Celtic are Britain’s only former winner in this afternoon’s Champions League group stage draw, joining four English clubs, attempting to secure the trophy for the first time. Both Spanish former winners, Barcelona and Real Madrid, are there, as are Portuguese winners, Benfica and Porto.
Like Britain, only one of Italy’s former champions – Juventus – are in this season’s tournament. Past champions from Germany, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund made it, while Netherlands’ Eindhoven complete the line-up of nine former European champions in this season’s group stage.

Enjoy the draw, and remember, game dates can be changed, so be careful if you’re booking flights.

For me, after the last 2 seasons, and even our poor away form this season, qualifying for the CL is (i) more than I think we could reasonably have expected, and (ii) all about the money. BR deserves credit for getting the same players as last season into the CL.
Dont get humped, let the players get some experience, invest the money wisely, and next season (i) we should be out of sight in Scotland, and (ii) BR will have the team (his team by then I hope) playing the way he wants them in Europe.
Frankly, this year is all about the money … making up for the mistakes of the last few seasons, consolidating and building a solid base for the next few seasons.
On the subject of signings would love us to go for Robert Snodgrass.

Just a word to those wanting to book transport quickly …
… when the UEFA procedures say that after the draw the games are scheduled as …
Match day 1: 2 v 3 , 4 v 1
Match day 2: 1 v 2 , 3 v 4 etc …
… it does not necessarily mean that 1,2,3 and 4 are the Pot numbers.
Part of the post draw procedure apart from which ties are played Tuesday and which are Wednesday, the teams are arranged as team 1, team 2 etc. depending on TV, geography, climate etc.
So before booking transport, better wait until finalised game schedule is released couple of hours after draw completed (about 7ish)
