £500k each.  Don’t worry, it wasn’t Celtic, and I hear the club involved are one of the most financially secure in Britain.  I also hear the national broadcaster rejected a former presenter’s request to return to the fold.

Still nothing from the SFA, who were responsible for issuing associate membership to Newco Rangers, on the leak from the club’s board meeting that the Association expressed alarm that earlier information had leaked from chairman, Malcolm Murray.  Mr Murray recently instigated an investigation into the relationship between Craig Whyte and Charles Green, the nature of which could invalidate Newco’s associate membership.

Far from being alarmed at leaks, the SFA should be keen to see full disclosure.  Reports suggesting otherwise are alarming.  I am sure the SFA president has already demanded openness and clarity…….  Relax, standards of corporate governance at the SFA are as high as ever.

I am also sure the leak from Newco was not a shot across the SFA’s bows, providing a glimpse into what looks like some murky conversations which people at the Association could have much to lose from being exposed.

I agree, the reduction in season ticket prices was more to do with killing off Sevco than rewarding Celtic fans.

Not that I am complaining one bit, get it right roon the zombies.i

    *******

    Nonsense.

Celtic don’t run their business like that.

If they did, they would be in the same mess as Pricefreezers.

Keep up the good fight, great to see you posting

  3. Not applauding a winning team onto the pitch is simple unsporting behaviour and the players should be suitably sanctioned, there’s no other conclusion.

This isn’t a John Terry/Rio Ferdinand situation where two players have history. It’s players allowing their inbred hatred to publically manifest itself, and feeling comfortable within their football and social culture to do so.

One of the clear tenets of professional football is respect for your fellow professionals. The behaviour displayed by those players sends out a wholly unsavoury and bitter message to the youth of Scotland.

  4. Many thanks for good thoughts from all of you.

Hopefully I’ll get a bit of a reprieve when the radiotherapy ends and I can have a better quality of life for a time.

And get some things done that I’ve been incapable of. It’s a slog, but there’s the promise of time to enjoy regardless of the terminal inevitability of it all.

And these days I could not care less about the manky mob; they’re an absolute irrelevance, creaking and cranking their way down the cul de sac of their own making.

My I just thank TFPLG in advance as IMO if it was not for his rank rotten managerial ability and the dross he served up in Scotland’s lowest division last term Sevco may have been able to push the ST price up slightly .

May I also state on behalf of every Celtic fan ,I think your worth EVERY penny of your £750,000 pa salary .

  14. Anybody know anything about the regulation of charities-rules for % incomes and declaring incomes etc. I’m sick of someone in work whose family run a charity but are basically on the make. Their lifestyle is phenomenal.

Paul 67, two payments of £500k but who sanctioned it? We have the current offers from the brothers to buy shares when they become available. The same brothers cast aspersions re Murray.

Why buy into a club at a premium rate when it is leaking £1m a month and these shares won’t be available until when?

Add in a £1m pay off to the £1m losses per month and the hopeless season ticket situation and you have Icarus FC.

  19. Ghood evening bhoys and ghirls,

I haven’t been on for a while although I have managed to lurk once or twice recently.

Frankly, I’m disappointed Sevco didn’t lower their season ticket prices. Their fans have been fantastic this season by staying away from our ground… and most other SPL grounds. That should have been better rewarded.

I’m on principally to ask for a little help as I can’t find the info I’m after on the UEFA site and I’m sure some of you will know. You always seem to!

Does anyone know the dates the CL Qualies could be played in July/August this coming season? I’m assuming all 6 games will be on Wednesdays but I’m open to correction.

  20. TTTT

Brighton should have been promoted with the squad they have

Not sure that Poyet fits the Everton criteria

  21. tommytwiststommyturns on

Miki – more power to you, sir. Keep on keeping on.

TCC – I think Everton’s ideal candidate is Big Malky, but he would get a bad name if he left Cardiff in the process of bringing them up to the Premiership.

I went through the options on the Oddschecker website and felt Poyet was a decent sporting bet. The alternative was Everton doing an Anfield boot room and promoting from within….Stubbsy or ole Grandpa Weir. I put a fiver on Weir at 50’s, but Stubbsy’s price is quite short now!

Million £ loss a month is nothing to a club with a zillion followers world wide, 20 million in the bank and a manager who holds the world record for steak bake consumption
