Dundee are nine points adrift at the bottom of the SPL but made a good fist of it against Celtic last night, after a rocky start. They held their own for a good 30 minutes either side of the interval. They are clearly the worst team in the league but they are a pretty decent worst team. Armageddon-SPL is strong at the bottom end.
You and I know the Celtic support, as a group and to any statistically significant level, are vastly better behaved than any supporters of any other large football club. This is a source of enormous pride but comes at a cost. Over 20 years later you will still hear about fruit thrown by one idiot, I do. This is a good thing. It means that there has been little to talk about these past 20 years.
When you benefit from the greatest reputation in football you are held to the highest standards. No one will blame Chelsea fans when we drop the ball. I’ve heard no reports of damage or injury at Dens last night, but 20 years from now someone will tell you what was said by a representative of Dundee today. This will be a good thing.

Lustig…….on the way back down the Road after the game was asked as to my man of the match and at the time I elected for Lustig and that that was him only getting 45 mins but on the flip side too skinny for my choice of defender and can be outmuscled at set pieces
However his distribution last night led to the 2nd goal and is far better than izzys is at the present time

Dunno about that. Back in the day,if someone pointed out that I was guilty of inappropriate behaviour for a Celtic supporter,I would have heeded their advice.
Now,I think our younger element are more likely to reply in a form containing a lot of effs.
Thing is,I don’t think that is confined to our young fans-it’s prevalent in society at large nowadays.
And it’s not helped when police and stewards refuse to do their jobs.

IIRC HAMILTON TIM has,in the past,been critical of certain behaviour during away games.
He said he didn’t hear anything last night and I believe him.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that there was nothing to hear,btw.
Last year,I was at the Rennes match,right beside the Green Brigade. I said then that they did NOT sing the song they were accused of doing,as I would have heard it. As would my Dad and his brother.
Pretty much the same scenario,I think.

Though not at the Rennes game, watched, listened to it, total travesty. The Green Brigade helped drive us to victory. And were punished for it. Dundee was something else, and I happen to believe some of the Celtic support let us down. Simple as that.

Not a problem with that-there have been plenty of posters since the game have mentioned poor behaviour (or worse) at the game.
Equally,others have said they witnessed none,and others still have questioned the standard of policing/stewards.
FWIW,I got a text about it-from a ST holder-reminding me of previous discussions,and that this has been coming.
Their opinion being that too many current fans are only interested in their own day-oot,and no regard to others or to the club.
Seen plenty examples of it over the last fifteen years or so,the price of a ticket now seems to entitle some people to behave like,well,green huns.

My brother, God love him, the finest fella I’ve ever known who goes out his way for everyone else, more than anyone I’ve ever known…..a hard time at work, until recently, where he realised they’re mostly masons.

When all this crap was kicking off a couple of years ago, the hun thing, I posted time after time that we would be the ones who would be on the receiving end of pumped up hate, and it seems that I was right.
I even akined us to a Jewish team playing in Nazi Germany in the 30s, now that may well have been a tad OTT, but it wasn’t that far off the mark, they would see us all dead and gone if they thought they could get away with it.
