Three weeks after putting 8 goals past South Lanarkshire’s top team Celtic struggled to demonstrate their superiority against the county’s least decorated SFA member
We’ve seen these games before, East Kilbride looked no weaker than the Arbroath team who took us to a replay after drawing at Celtic Park a few years back, but neither performance was an endorsement of Celtic’s football.
I’m getting an uncomfortable feeling that teams know how to play Celtic. For most, this knowledge will not affect the result, but some, like Ross County and Aberdeen, will figure they can give us the ball all day, and as long as they stick to task, they’ll have a chance.
The only resolution to the ills of the last three outings is to get back on the field and boss a game the way we did several times last month. Ross County and Inverness both visit Celtic Park in the next two weeks and both need to feel a backlash. Let’s hope.

Like you i dont really care about players who dont want to play for Celtic.
However, as long as Celtic are in the EPL fodder business and that the Celtic jersey does in fact shrink to fit inferior players(i.e. the pish thats left that is not EPL fodder) then I’d like to know where the £30m went? some to heated driveways some for more pish!

It’s sad to read so many posts on CQN that decry Celtic players for seemingly being “not interested” or “lacking fight” etc.
IMO, there are so-called supporters on here who know the square root of FA about football, and even less about management of a football team, but profess to have the solution…….sack the board, sack PL, sack Ronny, sack P67……..ha! what then Sherlock?

There is short- sighted a d misplaced resentment against our policy of selling on certain players after a spell with us, let me ask, what is the alternative?
Good young players only will only come to this ‘backwater’ to sign for us, because they see it as a way into the riches of the EPL, by the back door.
Celtic have a reputation now, not only as a world-famous, if declining, name in world football, but also as a stage where ambitious starlets can attract interest from the EPL.
Forster, Wanyama, Virgil, Ki and to a lesser extent, Hooper, Ledley and Matthews. This could continue with the likes of Christie, Allan, Forrest, Bitton, Johansen and who knows, Griffiths.
Are we being seriously being told that we should not have signed or developed these players.
This is the world that we operate in and it is going to get worse with the new £5 billion TV deal on the EPL 2016/17.
The days of long-serving ‘one club’ players are well and truly over.
We must get used to a quick turnaround and that’s why decent length loans such as Patrick Roberts may become just as important as actual signings.
So it is pointless ‘wringing hands’ and blaming our board for selling to exist in the meantime – only when/if we can get into another football environment will anything change. In fact, even though our strategy can often throw up “projects’ that don’t ‘cut it’, we are in fact very successful and will get better.
Another former Euro giant, namely Ajax, have been in this position for the last thirty years, even with larger revenues than ours.

We have some supporters moaning about “developing other peoples’ players” – what else can we do to remain competitive domestically and relevant in any European way.
We can’t just roll over – we must adapt, or, die.
The transfer and wages now extant within the football, are rather like the property market – wild inflation placing top property out of the reach of all but the super rich – what do people do when they can’t buy, they rent of course – renting, or, loaning of players will become the norm within football – it may well be the case that clubs may rarely actually sell players, but renew their contracts and ‘rent/loan’ them out multiple times, selling only at the end of their careers.
It is in our interests to be a trusted club in this marketplace – our reputation for running our club in a professional and honest manner will stand us in good stead, as will our coaching staff, training ground and stadium.
The future will be much more complicated for clubs who don’t have access to the ‘riches’ now the norm in the EPL.
The experienced business people we have in place at our club, all with ‘clean’ reputations, will be well aware of what the future holds – they will not be swayed by nutters with ‘Sack The Board’ bedsheets.

Ronny is the man and will have what seems 2 b a significant number of supporters eating gravel. U gotta c the big picture with RD!! Sure its vital that we get 5IAR but there is something really healthy blooming at CP and so much to look forward to. But 2 many seem 2 b a bit narrow in their thinking. Celtic needed a rebuild – a new philosophy – it is no surprise that the team is labouring right now as RD has his eggs in a few baskets due to his obsession with building for the longer term and bringing in some home-grown talent. LH, SA, RC, KT, AT, PR, CMcG etc all have the potential! to blend into the hoops. However what Celtic should really be doing is UPGRADING their coaching staff to get the best out of these guys – can’t believe that has not had a reshuffle or at least notable additions. They’ve got the talent now get some PROVEN coaches! If RD can and it is becoming quite an IF get the bhoys over the line this season then I think the picture will look Lisbonesque going forward. Stay strong,, don’t waiver and BELIEVE! The Ronny Roar will return soon. Hail Hail!

Good morning from a dark but dry east end of Glasgow. Just reading the BBC news and see a boy was attacked and hospitalised on Victoria Rd on Sunday around 1-30 on his way to board a supporters bus .

Anyway…back to reality…Celtic’s dressing room contains a lot, an awful lot of, pampered pooches who are crying out for a, boot up the backside / nose put oot of joint / shown the door…..all of this will happen if…..the keys of the dug-out are given to John Collins…imho.

But, to be the Celtic manager….you must be capable of being the dirtiest / devious / twisted / torn-faced basturt imaginable to get the team over the line.
You, as a Celtic manager must realize that, when you put yer team of hooped hopefuls onto the pitch, there will be no, Queensbury rules, no level playing field….only, cheating, mibbery, evil-hatred, rules being made up as you go along, sometimes there will be animal fans invading the pitch, trying to assault your players….knowing full well that, they’ll probably get away with it. So, can you develop a team of football gladiators with the steel, desire, work ethic, Celtic level skill and, most importantly….Celtic level discipline were you – never – take the bait, and you must instill into your players that, they have to be capable of tackling for the ball without committing a foul.
I know that the above is a tall order but…

Get rid of Lawwell…make a bid for Delia Smith and, get a set-up like the Hertz….take it from there…imho.
