CELTIC CALM AMID £50MILLION TRANSFER STORIES

CELTIC are poised to knock back any potential deadline day bid from Chelsea for Moussa Dembele.

The champions are playing it cool, despite reports from south of the border which claimed Stamford Bridge boss Antonio Conte is considering launching an eleventh hour offer for the Hoops’ 20-goal striker.

The English transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.

It was even being touted that the Hoops had placed a £40million price tag on the head of the 20-year-old French frontman.

However, sources at Parkhead were adamant that the player will not be leaving the club any time soon – just six months after arriving from Fulham.

Brendan Rodgers doesn’t expect to add to his only January signing, £2.8million Ivorian midfielder Eboue Kouassi. He said that with a straight face too.

Nadir Ciftci, though, could be heading for the Parkhead exit with offers from abroad to take the former Dundee United man on loan.

Sunderland were also linked with a £10million bid for Kieran Tierney, but the teenage international left-back won’t be going anywhere and certainly not to Sunderland.

Rodgers insisted: “The kid loves it here. I said when I came in he’s top class. He’s a great young boy who’s living the dream. So, there’s no rush for Kieran.”
