Three weeks after putting 8 goals past South Lanarkshire’s top team Celtic struggled to demonstrate their superiority against the county’s least decorated SFA member
We’ve seen these games before, East Kilbride looked no weaker than the Arbroath team who took us to a replay after drawing at Celtic Park a few years back, but neither performance was an endorsement of Celtic’s football.
I’m getting an uncomfortable feeling that teams know how to play Celtic. For most, this knowledge will not affect the result, but some, like Ross County and Aberdeen, will figure they can give us the ball all day, and as long as they stick to task, they’ll have a chance.
The only resolution to the ills of the last three outings is to get back on the field and boss a game the way we did several times last month. Ross County and Inverness both visit Celtic Park in the next two weeks and both need to feel a backlash. Let’s hope.

Spiers has an unhealthy obsession with McInnes. He’s been going on about how brilliant he is for a while now. No one has pointed out that teams with a far smaller budget (since that’s the stick he beats RD with) are winning cups and getting to cup finals when he has failed five times in a row. His European record is also abysmal, Tommy Wright has had better results with St Johnstone. He’s also an odious sneaky little rat, like his pal McCoist, so wouldn’t want him anywhere close to CP. There’s no manager currently in Scottich club football good enough to manage Celtic.

IF sevco were to reach the Scottish cup final and there was a wee bit of indecision as to where the final would be played…….if ibrox were ruled out.. could they appeal to the SFA saying all their cup games have been played at their stadium in the past.
A shambolic, but ultimately favourable draw for us. Wonder how many time’s we’ll get a re-run of our League Cup defeat to Morton a few seasons back ?

I would certainly much rather have a drink with RD than with the likes of McInnes…. but, as I said earlier, I”m not sure if it is good or bad managers so much, as some suit the scottish game, and some of the foreign managers struggle to adapt … or more accurately, perhaps, it seems like a lot of the british players struggle to adapt to foreign styles of play/foreign coaches …
Under RD, Celtic are awful to watch … but, the guy did it with an unfashionable club at home, so he clearly isn’t a bad manager ….
maybe just horses for courses …

Watching Sporting Lisbon football team, there strip is like ours.only the green hoops and design is a lot better than ours,also there stadium green every were,not like ours,which in my view is I need of a good makeover, but as I have said many times on here and being ridiculed also.,them that run the club on a lot things, just don’t have a clue,some body posted on here that the absent landlord. Dermot Desmond has put 40 million into the club,we’re did it go,because I can’t for the life of me I can’t see,and all the rebuilding around celtic Park,ie the Celtic way the old school etc.were done with grants.not any of his cash.

I always liked Paul Hartley (except when we were playing against him) … I think he is a good tim at heart, and will make sure his guys are ready to go at Ibroke …. maybe watch the Walking Dead before they head off for the game …. see how its done.

1) What are the landmarks to him being successful….and over what period of time?
2) What setback would constitute a sacking offence..e.g. losing the title this season?
3) What could he do,or, say, in the immediate future that might change your mind?
I don’t doubt his sincerity, but I do have reservations about his judgement, methodology and competence.

Its been about four months since I posted on the apart from a xmas/new year wish to my old chums on the blog. Anyway, so I’m stuck out here in some oil trash shithole and decide to read can for omen light relief.
First post I come across is old Bertie bragging about his meagre salary and ripping into cultsbhoy. now, I must say, cultsbhoy talks a load of utter white, but ffs auld Bertie, why bother getting out of bed for dog money then come on here bragging like you’re Richard Branson. I also witnessed your drivel advice towards Bada Bing. Your pish might go down well with your pals in the pub but you’re putting this shite out on the www? Really?
Cultsbhoy, keep doing what you’re doing, maybe a bit less of the amateur manager shit but regardless, you are no less a supporter than cqn’s very own very underpaid oil tycoon.
On different note, just want to say a very well done to TBB and Paddybhoy1888, and maybe also WTO Jobo. Your buoys done a hell of a job last night and PB1888’s lad deserved his MOM. You should be very, very proud. I managed to catch the whole game here in oil trash city and was immensely impressed with the EK team performance.

There was something that annoyed me last week. The first time Ronny had annoyed me out-with the football field. I’m gonna lay my cards on the table.
I want Ronny to succeed.
From the moment I found out he was going to be the manager I wanted him to succeed and thought this was the correct road, if not the only road. Yeah, I worried when John Collins was forced on him along with Kennedy. Yeah, I watched opened mouthed as loan after loan was foisted on him. Was bemused by Legia then Maribor but understood he needed time.
I’ve been lucky enough to have an audience with RD twice. I could listen to him all night. He talks vision and talks sense. I bought into what he was saying and it was easy to see why he was appointed. At the tail end of last season I thought it was all clicking together. He then got his staycation for pre-season, we then made the same mistakes in the qualifiers. The team this season was lacking that steel that I thought had been developed at the tail end of the season before.
Still, my mantra was that a manager needed two seasons and then he should be judged. We are now over 18 months in and I would fully expect to see improvements and signs of where we are going. I don’t and that pains me.
Everyone raved about RD’s lecture (i’ve put a you tube link at the bottom) and I loved it at the time. I watched it again last week, seeking something that would make me reconsidered my thought that RD won’t be our manager next season. I didn’t see it through the same eyes as previous.
We have a wee software salesman guy that comes to our work. He’s wired, has 3 suits in his car and smells of travel lodge shampoo. Every year he tries to sell us the same system but with certain enhancements. Thing is he has never sorted the thing we highlighted that would make us purchase his system. He is impressive and talks a good game but he fails time and time again on that small detail.
That’s how I viewed that RD lecture.
Then came the crux. RD mentioned that it was good that Man City trusted us to develop players for them. Well, RD if you want to develop players for Man City get a job at Man City. Don’t use us to develop players for other teams. I have no interest in seeing Patrick Roberts. I’m not excited at all. He will get my support when he plays but it’s just like ive borrowed my rich neighbours car to run too lidils.
Like the wee salesman I fear that RD doesn’t see what he is doing wrong.
I still want him to succeed though.

as a support we seem to place an inordinate amount of importance in what our manager says. at least we seem to as soon as results start going against us when everything he says is dissected and criticised. not a pop at you, just something that i’ve noticed and something that really grinds my gears. I’ve spent a lot of time following football in england and you dont get anything like the same level of scrutiny from the fans. we complain about the media and their campaigns to get rid of our managers but we seem to be pretty good at doing their jobs for them without the need for biased commentary
not so much on here but if you look elsewhere on the internet there seem to be a lot of fans who can’t wait to laugh at Ronny’s latest post or pre match conference, as if he’s sharing his most objective honest opinions. i know there are a lot of idiots out there who need to fill something thats missing in their lives by laughing at people, but its depressing that they should feel the need to do it to one of our own
