Celtic should accept Wilson ban offer

1201

Celtic should accept the offer of a two match ban for Kelvin Wilson following an incident at Dens Park on Boxing Day.  He has never been an aggressive player, so there is no need to assume intent, but an elbow to the face is a painful experience and potentially dangerous.  These are the rules and they are there for good reason.

  1. The boy jinky

Was under shed at side of pitch at Abroath, walking round at end dodging buckfast bottles on terrace.fireworks ,singing abuse at individual stewards.hardly a Celtic song sung.great

  2. I’ve never seen this new club play before today, do they always get a grade 1 (i know…) official to referee their games?

  3. Must say I’m getting sick of the constant going on about crowd misbehaviour at Dundee. Obviously we are dependent on eye witness reports, some have reported it as dreadful behaviour others as minor stuff so I just don’t know who to believe. There is no doubt in my mind that the date and the timing of the game were the main factors which caused the problem and I do not expect a repeat performance. If it were to be repeated then yes it would be a serious issue requiring serious attention but if it isn’t then we don’t have a problem. Re Racial abuse of our players my understanding from the dispatches were that it was loud booing whenever they were on the ball.

I was at Arbroath there were plenty of songs sung.

    You’ve just lied.

Well said Paul, I have every sympathy for Kelvin Wilson and Baird played up to the incident.

I just turned onto SSP4 to witness Sevco at the same old cheating and the master cheat is none other than McCulloch and an absolute dive in the box whilst in an offside position. No note of caution from the ref ( Collum I have eyes in the back of my head ) and worse A Walker agrees with the cheat McCulloch, after the replay which clearly shows no contact, Wallkers comments ‘that was a sore one, !!! That and the fireworks goiing off in the background !!!

  6. Phil mac has a new article up. Love his description of sevco as a ‘tribute act’.

Maybe i am getting too mellow of late but i think he should be less colourful in his description of the sevco lunatic fringe. They need dealt with but they also need an olive branch and a hand out of their quagmire of bigotry and hatred.

  7. Channel flicking here and I see that about one third of Hampden Park’s stands are “closed”.

    Just saying…

Yup BBC showing the Semi finals 26th 27th January. Then the raith game on the 3rd.

If Celtic had not been shown over the Christnas period it would have meant two months of no Celtic on subscription TV

  9. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!.. Ibrox belongs to the creditors on

This new team in Scottish Football has a long way to go to be considered mediocre

  10. I think the berating of honest regular posters on here is out of order IMO.I think their opinions should be taken at face value.Hamiltontim said the support did nothing to shame the club.Other guys have been posting what they witnessed, I don’t think the head in the sand attitude to defend the support at all times,is healthy or helpful.Like it or not we have an element at away games, which we could do without wearing our colours.Yes,the harassment some guys get at CP,and now away from CP ,is totally unacceptable. What i’m trying to say is let guys have an opinion, without name calling if you don’t agree with what is posted.

  11. Northbhoy – i wouldn’t wish harm on anyone but elbows has been cheating and putting other peoples careers at risk for years. Wish some big dirty centre half would meet like with like regarding that sevconian hammer thrower

  12. Heard that clown Chris mclaughlin on R5 talking about Scottish football or mostly about how sevco have embraced the 3rd division that they are enjoying it and to put the tin lid on it Celtic would be a bit disappointed at playing JUVENTUS who are only top of Serie A but it is not the box office draw they were looking for, there was silence from the London presenters at this.

  13. I don’t think anybody had any complaint about Themelvingael registering his disappointment at some of our unruly youngsters letting themselves down. That is his right. For my own part, I was simply admitting that in the long distant past I might have been one of those boys.

More important to me was that the police were content to arrest our young supporters for singing about idealistic young Irishmen making the ultimate sacrifice of taking their OWN lives, while blatantly ignoring racist abuse of a Celtic player.

More important to me was that those charged with crowd security decided to allow drunks into the ground…because there MIGHT have been trouble if they had kept them outside.

Have you ever heard anything so ridiculous ?

    No. Nor have I.

More important to me was that the SPL allowed this game, which considering the likelihood of festive excesses & the possibility of trouble, to be played at a time likely to maximise any such trouble.

More important to me is that we have a Press which concentrated on the SINGING of an absolutely non-sectarian song while ignoring the racist abuse of the home support.

For these reasons I have NO DOUBT that Celtic have been well & truly stitched up.

Also of more importance to me is that Celtic have taken such a myopic view of what happened at Dens & have been so quick to condemn ONLY their own young supporters.

  14. jobo

Radio 5s “cheif scottish correspondant” reported a sell out crowd earlier this morning??

he had Queen’s selling 2000 tickets when they usually get a couple of hundred proving the draw of the new rangers…..

are you cuggesting that was not a true report?

  15. Quinn is from Calton but lives in Carntyne I’ve known him and his family for more than 20 years.

    Bada

I agree completely with that mate.

  16. Fair comment KK.

A few posters could learn from you that it’s possible to disagree with their fellow Celts without resort to ritualistic insults and name calling.

  17. QOP’s composure, control and passing are good for a team who are part time and amateur.

They don’t look like to have any threat up front, but were increasing their share of possession in the last 20 mins.

  18. Fair Enough Bada, I agree we shouldn’t bury our head in the sand but there are enough of people out there having a go at us and trying to put us down. When I come on CQN it used to be like a haven where you could talk to your own about your own. Of course if something is wrong people are right to report it and discuss it but some of the posts seemed almost to revel in making the picture as lurid as possible and then throwing in an extra sly dig about the song book. When I see this type of posting I start thinking hidden agenda.
