Commentators at the Henrik- Lubo match today were very impressed with the performance of 74 years old, John Yogi Hughes.

They marvelled at his physical condition!

Where do they get these guys?

Many thanks to Johnbay for sorting me & MissGFTB with tickets today, wouldn’t take a brown Lenny, married to give his Bhoy the cash for tickets, wouldn’t take the money either, Johnbay even shouts over if I know anybody else without tickets……not the money issue but the tickets were much appreciated

We only lasted to half-time, wee yin wasn’t feeling great, walked her to chapel and back, had a chance of a lift to the game but she wanted to get the train, don’t think she realised how far a walk Belgrove to Celtic park for her wee legs

A few beautiful moments today, after all these “blinking” stairs (her words) I said to her wait till you see the view (we were in 438) wee yin “WOW !!!!!”

Broony gets subbed, if Scott Brown is off am going home (her words again)

There were far many more and though might be boring to some my favourite was walking down the stairs on way out she starts singing

“This is how it feels to be Celtic”

    Apologies, for stupid nonsensical sentences

Enjoy your night fellow Celts, am away to watch the cup final without the stress of Madden & co effecting the outcome

  9. Is there ANY truth in any of the accusations made in this comment lifted from an Aberdeen Fans Forum? :

“Well said. I’d add mindless minority spoiling the silence from the tim end, why guys? Brown & Rodgers absolutely zero class. Rodgers not so subtle digs at our club is pathetic. I would be very interested in seeing this messiah manage Aberdeen or even the Hun with limited finance. What was Brown playing at after the final whistle. Would you rather not celebrate with teammates rather than goad opposition fans. Lastly, the middle aged dicks in the hospitality box above the William Hill lower south stand, imbeciles. Deserved a good slap and hopefully it was duly dealt out when the opportunity arose. Pricks.”

Don’t think Celtic fans intentionally broke the minutes silence, it sounded like stragglers coming up the stairs into the stadium who were unaware. Brown went up to the Aberdeen fans at the final whistle and held up 3 fingers while pounding the Celtic badge on his shirt with the other hand, basically gifuy. Brendan looked like he handled the final whistle with his usual class, he shook McInnes hand and went to the Aberdeen players. Can’t imagine he said anything untoward.

  11. Hamilton with their Junior standard ground, their 750 fans, less than some Juniors, and their plastic pitch win against Dundee Utd, with their good ground, 5k/7k fans and substantial history – what a sorry result.

We have got rid of ICT, if only Hamilton and Ross County went the same way – they are all basically Junior clubs, lucky to have 5k supporters between them – they devalue the top league – Dundee Utd & Falkirk plus newly-promoted Hibs could add over twenty thousand to gates – plus they have decent stadiums not enlarged council sports centres.

I was at the corner of the North & East stands at the back and there was some noise from latecomers coming in. Guys we’re standing at the top of the stairs telling them to be quiet.

I though Brown was celebrating with Lustig, he just happened to be in their technical area as he’d been pushed there just as the final whistle went.

No idea what BR said to upset them, they were physical and they did play a long ball game. Truth hurts perhaps?

Shocking commentary on Sky. No intent! The guys an animal. We’re going to have to do it the hard way. How great would it be if Tom scored the winner

It was great! Sweet! Wonderful! Magical! I immediately thought of McInnes, Stockley and the insignificant Logan. You reap what you sow.

Can see where you are coming from with that argument but at least they are run economically unlike the Hun !

  16. glendalystonsils on

I was hoping for a Dundee Utd win for no other reason than to avoid that plastic pitch next season, with it’s potential for injury to our players. Not to mention the fact that proper fitba cannot be played on it.

If all goes according to seeding, we will face one of Bate Borisov, Apoel Nicosia, NK Maribor, Quarabag and either Malmo or the champions of Poland (Legia Warsaw is 2 points ahead with 1 game remaining) in the 4th (final) qualifying round.

So, odds are it would be a re-match with a team that we have played in the last few years.

  19. thetimreaper on

Not having Izzy on the bench yesterday could have been costly. Obviously Brendan needs to weigh up what 6 outfield players he wants on the bench. We don’t know if the backup plan was to play McGregor there or Gamboa. It seemed like it was a toss up between the two with Rogic chosen to come on and try get through the Aberdeen press. I suspect Izzy will make the bench in the future. McGregor did well but his lack of defensive instinct could have cost an obvious goal in the second half. As for Gamboa, the manner in which he lifted the trophy was subdued, perhaps suggesting he was the original back up left back. It will be interesting to see who is back up right back next season between Gamboa, Ralston and Janko who has done well at Barnsley.
