Celtic should accept Wilson ban offer

1201

Celtic should accept the offer of a two match ban for Kelvin Wilson following an incident at Dens Park on Boxing Day.  He has never been an aggressive player, so there is no need to assume intent, but an elbow to the face is a painful experience and potentially dangerous.  These are the rules and they are there for good reason.

Too see you nice,- and I assume you are perusing the internets for some

    semblance of goodly news?

I hope you are looking forward to the big game, and are not to distracted

by the big share issue, and in the true corinthian spirit you pray the better side shall

prevail in the Glasgow derby ?

BMCUWP – It is far more difficult than i first thought mate,i am not picking very many winners either.

    New Year,new start.

Even maybe pick a few at shorter odds just to get ye up and running.

  3. Bournsouprecipe, as I said earlier today, despite my fondness for the amateurs I’ll be hoping for the pr team to win :-)

P.S as far as Corinthian spirit goes, I sometimes run the line at games, and at our level all we are allowed to rule on is if the ball is over the touch line or not, I do think I’m fair and corinthian about this but have to admit that if one of my players “plays” for a foul in the box and it’s a big game I’m happy to take the penalty and glad I don’t get a say in it :-)

    Good morning Timland.

Once again I have been omitted

    from the honours list.All those

year’s of devotion to Celtic, gambling,

    alcohol, and yet no thank’s.

  12. Another mild, mid-winters day in the Chilterns…

Interesting view from Paul67, have to agree with the majority, if Kelvin Wilson clashed with Baird without intent he should appeal.

Over the years I have seen many deliberate assults on Celtic players, sometimes accompanied by smirks and winks never being dealt with by the authorities, these double standards must be challenged in all cases.

Looking foward to the suffolk arm of the clan’s arrival over the weekend for the hogmany festivities.

Extremely graciously and essentially stated that he accepted it for his family and didn’t intend to use it and had a snipe at those who use such things for heir own ends

  14. I hate the honours system beyond words. One of the many ways the paternalistic class system is perpetuated in Britain. For every Wiggins or Hoy, there are a dozen Whitehall mandarins, old Etonians and jolly good boys brought along for the ride.

We now have days of boredom ahead as these tin pot gongs dominate the news agenda. Don’t even start me on the house of lords!

  15. PF Ayr – just seen your Wiggins comment. Off to have a wee look.

Forest an Mulgrew definitely out today then?

Not great news if you stuck a big bet on over 11 corners at evens :-@!

  20. Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle has turned down a knighthood for his role in the opening ceremony for the 2012 Olympics. Radcliffe-born Boyle was reportedly nominated for the gong by the government’s arts and media honours committee. It came after his Olympic spectacular, called Isles of Wonder, wowed critics across the globe. The show featured unique tributes to everything from the industrial revolution and the NHS to Britain’s rich heritage in music, literature and the arts.

More than 15,000 people took part in the curtain raiser – including Daniel Craig, Sir Kenneth Branagh and even the Queen, who ‘parachuted’ into the stadium to take her seat. News that Boyle, 56, has turned down the gong comes almost a week after he said publicly that he would not be interested in a knighthood if offered one.

He said he was ‘very proud to be an equal citizen’ during an interview at the unveiling on a neon-sign artwork at MediaCityUK in Salford.

The sign, in the style of Boyle’s own handwriting is made up of the word ‘Wonder’.

Despite his worldwide fame, the director has never forgotten his roots. He famously took his Oscar trophy – awarded for smash-hit film Slumdog Millionaire – back to St Mary’s Catholic Social Club in Radcliffe in 2009.
