A week for leaks

1020

This seems to be a week for leaks.  I hear one club recently refunded two investors to the tune of £500k each.  Don’t worry, it wasn’t Celtic, and I hear the club involved are one of the most financially secure in Britain.  I also hear the national broadcaster rejected a former presenter’s request to return to the fold.

Still nothing from the SFA, who were responsible for issuing associate membership to Newco Rangers, on the leak from the club’s board meeting that the Association expressed alarm that earlier information had leaked from chairman, Malcolm Murray.  Mr Murray recently instigated an investigation into the relationship between Craig Whyte and Charles Green, the nature of which could invalidate Newco’s associate membership.

Far from being alarmed at leaks, the SFA should be keen to see full disclosure.  Reports suggesting otherwise are alarming.  I am sure the SFA president has already demanded openness and clarity…….  Relax, standards of corporate governance at the SFA are as high as ever.

I am also sure the leak from Newco was not a shot across the SFA’s bows, providing a glimpse into what looks like some murky conversations which people at the Association could have much to lose from being exposed.

Livibhoyi remember being in the enclosure below the main stand at ipox when Charlie scored the winner.

No idea why he went there.

I always thought he was a Tim. never let a journalist in your clubs inner circle. When he does go it will cost them a fortune (which they don’t have) to keep him from spilling the beans.

I expect a book when he does leave.

Two guys who stood next to us in the Jungle got tickets for Ibrox the day our fans were banned.

They told us the story the following week. When John Collins free kick goal went in. One of them (the quieter one) stood up and thought oh what a goal. The other guy (total nutter) jumped on his back. They were escorted out (for their own safety) to a torrent of abuse and objects were thrown at them.

Braver men than me. I was at the reserve game that day. Saw a guy smash a ghetto blaster off the ground when Mikhaelechenko scored the equalizer.

  7. Livibhoy…

I thought he was a Tim as well….

Was his father not a Labour MP for Airdrie & Coatbridge…..??

    Anybody confirm…?

    Re. the “Banned” game…..

I’m positive that Claire Grogan was being interviewed on the telly….and when she was asked what her favourite memory of Glasgow was….she said….

“Being outside Ibrox at the lock-out game….and going mental when John Collins scored”..

    I maybe maybe that up…but I don’t think so.

I know Jabba’s father was a big union man – he was on many a picket line.

Unlike Jabba, who crossed a picket line when the NUJ were on strike. I think his auld fella must be doing cartwheels in his grave at the way Jabba has turned out.

  10. Starryplough….

I have a lady friend ” home” from South Africa at the moment…..

    She is FREEZING….all day….every day…..

I was there a few years ago, but you have to go to Sun studio, Stax Museum, Lorraine Motel, The Peabody Hotel for the Ducks. Beale Street was very short I thought but maybe that’s just me. No trip to Memphis of course would be complete without a visit to the King’s house, Graceland and of course you should make a point of staying at the Heartbreak Hotel. There’s also a museum on Beale Street which may or may not be the Gibson Guitar, there was so much to see in such a short time. Enjoy

    Not an MP then…?? or a politician….??

    Thanks for that….

  13. borgo67, HT, he was with the Record by the time he ate the lamb.

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure. If he was important enough I’d do a bit of research.

The baws already burst as a sport in scotland . They have already been allowed to continue longer than they should have . Never again can hampden be viewed as the administrators os scottish football . I cant get over doncasters nerve ,turning up to stand on the podium with the good guys , knowing whats went on . Silver cup .brass neck

An educated guess would lead me to suspect that Jabba is leaking the information to the press. He wants out and needs to get a newspaper to take him. Good chance he will go freelance.

A cushy job at the DR & Radio Scotland to go to Ibrox? Makes no sense to me. Journalists don’t do that for nothing. He isn’t a stupid man. What is he there for? Time will tell no doubt.

  16. Was it not Jabba that the Beast referred to as a “jumped up little socialist” or words to that effect. My memory was that he was at least neutral at the time but the slippery slope was long before he jumped to the Record.

Not sure. It is possible though as he was a big union man.

Cheers for that. Been reading up for places to go but always better to get advice from somebody who has been. Only there for three days then off to Chicago so looking for recomendations for there as well if poss.

My Mrs feels the cold all the time too, I just advised her to get some hoodies and stuff in the case, me I’m travelling light!!

    TK Maxx here I come!

  20. Livibhoys, when the dust settles, there will be a book to be written, where better to do it than from the inside. Traynor always has an angle, just the one though, what’s best for Jim!

  21. Mike Bhoyle: “I thought he was a Tim as well….

Was his father not a Labour MP for Airdrie & Coatbridge…..??

    Anybody confirm…?”

Well that will be correct as the Labour Party are all Unionists now por cierto.

  22. The banned game. At the reserves match.

I remember Iain (?) Ferguson going mental trying to restart the second half whilst a band were still playing in the centre circle

  23. Think it was maybe Brian Dempsey who had a father an mp from up there bhoys.

  24. Doc is Neil Lennon

I suspect that is what he is planning. No other reason to get involved at that club. Looks like he is finished in the press. The book will maybe supply him his retirement cash but who is going to buy it???
