Celtic should accept Wilson ban offer

1201

Celtic should accept the offer of a two match ban for Kelvin Wilson following an incident at Dens Park on Boxing Day.  He has never been an aggressive player, so there is no need to assume intent, but an elbow to the face is a painful experience and potentially dangerous.  These are the rules and they are there for good reason.

  1. themelvingael- I appreciated your postings and would hope you do the same in future, the thoughts of reliable first hand witnesses are worth more than 10,000 tabloid words.

‘A lot of whataboutery going on.’

It’s not whataboutery to point out the hypocrisy and double standards in the level of condemnation by the media, and the middle aged, middle class and middle of the road element who post on here, of, on the one hand, a drunken and unruly element of our support, and, on the other, the widespread racist and sectarian abuse coming from the home support.

I was at the game and was unaware of it as there were also a number of Celtic stewards on duty within the Bill Shankly stand

Now I imagine if said stewards were aware of any racial abuse of a Celtic employee it would be their duty to bring it to the attention of Mr Lawell

Do you really think that Mr Lawell would neglect to pass comment on such a serious matter

I am not saying that it did not happen but it appears that only a select few were aware of it and thought it only serious enough to bring it to our attention nearly 24 hours after the event

  6. themelvingael @ 12:30,

You called it as you saw it, from my perspective you had every right, maybe even a reponsibility to post what you viewed as totally unaccepable behavour for Celtic supporters, especially at a match.

From what I read many confirmed what you wrote and backed you up.

I don’t know what happened so can’t comment, all I will say is there was a Glasgow Club whose decent supporters failed to take a stand when their fans or management were out of line.

That Club went out of business with a bad rep to boot.

Mon the hoops..fighting the Sevconian media propaganda machine is exhausting ..

Why does no one point out it is SFL 3 . .? Last season the media did not care, now it’s all hands to the deck to reconstruct the league and get ra peepil back..

    Sick of it..

Awe Naw made a valid observation earlier when pointing out the LACK of hoops on tv over the coming months…

    That can only be deliberate..

The profile of Sevco is the single most important thing in the Scottish media just now…

They will stop at nothing and have the arrogance to carry on as if no one else exists..

That is why they have spun Dens park into the siege at the Alamo …I look forward to the MSM carrying a picture of Sandaza blessing himself..aye that ll be right..

Take care in Edinburgh hoops fans..it ll be Alba and Seamus for me ..

Who were the Celtic players racially abused at Dens Park? What were the Dundee fans chanting?

  12. Why was Efe getting booed? Is there any another explanation? You really didn’t need to be at the game to pick it up.

there are some idiots in the away support and I’ve had my run-ins with them over the years, I’ve also debated on here since the Roy Keane testimonial about IRA songs at our matches. I like to hear from people who actually witnessed events, people may not always agree but do post.

  13. Bournesouprecipe, I was onlu a couple of weeks old when that game took place so I have no idea what you mean :-)

  14. I posted the other night on the way back from Dens,it was a rare post from myself.

I truly disappointed at the behaviour of the Celtic support at the match, was still angry and thought CQN was a reasonable place to let fellow fans know how bad it had been.

Unfortunately I was left even more disappointed by the reaction to my post.

Since I posted both Pl and NFL have both condemed the behaviour and they too have been criticised,so no surprise in shooting this messenger.

As a result I now look at some of the posters on here differently.

Over the past few years I have got to know quite a lot of posters(when I was on the buckets for Wee Oscar, race night, quiz night etc) and have met many great Celtic supporters.

Defending the indefensible is not what I. expected on here.

Would like to take this opportunity to apologise to Awe Naw….sorry if I was a bit close to home when I was having a go at drunken clowns. No offense intended, keep posting song lyrics, they are so good and I for one don’t find them boring.

Drunks and The Falls Road Karaoke cause me little concern

However persons who endanger my safety, steal from Celtic Football Club, openly abuse drugs in front of children, and ignore the needs of wheelchair users do

However from your wee Marxist views I can see you want to turn the arguement towards a political debate

Anyway that’s me at Wavereley will I see you at the game ?????

My question to you on boxing night was about your statement that the away fans behaviour was bad at recent games

I was at rugby park…. No issues there. My friend was at arbroath… He advises the same.

Just arrived at rugby park… Coupla pints in the company of a great cqnr….. That was an offer btw ;)

  18. Ah Queen’s Park v The Rangers.

A Glasgow derby between the city’s third and fourth ranked clubs. Scotland’s oldest league club against its newest. A club with a long proud history of its own against one that wrongly claims to have bought a history.
