NEIL LENNON reveals he is in the dark about Celtic’s reported third bid for Charlton’s Alfie Doughty.

The nine-in-a-row champions have been linked with a fresh offer of £800,000 plus add-ons for the 20-year-old left-sided midfielder who has been scouted by head of recruitment Nick Hammond already this season, as CQN reported.

The newly-relegated League One side are desperate to hold onto the player who will be a free agent in June when his contract runs out.

Doughty is on Lennon’s wanted list and the London side’s resolve may have weakened with their Carabao Cup exit last night as they crashed out following a 3-0 thumping at West Ham.

The Hoops gaffer, who is preparing his players for tonight’s Premiership match against St Mirren in Paisley, did not give anything away when quizzed on the up-to-date position with the October 5 deadline looming.

Lennon, speaking to The Scotsman, merely said: “I don’t know. I couldn’t tell you what the situation is with that.”
