  1. Tontine Tim

    22:02 on

    23 October, 2014

Canadian commentary team said that although we were poor 1st half we deserved the points and are looking good for qualifying.

    ——————————————————————————————————————–

I watched the Fox Sports coverage and the commentary by Ross Perry (described at ht by someone as a ‘posh Englishman’) and Janusz Michallik was excellent.

Michallik, in particular, was very good at commenting on the tactical aspects of the game, doing what summarisers should do but showing a level of perception and intelligence which is sadly lacking in the ex-pro dross we get on UK TV.

That said, we were ordinary against opposition which was modest by European standards but which was still better than what we normally face in Scotland.

    And yes, I don’t post often, and, no, I’m not a hun…….

  2. What is the Stars

It diddies like you who get blogs a bad name.

    Go and “support” sumdy else.

You’re like a broken feckin’ record.

    Now piss off.

  3. JimmyQuinnsBits on

For a most of the game, we seemed to be playing a back three. Denayer and vvd were too far apart, with Charlie seeming to be a part time centre back. Didnae work.

I dunno what the problem is, but there seemed to be no confidence. Only Izzy and Broonie getting pass marks for me.

    Passing is woefull.

Great to get 3 points, but we do ourselves no favours when we pretend the Emporer isnae bollock naked.

That score was lipstick on a pig tonight.

  4. What is the Stars on

Timbhoy 2 . I would replace him with a cardboard cut out of ron Atkinson or George Graham, that would be an improvement

  5. Our manager has produced the goods in this Europa league campaign .

    Well done ronny sir ….

Keep up the steady progress …..

  6. There is definitely an attempt to mock Ronny in the media.

Foreign managers often get the ‘treatment’.

  7. What is the Stars on

Phil bhoy, why such vitriol, do you really think ronny is a good manager. What ever happened to having an open and honest exchange of views

Ronny is hopeless and it’s only a matter of time before he goes

  8. What is the Stars

    You don’t support the manager.

    You don’t support the team.

    You don’t support the board.

You disagree with most of the fans on here.

Why do you come on here?

Are you just an attention seeking fraud with no life?

Go and take up a hobby or do some voluntary work.

    Seriously.

  9. The Lurkin Tim – WGS said the other week, ahead of the game with ROI, that he and MON shared a similar belief that football isn’t complicated and nor should it be. All this talk of RD’s ideas and philosophy not being understood – Jeez, you’d think we had hired Guardiola or Mourinho’s successor. RD has achieved nothing of note in football to deserve the chance to manage Celtic. Nothing.

He may be a nice man. He may be educated and articulate. He may be funny. He may have some interesting observations on the role of science in sport. But he is not ready to manage a team of our size and stature.

I still back RD as manager. I don’t back those who appointed him.

    ——————————————————————————————————————-

According to Roy Keane,he was offered the job by D.D.

    Presumably D.D.approved the Ronny decision.

    The problem is……who replaces D.D.?

    Embdy?

I`d rather have the devil we know as C.E.O.

Tommy sounded great today – it was lovely to hear his voice given the irresponsible tweets going around today. I posted on CQN the sad news re the sad passing of John Divers but that information came from Big Yogi who was one of JD’s best friends and Yogi was able to tell us the sad news and ask us to share with the support via CQN. ie not gossip with nothing to back it up.

On a lighter note Yogi also believes that Rangers died!

Did you listen to Sportsound tonight? —- “last time a Romanian team blah blah blah played in Scotland — blah blah blah they beat Rangers 4-1……of course they don’t even exist anymore….(PANIC!)….I mean the Romanians!!!!

  12. On the M8 heading back to Edinburgh.

Well done Celtic on a great result and 3 very important points. Not the silkiest of performances but at this stage the victory is more important.

Great to see Scepovic get off the mark, especially with such a crucial goal. We will win in Romania and that will be that.

    Goodnight.

  13. Is there any other team that has to suffer commentators who urge on the opposition against us , analysts who have usually played for the dead team and tonight big Chris sticking the boot in .

Even if he was totally right , never heard another team get such a pasting from an ex player.

  14. Philbhoy…. Hit Nail on the head …

    Sick of these guys …..

They are so negative that there is no return for them ….

Probably same guys who wanted rid of wee strachan …

They simply don’t know how good they’ve got it .

The days of Larsson Sutton and hartson are GONE forever …. They need to realise this .

  15. Was luck enough to have a group of young guys in front of me tonight, who ran the emotional gauntlet we all did, but stuck behind the team and had a good laugh throughout (mostly).

There was me thinking the standard of supporter at CP these days was garbage, most of whom are out of their depth. But tonight I am heartened!

Won ugly is the phrase of the day. I’ll take that.

  16. Philbhoy, chill, WITS is a broken record with nothing positive to say re replace with ………..we can all shout for sacking but then what?

    Hail Hail

  17. Ellboy - I am Neil Lennon, YNWA. on

Thankfully the opposition was Astra and not a half decent outfit or we would have been. Hammered tonight. A good manager makes players play above themselves Ronny D seems to be having the opposite effect. I was once one of WGS’s most vocal critics on this blog but now, I’d take him back in a heartbeat.

Only positives we can take was the result and Scepovic breaking his duck, other than that we were dire.

    Onwards and upwards I hope!

    HH!

  18. What is the Stars

I SUPPORT THE MANGER AND THE TEAM THROUGH THICK AND THIN!

UP TO NOW WE ARE STILL IN EVERY TOURNAMENT AVAILABLE TO US AT THIS TIME!

WHAT IS IT YOU WANT FROM CELTIC TODAY?

    PHILBHOY

Now you know why I rarely post after a defeat-or during a game, usually.

The frustration of watching so many bad passes and crosses, poor attempts in fron of goal, even an inability to turn was just too much eventually.

I’m delighted with the result, but there is still much to be done to get this team performing as we would all like.

To make matters worse, work for me in an hour!

  20. Keeping The Faith on

It’s only a matter of time before every manager leaves, whatever happened to giving a manager a chance.

4 months ffs, get a grip

  21. TBJ says Wee Oscar Knox is in heaven with the angels on

    Just home from the match

sometimes we get the luck – but im happy with 2 home wins and an away draw

btw – michael kelly on tv talking about the living wage – chancing bassa has a brass neck talking about the plc

  22. What is the Stars on

Phil bhoy, I am deeply wounded, however I enjoy coming on here, have had great crack and made many new friends over the years, I can’t take to ronny, I think he will prove to be a disaster, but I have been wrong before

    Thanks for that.

  26. Yet another contrived 3 points at home in this Europa Campaign!

Forget; the possession, lack of intensity, penetration, game plan – this was a seriously inept performance all over the pitch – once again we have to rely on a top performance from our GK.

No matter how poor the calibre of our team personnel – CFC have rarely been made to look so ordinary at CP as we have been this season.

Anyone who thinks we are on a par with other Europa Group leaders currently on 7-9 points needs a reality check. At the moment it might be down to Salzburg to do us a favour and we get to qualify in 2nd place.

    Mega improvement needed!

  27. Ellboy – I am Neil Lennon, YNWA.

    22:42

The fans have a more negative effect on the team than RD. He must be thinking, these fans are out of their depth.

It’s not easy being a Celtic supporter sometimes.

But there are clowns who come on here every day spouting the same anti Celtic pish!

IT’S AN HONOUR TO BE A CELTIC SUPPORTER AND I AM BLESSED TO BE ONE!

And I know you are too.

    Sorry about the shouting.

  29. 1) Scepovic had a mixed bag and missed some sitters but he never hid an kept going and got his goal. That shows a will and belief so I’ll give him kudos for that. Jury still put maybe but at least he has shown he can take a licking and keep on ticking.

    2) not a good performance but in pole position for Europe beyond Xmas, let’s not underestimate that.

    3) don’t forget to have a laugh at sevco now their lying king has flown back to South Africa without a deal. Mwahahahahahah

  30. Ok then Deniabhoy, what do you suggest, cut our losses, disrupt our club with a sacking and replace with who? To be honest, at the beginning of season i would hav taken Steve Clark, but we’ve got what we’ve got……….patience is key long term. However, I’m not blind or stupid RD’s got to adapt faster than he has, he needs a plan B & C during games. Can the players at his disposal do it?

    Hail Hail
