The positive from tonight, and the 4 games so far, is we have as good a back four as we’ve had for a very long time.
Middle to front we are as bad as we’ve been for a very long time.
We get so little shots away, off target or on. The only person shooting tonight was Kayal and that’s almost pointless.
Game over, out classed by a very average team.
If we can’t pass a ball then at least can we be fitter than the opposition??

not happy – we gave them too much respect – lennon showed no faith in players who were fitter than a couple of our starting 11. If he didn’t know that before the match , he must have seen it after a pathetic 1st half but didn’t change it. WHY?? we had players who could hurt Ajax , impose on them and we were lame.

Poor poor poor performance, really disappointing. Half the team can barely pass the ball at times, the years long lack of off the ball movement and our control is woeful.
In a game like that you either defend properly and counter or you go for it. We did neither. Our fitness isn’t great either.
Lenny has to learn to use his players better, he has very limited funds but he makes the signings, needs to realise when things need changing and more importantly when to change things

Poor tonight. The CL is probably gone now. A win against Milan will be enough for Europa and I was happy with that at the outset. All to play for. We learn and move on.
Some good individual displays but an abject overall performance and beaten by a poor Ajax side who were made to look better than they are – oh well Milan at Celtic Park and Barca to beat Ajax and who knows

Not interested in juvenile playground argument
First time I mentioned him was after 20 minutes (hadn’t had a touch by then and I just queried whether he had a touch until then).
Every single contribution by him since then was crap- topped off by the 2 on 1 with an awful attempt at a pass.
Ajax are 6th in Holland. 1st clean sheet in CL. 1st clean sheet in 11.
We were absolutely and utterly awful. Our manager was shocking
We won’t beat AC Milan.
We don’t have the players.
We don’t have the manager.
FF, , VVD and Lustig CL class tonight

Ajax are poor … However ….it’s the kind of display you get when you vandalise your squad by selling your best players and with the exception of VVD replace them with second rate crap
And the manager was as bad as our worst player tonight …no goal threat tonight against a team who haven’t kept a CL clean sheet for many games
As poor a CL display as we’ve had to endure for years

The best we can say of that is that we did not allow Ajax to dazzle and, again, we look less nervous with this competition than we once did.
However, some of our bigger performers were not quite there tonight.
I shall leave it to those who have an appetite for such things to nominate their favourite scapegoats.
We really need 3 points against Milan now.

Not going to hang around on here tonight because I know what’s coming BUT before I go that was beyond disappointing .
Dreadful dreadful display. We didn’t deserve anything from that game. Good performances from Fraser and the back 4 and pass marks for Stokes but the rest were never at the races.
It’s a sad indictment of our summer business that Neil thinks the XI that started tonight are better than Boerrigter, Pukki and Balde.
Although I have to say I agree with him based on their displays to date.
