Up against it tonight but hope springs eternal. If we can keep it tight at the back it only takes one goal to change things.
They’re missing a key player as well, Chringysky the centre half, who also missed the first leg.
I remember us being caught not knowing whether to stick or twist in the 2014 CL playoff v Maribor after having drawn 1-1 away from home in the first leg. Lets hope AEK think the job is already done, if they do then we have a chance.

So it’s warm weather football for Celts again to-night. just cannot believe that we start this match without our top French strike force but Griff is also a top goalador and lucky he’s fit for the match. Why does this man take corner kicks when his place should be in the box at all times?
I did not see the game last week and know absolutely nothing about this team except it was their first competitive outing of the season and from reports just sat back and defended. Hope this lack of football will come back to haunt them this evening. Celtic look a bit more solid at the back and Jozo can be good on his day and hopefully Mikel can reproduce his World Cup form.

While we’re waiting for kick off can I ask again if anyone knows of a pub in or around Corofin County Clare that will be showing the League Cup match on Saturday lunchtime. There’s EPL ‘entertainment ‘ on at the same time which might limit the options.

Heart says celtic can do this 2-2. Head says usual away from home 0-3 reverse and given a footballing lesson.
Need to be clinical in the key moments. At both ends.
Can’t be leaving big gaps between defence and midfield when they break.

Our defence will have to play very well. That’s defence. Too many on here worrying about our defense.
If we fail tonight, we still have a play off round to negotiate to secure Europa League participation until Christmas, it is not a given.

DAVID17 , yes going into the last 5 having seemingly do our job getting to 3- 3 ,i would like that wee bit of security …..you know Celtic always a tightrope :)).
I am going to say this and say it only once.
This is not the line up BR would have wanted to field but due to injuries/circumstances it is the best we have.
What guarantee would we have that had we bought a higher standard of player that they would be available for the kind of game they had been bought to play in?
How many of such should we have on our books and at what cost to minimize the risk of not qualifying because of their absence?
Its a friggin lottery so how many tickets do you need to buy to get your money back?
