Celtic spectacular interim accounts released

467

Celtic this afternoon released their interim accounts for the six-month period to 31 December 2016, the figures are as rewarding as expected.

Income was up an incredible 94% on the corresponding period in 2015 to £61.2m (2015: £31.4m). Profit from operations reached £21.4m (2015: £1.6m), although profit on player transfers fell to £2.0, (2015: £12.6m).

Investment in player registrations for the period was £9.5m, not that much higher than 2015’s £6.1m.

To put some perspective on these figures, income for the whole of last season was £52.0m, £9m less than we earned in the first six months of this season. Results against Lincoln Red Imps, Astana and Hapoel Be’er Shiva in the summer have had a huge impact on the club.

The lack of Champions League football during the second half of the campaign will see income drop off, but these figures provide the first solid evidence that income will to £80m this season for the first time, comfortably £50m more than any other Scottish club will earn.

The figures also reflect a significant uplift in sponsorship deals, which kicked-in this season – well done to all concerned.  The post-Brexit vote battering of the pound didn’t do any harm either for a club earning so many euros…….

  1. Am I getting this right, there is an Aussie meltdown going on triggered by a “Yer Maw” gag? FFS I stopped using them and being bothered about them around first year at secondary school

Your the one that is notorious for slapping like a girl just because you couldn’t match an university educated man’s argument.

Live with it mate, turn that frown upside down, it is too late in life for you to discover thinking…now.

So around first year at secondary school you lost all respect for your mother?

My mother like yours has been dead along time. If I was confronted in such a way, I hope I would treat the remark and the one making it with a mixture of disdain and sympathy. It is such a stupid and inane thing to say. I despise all such references and hate the casual use of the abbreviation, “mother” in films and the longer term it is derived from. Having said that and trying to be honest, I am not sure how I would react in the heat of the moment but I do know that that “heat” would not serve anyone any lasting good.

  5. I’m dreading going to be Judged, totally dreading it.

    Love is awesome however.

That a man would judge the Angels, Wow just How Awesome is Yeshua.

The Power of an Angel is so bamboozlingly amazing, if you Believe.

    CELTIC THANK YOU

If you meet JP please raise the planned future lack of parking for Celtic fans from Celtic Park all the way back to Tesco Dalmarnock, from what I can see.

With little public transport to speak of, the proposals are a nightmare for those of us who currently park in the soon to be restricted areas.

Elderly and infirm supporters can ill afford to walk such distances and evening kick offs would be all but impossible.

There has to be a viable solution e.g. Buying a permit to park in the Emirates car park or such like.

Supporters from our side of the city are being further disadvantaged. I recall us just parking on the grass where the Emirates now stands just a few years ago and what about the eyesore of derelict ground to the right of the Emirates, in the corner of London Road and Springfield ?

Should all meet up in World of Warcraft or Second Life and beat the bejesus out of each others avatars.

Meanwhile on F #ckwitF#ckwit.com we’ve been found out:

It turns out one of the Hun geniuses has a brother-in-law called Arnold. Who also… an accountant!

Default Re: Scum make £19 million profit

There is something very odd about these figures, they literally do not add up. If Dembele’s, Sinclair’s as well as Brenda’s weekly salary are as we believe them to be, then their outgoings vastly dwarf their income. I haven’t included Sinclair’s transfer fee which was 3.5 million I believe.

But of course the most astonishing figure is the claim that revenue increased by 94.2% in one financial year, that is fiscally impossible!

No properly run organization gets those figures legitimately. Microsoft, Volkswagen and MacDonalds would eat their heart out to get that sort of return.

My brother-in-law Arnold is an accountant and a quick glance confirmed that these figures are too good to be true. Remember there are statistics and there are statistics, and as Arnold pointed out ‘These numbers are from the Bernie Madoff school of accounting”. Don’t forget Dermott Desmond made his money through Ponzi schemes. I would take these figures with a shovel full of salt.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Goddamn. We’re done for.

If only Peter Lawwelld the savvy about him to use ‘an accountant’.

    :))
