After full time on Saturday Celtic fly east to play Shakhter Karagandy in Kazakhstan, which is five hours ahead of UK time, but fortunately kick off on Tuesday is 9pm local time, 4pm in the UK, so the team will not have to adjust body clocks. Such a long flight immediately after a game is not without risk, though.
Muscles need to stretch and move freely after exertion. Players will need an exercise routine for the plane to mitigate the risk of the kind of strain injuries we see so often. Get a schedule for them to walk up and down the plane every hour.
I expect Celtic will have a scout at the Astana Arena for Friday’s game between Astana and Shakhter Karagandy but it might not be too revealing. The Shakhter coach and first team squad didn’t even attend the game prior to their last Champions League qualifier against Albanians, Korce. They were locked away in preparation as the second team were deployed for the league game.
It’s back to the Astana Arena, with its plastic pitch and closable roof, which is 135 miles from Karagandy, for the visit of Celtic, who will be hoping the pitch is a better standard than the one they played on in Sweden last week. Neil Lennon could perhaps put a call into his former team-mate, Aiden McGeady, who played on the surface for Ireland 11 months ago (Ireland won the World Cup qualifier after being a goal down with a minute of normal time left).

Also, Longmuir was chief executive of the Scottish Football League Celtic were in the Scottish Premier League. Different bodies.
Switched to ITV as I cannot stand Raman. In saying that, English stating it would be an embarrassment to lose to Scotland. Not much chance with Mr sunbed up front.

I spent this morning walking through the oldest Township in South Africa……
I still dont really know what to make of the experience. I still have the stench of sheeps heads (complete with skin and hair) being burnt for the last few bits of meat, in my hair…
The sight and smell of the 3 bedded room which was home to 3 families totalling 19 people. It was a much more traumatic experience than I had expected. It is hard to believe that this can happen in 2013 anywhere never mind a relatively ‘well off’ country like this.
As I was leaving I saw an old man sat watching his washing drying in the foul smelling breeze whilst drinking his ‘Carling Black Label’….and sure enough there on the washing line was a 2005 season (Black Sunday style) Carling logo Hoops Top….

As I have grown older, the less interest I have had in Scotland matches. Some pre-game build-up of old footage on SevcoTV and I’m I’m ready to watch it. First time in a LONG time.

I wasn’t referring to Celtic fans. You’re right if I were it would be hypothetical. If they did it would be hypocritical considering what they feel about Celtic players being booed playing for Scotland but I wasn’t suggesting they might. I’d be more than disappointed if they did.

Didnt have the pleasure of meeting Estadio unfortunately but obviously loved his posts.
It was such a harrowing experience to be honest today. So much worse than I expected and therefore all the more incredible to see this man guarding his drying washing with a ‘Hoops top’ fluttering in the rancid breeze..
The TV here is dominated by SA Soccer, Rugby and EPL . Bundesliga. Celtic obviously does not get a look in. Still great to see the Hoops flying though. CL coverage will at least get the name back on the radar, hopefully we can achieve that in next 2 weeks.
