Celtic will face Israelis Hapoel Beer-Sheva in the Champions League playoff round later this month, with the first leg due to take place at Celtic Park.
Hapoel, carrying a Uefa coefficient of 4, eliminated Olympiakos, coefficient: 70, in the last round – a bigger shock than Dundalk’s win over BATE. They put on two backs-to-the-wall performances, drawing the first leg in Greece 0-0 before winning the return 1-0. In the earlier round they shot the Sheriff Tiraspol from Moldova, winning 3-2 in Israel before securing another 0-0 away.
The positives: the Israeli league hasn’t started yet, so Hapoel will be no further into their season’s preparations than Celtic. It also looks like the play on grass.
In recent seasons Celtic have found new and innovative ways to bow out at this stage but we know what’s required and will be strong favourites to progress.

Here’s a wee thing, and I doubt if you care about my point of view, but here it is.
You don’t know what you think you know. As a result you conclusions may be wrong!
What do I mean – Take that hanger 69 place in USA (can’t remember the number). The wee alien story was put out by government knowing that moon howlers would start banging on about aliens and cover ups. The conspiracy theorists though they new somethging but they did not know what they thought they knew. And the truth was even stranger.
You talk about Celtic’s ambition and signings. Have you ever signed a player? Have you ever been an agent?
I once sat with an agent over a pint and he was killing hiself laughing at the recollection of the reaction by Celtic fans to the ambition of the club for no re-signing one of his players. He had put the story out there that his player was desperate to re-sign – and the club were being cheapskates – but the player had told him that under no circumstances was he staying.
In short you are playing to the agent’s hands by howling at the moon over signings. The more fuss made by support over signings the stronger the hands of the agents. So maybe you are the gullable one dancing to the agent’s tune. Perhaps they are the ones who start the stories about the board and perhaps you are the performing dog following the masters instruction. Perhaps you are even the master!
But then again maybe I’m talking Sh*** but the truth is I don’t know. But also you don’t know. You just think you know. Unless of course you are the master.

Thought the article was poor and avoided the truth on several key issues.
Just watched the Celtic programme on Sky – brought a tear to my eye.
I honestly dont see Hamilton coming away from Ibrokes with anything today.The whole the Rangers at home for there opening game is a set up to give them a good start to the season . They will also have the officials on there side so for me it is 3 points to the tribute act. H.H.
