Bizarre fantasy-rant from Miller

1206

Someone forwarded me the statement from US based Bill Miller which I read and ignored, thinking it was a wind-up.  Incredibly, it’s ““Real””.

Bill tells us he will invest £11.2m into the club and:

“There is no way that Ticketus would agree to accept a “pence on the pound.

“It is apparent that there will be several lawsuits that will emerge in relation to a potential CVA exit.

“In order to preserve the club’s history, records, championships and assets, I will put the “heart” of the club into an “incubator” company while Duff & Phelps works to make the “sick patient” healthy through a CVA process that effectively works to “radiate” the toxicity of past administrations’ sins out of the patient while the “healthy heart” is preserved and moves forward.”

The above is an actual quote.  I’m not even sure the pubs are open in America at this time of day.

But Bill, the “sick patient” owns the stadium, and as you suggest, a CVA would be prolonged.  Craig Whyte owns security over the stadium and your refusal to deal with him might make playing there…. awkward.  Any creditor, like HMRC or Whyte, could and perhaps would challenge a disposal of assets like the one you suggest.

He goes on:

“Any suggestion that Rangers history is lost by such a process is preposterous.

“Using such logic, Rangers would not actually have a 140-year history as its current corporate structure was only created in 1899. To suggest that Rangers thus have only a 113-year-old history is absurd.”

We’ve explained this one before.  Rangers were incorporated 113 years ago; “Real”.  The same entity, owning the same assets, existed pre-incorporation as an unincorporated football club.

Buying and selling history is almost as entertaining as buying the Eiffel Tower in cash off a guy in a Bellshill pub.  If it’s possible, I demand Celtic PLC get off their bums and buy the history of ancient Greece.

Bill adds:

“My offer is contingent upon the regulatory bodies agreeing that the club will begin play in the 2012/13 season in the SPL and that they will do so without any loss of points and with all historic titles intact.”

Ah, “contingent upon”.  A condition; just what Duff and Phelps asked to be excluded.  You’ve underplayed this one, Bill.  If the SPL will agree to this they will surely agree to give you a 10 point bonus next season, just for being so nice.

“The time for talk is over. The club is in serious jeopardy of dying. “Real” [sic]liquidation is looming.”

I like this guy.  He sounds like a “Real” level headed custodian for Rangers. Alas, I fear Duff and Phelps will be in sombre mood when next we hear from them.

  1. Don’t know about Billy Miller:

What is the darkest place in our country? Is it not the insane asylum of Ibrokes? These people, the huns, are the people who drift through life truly lost, unable to see into themselves at all.

Why would I quote that part about rangers in administration? Do you feel their current plight is an injustice?

Out of context? Do you want me to quote the whole book so it is all in context?

I reckon the team in 6th will enter an incubation period allowing me to buy the heart, history and points of this club, meaning I can disgard the team in 24th.

Still could be worse; at least Sannabhoy, Dick Byrne amongst others are trailing further behind. :-)

Well done to TTT, for getting this updated quicker than the outcome of the BTC!! :-)

  6. Heard first hand In a cafe in Stirling on Tuesday afternoon.

A wee old wifie, (whose husband was maintaining a discreet silence) she admittedly sounding more than slightly dited, proclaiming that she really supported no one, opined that she was so glad that Hearts had beaten Celtic because of the way those Celtic fans had recently been mocking Rangers misfortunes. She then added that she hoped Rangers would resolve their difficulties as they ‘were such a nice club’. Yep that was her exact words.

I see the hun as spreading disaster. I see the hun as a black curse upon the world. I see a long night setting in & that mushroom which has poisoned the world withering at the roots.

Whatever needs to be maintained through machination is doomed.

  14. DUFF AND PHELPS, the administrators of

    Rangers Football Club, issued the

    following statement tonight.

Paul Clark, joint administrator, said: “At the

end of a frustrating week we’d like to

provide an update to the fans regarding the

    bidding process.

“It should be reiterated, however, that no

unconditional bid has been tabled by any

    party.

“There have been a number of complicating

factors in recent weeks, not least the cloud

of possible further SPL sanctions against the

Club and the withdrawal of one of the

parties last week when it emerged they had

no formal agreements in place with their

    partners.

    “This, combined with uncertainty regarding

the role of Ticketus in any future ownership,

has led to delays that we and all Rangers

supporters would prefer not to have

    occurred.

“Let me be clear – we could not have moved

more quickly during the past week as there

was not a bid capable of acceptance.

“Despite suggestions to the contrary, it is

not a case of the administrators refusing to

nail down their choice – we can only accept

    a bid that is unequivocal.

“Today, we have seen the Singapore

consortium led by Mr Bill Ng issue a

    statement announcing withdrawal from the

process whilst indicating the possibility of

launching a bid again at a later time.

“This has been reflective of the changing

    position of bidders.

“We have also read the statement by Mr Bill

Miller that sets out a vision for the club, but

acknowledges it as being dependent on

    possible SPL sanctions.

  15. Deluded hun on SSB just asked why the 12 million from saverangers.com isn’t being used to buy them. I kid you not!

  17. Auld Neil Lennon heid on

Latest caller highlighting quite rightly that the contract with Sky that is on the table requiring Celtic play Rangers itself is counter to sporting integrity.

Roll forward a season and Rangers are in a battle with Ross County, St Mirren, whoever to stay up.

Its the same situation as needing to win the title to stay alive. Their opposition will have no chance if its them or Rangers, just as we had no chanceof winning the title since 2009.

The Sky contract that rewards Doncaster flies in the face of sporting integrity and the SFA should over rule it.

  18. Snake

The Drive tune is great but no one really wants to watch 3mins of goals against Celtic :O)

  19. At the moment we’re 18 points clear with 5 games to go and are already Champions. So to give it a wee edge for the next couple of weeks let’s ignore their points deduction and call it 8. Provided we win on Sunday we can then “win” the league AGAIN by beating Rangers on 29th to then go 11 clear with just 3 to go.
