BROWN BLASTS WARNING

SKIPPER Scott Brown believes Scotland can cope with the pressure as they prepare for tonight’s crunch Euro 2016 encounter with Poland.
With two Group D fixtures remaining – Gibraltar host the Scots in Faro in Sunday – Gordon Strachan’s side are in fourth place, four points behind Republic of Ireland, six behind the Poles and eight behind leaders Germany.

And, while there are several permutations which could see the Scots win a play-off place, defeat against the Poles will end all hopes of reaching the finals in France next summer.

But Celtic’s go-ahead captain said: “‘Everyone is on form, our strikers are scoring goals, our defenders are defending well and midfielders are playing well, too.

‘That is what you need going into these games.

“You have to have a lot of confidence and players in each position playing really well. Thankfully, we have that throughout the squad.

“We have two huge games to rectify the situation and we’re all looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead.
“I know it’s going to be hard. We need to be strong all over the park  and, hopefully, we can get the three points.
“That will be our target right from kick-off.”
