Celtic should accept Wilson ban offer

1201

Celtic should accept the offer of a two match ban for Kelvin Wilson following an incident at Dens Park on Boxing Day.  He has never been an aggressive player, so there is no need to assume intent, but an elbow to the face is a painful experience and potentially dangerous.  These are the rules and they are there for good reason.

sorry bud, point of correction, Sevco are playing Queens Park today.

Not a penny from the game will go to the SFA.

All monies raised go to Queens Park FC.

The bonus of having some old teams world record supporters adopting a new team as their own and following this new team to 4th tier football venues is that the clubs hosting them will enjoy record gate receipts and make them viable for a long time coming.

If the attendance today tops 35,000 then QPFC will make around £500k.

Just now they are building a new “pavilion” at lesser Hampden.

I was up there at two youth trials late summer, I was very impressed with the intensity of the training and the level of player they had.

I dont think “The Rangers” will walk over them at all today, and in fact they might have a tough game.

So anyways its great to see Glasgows oldest club having a christmas bonus.

    Play up the Spiders.

Could you also possibly e-mail myself with that info? Been trying relentlessly all night and last night and this morning to find a boozer showing it. Would be gleefully appreciated!

The bookies are going to great lengths to get people ‘hooked’ on gambling…just thought I would say….

Really pleased that Celtic are appealing Kelvin’s media driven ban ….. I also hope they are investigating the Efe Ambrose scenario, which seems to have been completely ignored (even by the custodians of un-biased commentary / phunditry…..craigen / burley)

  6. Celtic to appeal the Wilson ban. Surely the only option after player, manager and perceived ‘victim’ have all stated it was accidental.

Can’t help but feel Celtic’s media management of the Dens Park “fan violence” was terribly ill-advised. By commenting and denigrating their own fans they made the story nationally newsworthy. They effectively turned a minor incident where 4 fans were arrested, reported only in a small local paper, into a 4 day national media frenzy.

  7. i love celtic and want us to have the best players in the world, i know this will never happen, so i hope for the best team in the world, but i dont think this is possible either.

if we truly want to see some of the best talents about in a celtic top, then we have to accept they will not be with us long enough to build a team around.

when i look at our team right now, i see a number of quality young players and we have to accept they will move on. we will loss victor and hooper over the next 6 months but thats the price we pay for having them in the first place, we have gained from their time with us on the field and hopefully we will gain from them financially as they leave so we can reinvest in the next group of quality young players and the infustructure of the club.

give me that over a big signing who takes lots from the club and gives little back any day of the week.

inho we should and i suspect will build our team around a group of solid professionals who will allow us to sustain success while allowing the real top young players to blossom. bhoys like wilson, brown, ledley, sammy and charlie etc… are the players that are good enough and appear happy to be part of the club long term. same applies to the management, the core needs to stay the same even when some parts come and go.

i will believe we are on the way up when we are regularly bringing in quality young players (through our youth system and by signing them up) every season and in the C/L group stages every season. when i see the physical environment within and around celtic park improve for supporters attending games and new revenue opportunities arise then i will believe we are moving forward, same goes for other commecial activities.

the next 3 to 5 years should tell us everything we need to know and will the profit this year be used to sign quality young players, development of the stadium/ celtic trangle etc… or share dividence?

    hail hail

Jjust listening to the love-in of this new club on radio scotland ……. amusing, to say the least…..can’t wait to see ally’s react to this mythical £10m, when he discovers greengo has no intention of reducing his pension-pot……..

Is their ANY possibility at all that Queens Park will actually be MENTIONED on radio scotland at any point ….. LLLOOOLLL

To be fair, it has been reported that 70 fans were ejected ……. I can’t understand why they decided to play any game at 7.30 pm on St Stephen’s Day…..with what seems to have been a minimal Police presence…? ……..what were you playing at, SFA / SPL ….TV money over all else?

  14. I posted on the way back from Dens late Wednesday night.A rare post from myself.

I was truly disappointed at the behaviour of the Celtic support at the game and mistakenly thought CQN was a reasonable place to let fellow fans know what had gone on.

Unfortunately I was left even more disappointed to the reaction to my post.

Since then both PL and NFL have condemned the behaviour and they too have criticised,so shooting this messenger

The pre-match hype is truly gobsmacking hypocracy…….what a laugh

  22. Well what a surprise. We are into day 4 since the Dundee game and the good ole scottish media are still using the game as headline news. 4 Celtic arrests eh? Well that is worthy of a sustained front page campaign in Scotland.

Well done Lawwell and well done NL – a massive own goal.
