Celtic-Juve after two previous tight encounters

1074

Celtic will play Juventus in the last 16 round of the Champions League.  Juve are seven points clear top of the Italian league having won the competition last season without losing a game.  They eliminated reigning European champions, Chelsea, in the last round and finished above a good Shakthar team.

They are remarkably well organised and don’t lose many goals (10 in 17 league games, 7 less than anyone else), but this is a tie Celtic can plan for.  Juventus will present the same kind of challenge Barcelona did in the group stage, but they are not as effective as the Catalans.

Celtic have faced them twice in the European Cup/Champions League previously, winning both home games and losing away on each occasions, controversially in 2001.

I’m up for this one. Fairy-tale story with the lovable Celts the only British representatives in the quarter finals? Loins girded.

  4. Not read back since the draw just popped in to say I’m not happy with the draw.

I know there are a few on the blog who live there but I’m not a fan of anything Italian.

Hate Juve, well recorded cheating bar stewards with horrible fans and a corrupt, complicit police force.Always hate drawing any Italian teams will never ever go there to watch a game.

Treated like shit by the locals and the corrupt society they live in.

Wee prediction for the first leg,any Celtic player who even breaths in free kick boys direction will be yellow carded as the bought and paid for referee will no doubt be well briefed and prepared. If we get through this first leg without a red card I’ll be genuinely amazed and keep a count of the number of free kicks they will be “given” at the edge of our box………………….

Not happy at all with this draw, the only one I did not want.

As most readers here will remember I ask my esteemed fellow bloggers the meaning of my dreams.

    Here’s the latest.

We are playing Juve at home in the champions league game and Scoo Brown moves down the left touchline and passes across the six yard line and in comes Scott Brown and sweeps the ball into the net.

Now I know this isn’t possible so

    A) Did we clone Scott Brown?

    B) Are we asking players to get some plastic surgery to look like Scott Brown?

Incidentally we were 1 up before the Broonie double act – courtsey of Kris Commons firing into the net afterjust 1 minute.

I woke up when we were 2 up but don’t know the final score.

Again, any help in dechipering the above is grateful.

Better pay that overdue visa bill noo!

    drat.

  14. Smashy….the final score was 6-0……Big Vic scored a hatrick and Lenny came oan as a sub for the tiring Scoo Brown and hammered in the last from 6 inches..

Getting away with just a black-eye is a result in some of these provincial places.

  16. Journalists, fans and Uefa officials were left stunned after the Champions League last-16 draw produced exactly the same ties in both the rehearsal and the real thing – the odds for which are 5,000-1.

  17. A Programme on BBC1 just finished about scams.

My thoughts immediately turned to Charles Greene.

On further reflection,I feel that I’m being brainwashed by CQN.

My thoughts should never ever be about scam master C Greene.

After further reflection I’ve been thinking about my new years resolution,it is to never post anything about THEM,Never to read anything about them.

Finally I hope everyone joins me in my new years resolution and rid this site of the rangers forever.
