Aberdeen’s win at Fir Park last night may have delayed Celtic’s title party but it will be the form of the Pittodrie team, who remain in the Scottish Cup, which will most concern Brendan Rodgers. Celtic’s record against Aberdeen has been imperious since the Irishman took over, but the oftener you show your strengths to an opponent, the better prepared they will be next time.
Aberdeen finished second to Celtic in three of the last four domestic competitions and are in the mix for the second in the league and the Scottish Cup final, should we get through our semi, I will be quite happy to see Motherwell also progress to the final.
Before all that, we have Dundee at Celtic Park tonight, then a trip to Hamilton on Sunday. Win both of those and we will be at least 12 points clear with five post-split games to play. If Aberdeen drop points in each of their next two games, we could win the league against Newco on 22 April, although it would be nice for our city neighbours to watch a league title being won, it does not look likely.

Over 35 year ago I had a wee business partner who was a Hammer, a wee bit older than me and knew all the well known Hammers of the day. He had a neanderthal brother-in-law who originally came fae Govanhill and who I’m led tae believe liked tae create 1690 every Saturday when bevied.

Pre 75 we played 17 teams twice which meant too many games against wee diddy teams. Then, when it became the SPL we played 9 teams 4 times. Too many teams were concerned with the prospect of relegation so it was all change again.
I quite like the current format.3 games against everybody but only a fourth against the other top 6 teams. No fourth game against the diddy teams.
That said, the format outlined by Jobo above is almost perfect in every way. Which is why it wouldn’t be considered by the SPFL!
The answer to your question I suppose is that self interest by the club’s trumps whatever the fans want. Mind you, when you consider that in the past few seasons we’ve had Hearts, Hibs and Dundee Utd fall through the trapdoor.
Only Celtic, Aberdeen and Rangers have never been relegated.

Celtic have known about the real possibility of parking restrictions for several years. is there plans in place to build a suitable carpark for celtic park and the chris hoye building??
Might not be worst idea to get a good size car park built asap to deal will the issue otherwise many supporters might struggle to get to games, ps council are a joke, have two world classes facilities then make it hard for people to get there, words fault me
