Unlike elsewhere, Celtic’s statement yesterday contained no promises or predictions on when fans will be able to attend games in Scotland. The “fans attending by late August” brigade might be right, but no one knows yet. That being the case, better to under-promise.
After their “thanks for your pure brilliant support” (not a literal quote) message, they reiterated an earlier comment, “it is our firm intention to give additional value to our season ticket holders for this and coming seasons”. What that looks like will be determined by how many games we miss. What is appropriate for two games would be inappropriate if you missed two months.
When we get back will ultimately be determined by the politicians. Football is an outdoor activity, where the science suggests the disease is less contagious, but science and political decisions have not always been in step, just look at what politicians did to care homes, so we can expect continuing randomness.
I loved the “aim… to dominate Scottish football” line. Winning is nice but dominating has always been my thing. Good to see we are all on the same page with that one.

No mention of the diabolical run of form in the pre-season cup ?
We deserve better.
Indeed, ‘ but science and political decisions have not always been in step, just look at what politicians did to care homes, so we can expect continuing randomness’.
Let’s not forget schooling: one minute it was part-time attendance with ‘blended learning’ and ‘social distancing’, the next it was back full time with no ‘social distancing’.
A total farce.
I will never tire of saying, that mob have a disproportionate amount of stupid fans😱

This was exactly what I was calling for from the club. I understand that they cannot make specific promises until we know how many were missed.
But show some indication that the loyalty from season book holders is understood and efforts will be made in the future to back the club.
There’s so much serious stuff going on, but I still had time to be struck by the irony of the huge banner covering the seats at Man Utd, saying ‘Football is nothing without the fans’.
I see they’ve also attributed the quote to Sir Matt Busby. Hmm…
Oldtim update
Managed to catch him before he couldn’t be arsed answering today ☘️☘️👍👍
I went to the shops for the first time yesterday and ended up buying a lovely pair of comfy shoes, they were so comfortable I just left them on and put my old shoes in the bag. My wife always moans at me for not being observant, so on entering my house I asked her if she noticed anything different about me? She replied you’ve had a haircut , I said no, you’re wearing a new tie , I said no, you’ve lost some weight , I said no and in frustration went into our bedroom and took off all my clothes except my new shoes. I then came back into the lounge and asked if she noticed anything different, she said she couldn’t. I said my boaby is pointing at them . Ah she said new shoes pity you didn’t buy a hat😆HH
Talk of G.o.D. is back I see, never really been away has it?
Keep safe all.

Football, an outdoor activity, has to come back sooner than anticipated.
Surely by August, we should be able to have at least 20,000 in Sellick Perk
ALLY McCOIST has revealed he tried to sign Jamie Vardy for Rangers when he was manager – but admits he simply cost too much during a financially difficult time for the club.
The English striker is currently the top scorer in the Premier League and has risen to fame with Leicester City following a late breakthrough into professional football.
A financially difficult time for the club. NAE SHIT SH. And it has not gone away.
Well done to Blantyre Tim checking on Oldtim67

Where is Tommy Wright, would be good for Dundee United.
More importantly where is SOT.
Only 6 months to Christmas Eve – nights are drawing in.

It really is incredible to see the influence that these Three Working class Miners had on Football. Busby from Orbiston, Shankly from Glenbuck and Big Jock from Blantyre. Now that would be the subject for a film.
The Mining community gave these men the toughness and work ethic which made them leaders of men with a deep sense of community which is important in a team game.
Manchester United’s mistake in attributing one of Jock’s quotes to Matt is understandable because of the similarity between these greats and their manner of speaking. They are of a type and the English great managers like Ramsay, Nicholson, Mee etc would never have said it.
Whose Quote?
A “Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it’s much more serious than that.”
B.“I never wanted ******** ***** to be second to anybody. Only the best would be good enough.”
C” ****** jerseys are not for second best, they don’t shrink to fit inferior players.”
D. ” Hard work will always overcome natural talent when natural talent does not work hard enough.”
it could be any of them
