Better have Dresden expose some weaknesses

851

Technically we’re not preseason anymore, but today’s friendly away to Dynamo Dresden is an important step.  There are six weeks before the end of August, with five Champions League qualifier match days in that time.

Tuesday’s gentle introduction to competitive challenges was probably a good place to start for Celtic, this week’s run-out at Murrayfield will allow more of the squad to get some miles under their belt, but you can be sure we will meet our match at some point in the next six weeks.  It would be better for all that Dresden expose as many weaknesses as possible (at the time of writing that doesn’t look likely).

As usual, the mantra for these occasions is: no injuries.

Legia Warsaw are on league duty this evening. I hope we have someone watching.

Sorry guys , I started watching it , then I saw it was 17 minutes long ! Surely that`s about 18 minutes too long ? Glad it rained on them, I must heave heard some of the stragglers playing a flute in ML2 late on last night, N Irn accents and a couple of verses of TBB`s , seems that was the only tune he could play, anyway local plod arrived and told them to shut up pronto.

Many thanks for your considered response.

I can understand your view, although I think mega security is now unfortunate but understandable , a sign of the times and goes with the territory. Glasgow Airport was a bit like that yesterday.

One thing is for sure when the euphoria dies down and the media scrum has long gone we will still ( God willing ) be there giving the bhoys a cheer.

    HH to you.

PS : Got to go and pick the dog up from jail, sorry I mean kennels. Might just drive over, providing I can get close.

Weird thing in Oxford yesterday-and not that I had an excellent time with Mr and Mrs BILLYBHOY 05,for which my grateful thanks…

He’s working in a wee town about ten miles or so from Oxford and was wondering where he could watch the Celtic games.

I said that I knew a fella from there, mad Celtic fan from Chapelhall.

Unfortunately I’d lost his phone number.

As I was describing him so that BB would know who to look out for, guess who walked past the pub window!

Big Nan, if you are about, I’ve just read your tweet in Etims about the Queen Victoria School abuse and Thomas Hamilton’s connection with the school.

The teacher who tried to get something done about it has been treated appallingly but not as bad as pupils at the school by those who were meant to look after them.

The PBS channel, 534 on Sky, has a documentary about American masons. It hasn’t been on for a while but hopefully will be repeated soon. There was a Scottish influence on them.

Aside from that, you are absolutely correct. This site has too many positives to allow it to be ruined by outsiders.

When we are under threat,we rally round. That is how we do things. Leaving the playground to the bullies is not an option.

If it takes a bit of nasty tactics,so what?

The bad guys shouldn’t be given free rein to destroy the site. Nor should the good guys turn their back in times of need.

I am (was) a big Sammi fan, but I don’t think that he would have been the person to play as the “1” up front – unless he had one or two very sharp players behind him, who were willing to interchange, which we just don’t have since Hooper went. Our midfielders (for want of a better term) have been defensive. KC shone last year because Stokes made space for him to come through.

Sammi is not a natural goalscorer (he’s not instinctive enough), he would need at least one player who IS instinctive, coming from deeper.

In an ideal world, this would be Alan Gilzean (who could be an instinctive striker) to Jimmy Greaves. Yes, dream on, I know….
